Sony did everything perfectly; the entire conference was beautiful. They had made at Outlast and Final Fantasy XV but holy motherfucking hell! These bastards did it! I'd like to purchase a PS4 as soon as I possibly can!!
The one possible negative, although it really isn't a negative, is the fact that either I interpreted it wrong or it was worded wrong, but was it hinted or said Plus is required in order to play online multiplayer? Eh, whatever though since Plus has absolutely stellar benefits.

You'll be able to play all single-player games as well as use all media services without subscribing to PlayStation Plus, however you will have to subscribe if you want to play games online. Existing PlayStation Plus memberships will carry over from the PS3, and members score a new title each month (plus “DriveClub” will be free for the first year).
June 11, 2013 at 10:38 am #73382Seibei4211MemberI think a lot of people totally didn't catch the part about PS+ being necessary for online MP. I think people were too distracted by all the other awesome stuff. Anyway, at least they're simply doing something that Microsoft is already doing instead of being worse in some way. Microsoft doesn't provide much benefit for being a Live member, while PS+ is pretty much amazing. It's gotten to the point now where most people on my friends list already have it anyway. Also, PS+ is still cheaper than Live anyway. And now Live is trying to do the Instant Games Collection, except on a smaller scale. Two per month, right? Whereas PS+ does about 4 per month, with at least 12 being on offer at any given moment. All this adds up to be a very easy math problem.
Edit: Oh, and the DriveClub thing is apparently the “Plus Edition”, so I reckon it's some stripped down or beta version of the game. Still pretty cool to do that, though. Like a super demo. And Outlast is gonna be free!

June 13, 2013 at 3:36 am #73388I773D33MABL3MemberWell after a proper look at the console and line-up I'm damn well excited. I'll be throwing down my deposit tomorrow.
Having to pay for online is a bit of a draw-back but I can't see why anyone wouldn't be a PS+ member anyway. A casual gamer could spend €50 and have enough games to play for the year.
I'm not too sold on the launch line-up though. I like the look of Driveclub but KZ is just not what I want my first PS4 FPS experience to be. In fact, they don't seem to have a strong exclusive in that department. I know Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Pedigree Chum will be knocking around but I'm sick of both series at this point. Somebody needs to put a new FPS on the map. The shit that's there is just stale.
June 13, 2013 at 7:36 am #73389Seibei4211MemberWow, there really isn't that much in 2013 for the PS4. Killzone, Driveclub, Watch Dogs, and Wolfenstein. 2014 will be pretty good though. So maybe there's really not much of a rush to get a PS4 just yet. Whenever they decide to release FFXV or KHIII, that's my deadline.

There'll be a ports as well like Battlefield and Diablo. I'd rather play them on the new console and use the new features.
June 13, 2013 at 6:17 pm #73391KriggsMemberI'll probably wait for FFXV too, looks like it'll be good.
June 13, 2013 at 8:05 pm #73392Seibei4211MemberWell, I purposely excluded Battlefield and Diablo's PS4 release date hasn't been announced, apparently. Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed IV will be out in 2013, too, but whatever. Apparently The Walking Dead Season 2 will be on PS4 in 2013, which is surprising. I was hoping The Witness would be out in 2013, and maybe it will be, but I don't think it's been confirmed yet. A lot of the other multi-gen games are coming out in 2014, such as Hohokum, Dying Light, and The Evil Within. In any case, if I'm able to get a PS4 on launch, I'd go for that. The games'll come in due time.
June 14, 2013 at 12:13 am #73393I773D33MABL3MemberWell if Driveclub is anything like GT5 then it'll have a six-month trophy list anyway so we'll have something to keep us going!
Has anyone seen any info on how our accounts will transfer across or if the HDDs are upgradable?
June 14, 2013 at 12:57 am #73395Seibei4211MemberHDDs I know are upgradable. And although neither Microsoft nor Sony have explicitly detailed how transferring accounts is gonna work, I would imagine it's gonna happen because Xbox Live and PS+ are supposed to transfer. How would they do that if you couldn't transfer accounts, right?
