I'm downloading the new update as i type this…
I thought i'd create a new thread so everyone could cleary see by the thread name, it's about time… I'm only 31% done So i'm not sure what it'll require me to do or what is now available…
Let's see, first things first – Time to sync my trophies
May 15, 2011 at 2:20 am #69725iruleuMemberWhat was that update supposed to do!?!? It didnt do anything!
Edit: Nvm, i read the Sony blog thing and they said this is like phase 1 of updating it. It just makes it so when it is back online you have to change your password. Also, they are updating state by state and country by country.
May 15, 2011 at 2:46 am #69726I773D33MABL3MemberTHANK FCUKING GOD!!!!!!
This changing password business is going to be a pain though, I have 16 accounts…
May 15, 2011 at 2:52 am #69727RKF95MemberLOL, fail thread, the update wont do anything until sony actually reactivates PSN wich should be soon, but for now PSN is still down

Why make us wait? Surely it would have made sense to activate it before the update?
May 15, 2011 at 3:04 am #69729Doc-BMemberEmmm… Whoops
May 15, 2011 at 4:32 am #69724HardAndSloppyMemberthat pissed me off, i downloaded it just to be told, the psn is under maintenance, so stupid
May 15, 2011 at 11:40 am #69731KnoxieMemberSo America and Canada are back online but the UK has to wait. :/
Can't wait to be back on though! Hope we're back online by the time the Newcastle – Chelsea games finished.

Europe is apparently apparently second in the 'turn on' stakes, America being first…

I guess this'll teach me to check out a story before i rush to create a thread
May 15, 2011 at 3:23 pm #69734I773D33MABL3MemberWhy are we second? They keep warbling on about SCEE being the biggest market yet we always come after SCEA. At least it's definitely on the way.
May 15, 2011 at 4:04 pm #69735Doc-BMemberNot that wrong after all … Kinda…

News so fresh the blood's still warm As long as I'm still more reputable than Fox News I'm happy…
Lucky for you… I keep hearing 5pm for the UK so fingers crossed, the fact that US PSN is back up gives me some hope
May 15, 2011 at 6:15 pm #69740emdeepeeMemberAll I need now is the YLOD
May 15, 2011 at 6:57 pm #69741Doc-BMember“The password can only be changed on the console in which the Psn account was first activated, or through an authenticated email.”
Great… So i wonder how long after everyone else is online Sony will wait to send out these e-mails?? I've had several Ps3's, some I've deactivated and a couple i haven't, i hope this doesn't turn out to be another 'P!ss about'!!
——-
So 5pm has come and gone But Sony PSN Ireland tweeted, or whatever, earlier today that PSN would be restored by Sunday… So i guess it's just a waiting game now… And it seems from what i read that I'll need the e-mail to change my password…
