according the data protection act, hacking is defined as accessing information without the owner's knowledge.
the most common way for someone to hack into a computer is to gain access to it's network.
most people use WEP and WPA-PSK keys on wireless networks. Both are easily hacked into.
luckily not that many people would bother doing such a thing.
another common form of hacking is that people don't secure thier username and password. with that information, they 'hack' into their account, often with criminal intent.
