you guys are doing it the hard way, just go join a public free roam and send an invite to all available people and wait untill most of them have joined your posse and go to the select menu and simply join another free roam session. when you do so your possemembers will go with you. send invetations to all the available people you find in the next roam session and when that's done repeat the process untill you reached the maximum and the trophy is unlocked.
that's how i did it and i can assure you it's more easy then struggling with the different timezones we all live in ^^;
I'd say this is by far the best method, although i know some people have trouble with getting into large games…

I seem to be one of the few people unable to connect with anyone online
I've spent an hour so far hanging round waiting for someone to join the room and haven't fired a single shot in anger yet

you may have this little problem
if your nat type is 3 thats why you have no players joining your lobby best thing to do is change your nat type to either1 or 2 depending on your internet setup

Have lent the game to a friend, so once I get it back I'll hopefully be able to get into the online
Edit: I'm Type 2 apparently. Back to the drawing board.
