So its finally here:
Uncharted, COD, Killzone, Resistance amongst others to be released and it also comes with…………………………………..TROPHIES!!!!!
Kojima's claim that “On NGP, we can enjoy the same quality as PS3.”
Bit of difficulty excepting that one at the moment, but seeing is believing
I'm sure there'll be more to come later…………………………………………………………
January 27, 2011 at 1:03 pm #68821I773D33MABL3MemberThat is sweet news. Trophies means profiles will be transferable. Although now I have to deactivate a console.
I'm liking the twin sticks as well.
January 27, 2011 at 5:41 pm #68823kingofgames73Memberyawn, another handheld portable gaming device i won't even consider splashing any cash on, i prefer paying 60p-£3 for my games on the iphone, (i haven't used my psp for a good few months) i find they offer what i want from a handheld device, cheap, quick fun.
Still that's just what im into, some people prefer realistic graphics and a decent story.
January 27, 2011 at 5:45 pm #68824Kieeeraaan. LMemberBeing able to collect trophies while on the move makes this seriously tempting… 2011 is shaping up to be an amazing year for gaming and sony.
January 27, 2011 at 6:27 pm #68825parnakasMemberThis all sounds excellent. The two analog sticks is something that is LONG overdue on portable systems. Trophies sounds awesome as well.
Right now my only portable gaming device is my iPod touch, which i must admit has a stronger library of games and apps than anything out there right now.
I am definitely considering getting this at the moment, if the games they release for it are of proper quality, count me in.
January 27, 2011 at 7:53 pm #68826I773D33MABL3MemberI have a couple of the older PSPs lying around that I have just for playing the odd game that ties in with what's being released on the larger systems. Stuff like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories or Origins and Motorstorm: Arctic Edge. If future releases like that can net me trophies then I'm all for it.
January 27, 2011 at 9:09 pm #68827parnakasMemberSo here are the specs: HERE
Apparently there is a touch screen on the back of the device? Weird. Front screen is touch as well. There is also motion sensors like an accelerometer on it.
Also comes with a GPS? sure. Games are said to be released on small flash-like cards. Also, two cameras, one on the back, one on the front. Full PSN functionality, with trophy support.
3G and WiFi are built in, which I think is a really smart thing to do. And obviously the two analog sticks are probably what will sell this for me. Its about freaking time.
Also, the picture on that page shows how the dashboard will look like. I like it. Looks pretty easy to navigate, and well organized. Also, if you can access PSN on this thing, using 3G, you can send messages for free, almost like text messages, I'm assuming. Maybe there will be a cost incorporated into that to allow the use of 3G.
I must say, I am very impressed with how this is looking right now.
Sony, good job, for now. Don't screw this up for me.
January 27, 2011 at 10:17 pm #68829jenkem_addict88Memberthere is nothing about his that doesnt sound badass. When it come out?

No exact date has been given yet (or price), but sometime before the end of the year.
January 27, 2011 at 11:26 pm #68831NinjacatMemberThe back is just touch sensitive, Matt. Don't think it's an actual screen.
Regardless, I am also confused as to what if would be used for.

“There's motion control, too – Yoshida rocked the NGP back and forth to build momentum in one scene. And get this, he rubbed the rear track pad up and down to climb a vine. Nice.”
January 28, 2011 at 5:39 pm #68840KnoxieMembersounds great! the built in 3G really stands out to me. also, i like a few of the games mentioned so i will defo look into this when more is announced! no doubt it will cost like £250-£300 tho! :L
January 28, 2011 at 6:38 pm #68841parnakasMemberAh well i saw multi-touch pad so I guess I got confused as to what it really is. Its gonna be interesting to see how developers use it!
Seriously can't wait for this.
As for the price, $300 – 350 is expected, if you ask me. Who really knows. Gamestop is taking pre-orders, and put the price at $999 right now. Don't panic though, thats just a random price they threw up so they could start accepting pre-orders.
Also, no word on battery life. It better last at least 4 hours. 3 hours is ok I guess, but idk. Anything less than that would be a serious bummer. Also, with the inclusion of 3G, I'm sure some fee would be included in that, like a data plan or something (similar to an iPhone's 3G capabilities). And I would assume that the 3G would consume a hell of a lot of battery.
Release more details Sony!! I am way too excited for this, its kinda scary.
January 28, 2011 at 10:45 pm #68845parnakasMemberOk so, as if I couldn't be more excited for this, take this in.

Amazing.
Sony, give me one. NOW.
January 28, 2011 at 11:02 pm #68847XeroTheGreatMemberI think i'll stick to my laptop: it's portable, much more varied choice of games, and it does more than that PSP2/NGC or whatever they're gunna call it.
