As the official ones are £30 (pounds), they r expensive. The cheap unofficial ones are £10 or so. Do you advise staying with the official ones?

July 18, 2010 at 5:33 pm #63914Antony19MemberI bought an unofficial once it sucked it hasnt wirless, you had to put a usb to work and it worked with batteries the buttons suck i had to push the same button ten times to make it work. so i suggest you the official
July 18, 2010 at 5:58 pm #63917Doc-BMemberI always seem to break my R2 buttons… I'm not even that forceful with it, but something always goes wrong for some reason
I always buy the official controllers… I think the others just look and feel cheap and chunky… I'm not sure they'd be as sensitive either…
The cheapest I've seen one is about £12 before P&P on E-Bay…

**EDIT – On closer inspection i don't think this is an official pad, just a very good replica… The only thing missing is the sony branding.

July 18, 2010 at 6:20 pm #63923Doc-BMemberI had another look and i can get you 500 of those controllers for about $0.1 each if you fancy, but you have to take at least 500
I'd say get the SONY one still… It might cost a bit more but IMO there still the best…
Out of interest how did you break it?
July 18, 2010 at 7:19 pm #63926Gashead-64Memberdidn't break it, but only got 1, and, you know, some trophies nd 2/4 controllers, + wanna play with ppl.
July 18, 2010 at 7:22 pm #63929scottwiz5775Memberyou see the raven controller on gamestop.com? it look pretty cool, and its only 35 bucks so thats good.
July 18, 2010 at 10:32 pm #63945Ratchet525MemberI'd say go with the officials. The reason why the unofficials are much cheaper than the officials is because they are made cheaper. However, one problem with the official ps3 controller is that if you drop it a few times, the L2 and R2 trigger buttons start to get loose and even one tap on one of those buttons will activates it. Thats how mine is, and its very annoying 🙁
July 19, 2010 at 12:32 am #63955XeroTheGreatMemberI've dropped mine a million times, and the R2 button is only just starting to feel odd (L2 is fine). I'm surprised at how sturdy they are.
I'd stick with the official controllers to be honest. At least you know you have the real deal, not some cheapy alternative that may break at any time.
July 19, 2010 at 4:31 am #63959scottwiz5775Membereasy to say when you have money, a controller costed as much a game. i want and need raven
July 19, 2010 at 8:39 am #63960kingofgames73Memberofficial controllers all the way for me, i have a madcatz controller along with my 3 official ones, but it's extremely clunky, drains batteries fast (meaning it will eventually cost more money that the official ones) and the buttons feel horrible! the official ones can last ages aswell, although with me the left analogue seemed to get wedged with my sixaxis
July 19, 2010 at 5:59 pm #63968parnakasMemberWell tbh, I think the official ones are pretty cheaply built too. They dont feel as sturdy as the PS2 Dualshocks did, and I find that the Analog sticks always seem to get stuck in the up position, which pisses me off. I also tend to break the R2 button a lot, even though i m gentle with it. To be honest, I hate the R2 and L2 trigger buttons. And, I also hate the fact that you cant use your PS2 controllers.
With that said, I would still say go with the Official controllers, they are much better than the other crap out there.. And has anyone ever seen the controllers with the Fans built into them? Those are so freaking stupid
July 26, 2010 at 5:25 pm #64304Gashead-64MemberI JUST GOT AN OFFICIAL CONTROLLER!!!!!
