So, PSN decides to realize some hot new titles on PSN on day 1 and some for a few dollars off?!! Sweet! But the discounts for PS+ only…
I already pre-order Assassin's Creed III (I know! I said I probably wouldn't play it ) and will probably cancel it due to the fact that PSN doesn't charge tax It'll save me a few dollars (Yes, I'm a cheap bastard! )!
EDIT: Has anyone ever pre-ordered from the PSN Store? If so, do you get to download the game before hand like on Steam or is it like: You pre-order and start DLing the day it releases on the store? If so, I'll be happy to come home to load up the game fast.
September 25, 2012 at 10:35 pm #72355emdeepeeMemberI'm still not completely sold on digital downloads. Most of the games I buy I tend to sell on, so obviously I'd be losing the ability to do that.
Out of curiosity how much does a new game cost from your local store in the States? Some of the games on PS store here they're charging £48.99 for a game you could get for less than half that from an online retailer
September 25, 2012 at 10:43 pm #72357gr8jrfanMemberI pre ordered inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood a long while back. Basically you just buy the game in advance and get a neat perk for doing so. You can start downloading release day only and it's marked “free” when you pick it up. I got a sweet ass theme for pre ordering.
It's cool that you save a few bucks but I'd still get more out of a disc copy so I can resell it or trade it in. That's the only way I can afford to buy new games! Also I'll take a disc over digital anyday as they take up less space and I prefer having a tangible product, for replacement and etc.

Here in the states it's $59.99 plus tax which usually comes up to about $64.56-ish. So, I converted it to the pound and it claims to be £37.04… DAMN! Lol, I believe Finch told me it'd come up to something like that and says it's sometimes even more expensive than here in the states!
You guys are making me feel bad about buying digital , lol. While I do like the concept of not going out to purchase the game or waiting (besides the download!!) for it to ship to me, I sometimes wish I can sell games like Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age which I haven't touched since I plat/finished them. Hm…
September 26, 2012 at 1:06 am #72364I773D33MABL3MemberI've no problem grabbing a digital copy of a game as I never trade in and with a 500GB drive I have plenty of room. But that only goes for the stuff I get off PS+. New titles in the store come with a tag between €59.99 and €69.99 and that's just a rip-off when I can expect to pick them up in a shop for around €54.99 or even less from an online store like Amazon.
September 26, 2012 at 8:16 pm #72369scotty243MemberMight as well post here instead of making a new thread but anyways: What do you guys think of the half/half on PSN? For example, Starhawk released Single-player and it's Multi-player seperately for $19.99 each.
I think it's pretty cool and would like to see more games implement this type of idea. Perhaps if possible, they could make seperate trophy lists like Killzone 3 MP? Or is that too much to ask for?
For this actual topic though, I read something on some forum with someone saying how games should be discounted if digital and I thought it was worth mentioning and a great idea. Like Dishonored $59.99 retail but on PSN it's $49.99, something that makes you want to buy digital instead of just say,”It's on PSN!” I'd personally like to see this happen in the future.
