Hi guys.
Sometimes when I'm playing Mw2 the game freezes and I can't go to the XMB by pressing the PS button. I forgot you can turn it off by holding the button on the PS3 so I turned off my PS3 by turning off the button at the back. Next time I turned on the console all of the red colours MW2 were really blurry. It doesn't do that with any other game.
Does anyone know if I've damaged my PS3 or have I damaged the disk?

If you can resort to the middle button or the original power button located in the front , thats great . The back switch is known to erase Saved Data when in a game , and you can probably mess up your internal blu ray aswell , meaning no games . It happened to a friend of mine , every week or so his PS3 would freeze up and being an idiot he would continuously switch off the power via back button . It was only a matter of time , for a week later his PS3 was dead .
Im not saying it would happen to you , just be careful . If your MW2 continues to be all blurry your only choice would be to return it , hopefully you have waranty . What do you mean red colours on MW2 ?
December 3, 2009 at 2:01 pm #51624kingofgames73Memberif your ps3 refuses to turn off, to turn it off safely hold the button at the front for 7 seconds, the ps3 will beep once before shutting down straight away, it's not good for the ps3 ( i had to do it last night when my ps3 crashed, also playing mw2 happened after i accepted a friend invite) and when turned on the ps3 displayed a message saying how it had been turned off incorrecly( the only ever time i got this message was after the ps3 was shut down due to a power cut). but i believe it to be safer as apposed to turning it off from the back.
As for the colours being blurry, check your visual/video settings they may have been reset after the sudden turn off

This happened to me aswell , i believe while playing Modern Warfare 2 .
December 3, 2009 at 10:05 pm #51676ScottSummers1MemberI mean that whenever a large amount of the colour red was on the screen it would go blurry
December 3, 2009 at 10:09 pm #51678monkeymoobsMemberi got that message when i loaded up after mine freezed too but it works fine now anyway

December 18, 2009 at 1:24 am #52929XxTATTOOxXMemberi always use the main power button because my ps3 always freezes.. oops
December 18, 2009 at 3:06 am #52940xxKnightmarExxMemberMine never displays a message when I turn it off by holding down the power, I would only do it maybe once every two weeks or so when it freezes but still no message.
February 25, 2010 at 8:30 am #58384johnsteveenMemberWhat is wrong with my ps3?Today it stopped reading ps3 games. It can read dvds no problem, but ps3 games are a problem. Is there any way to fix this? I would really like to play my games again, with the least amount of money spent. That's about all I can tell you. The game does not pop up when insertedFebruary 25, 2010 at 12:44 pm #58387gow2rulesMemberjohnsteveen said:

your blu-ray is most likely broken if its still in warranty it should be fixed no costs
but if not it may cost you to get fixed by sony
just ring them up and see what they say
