Hey guys I am a massive fan of F1 and McLaren and have really missed F1 on the PS3 have any of you played the latest F1 release from Codemasters for the PSP or Wii ? Is it any good and does it lead us to expect a good came for the PS3? That is one of the dissappointments so far on the PS3 games, the lack of true racing games.
The good thing about them (Codemasters) taking so long to develop the game is that it will not be a port OR will it? I read somewhere that the game was ready for the 2009 but put on the back burner from the software distributors (seperate company to Codemasters kinda like sub-contractors i think) to instead get the release prepped for the 2010 season.
What do you think have been the best racing games so far wether there are trophies or not? Cant wait for GT5 and F1 2010!
I was thinking of getting the Logitech GT steering wheel for the GT5 release, have any of you tried it?
January 3, 2010 at 1:04 am #54383NinjacatMemberDirt 2 is absolutely amazing, if you haven't tried it already, do it as soon as you can. It's probably teh best racerz on teh PS3.

January 3, 2010 at 1:49 am #54389MiiiitchMemberGrid was just amazing as was DiRT 2 and NFS Shift wasn’t as much of a disappointment as some of the other blunders that EA allowed to be released it was actually fun.
January 3, 2010 at 3:04 am #54391parnakasMemberWell, as far as sim racers go, you really cant go wrong with GT5.. its as real as it gets. Dirt 2 was good, but i prefer Motorstorm any day, love the carnage.
I've tried the Logitech steering wheel. its quit pricey, but if your going to use it a lot, then go for it. I would probably never use it, as i prefer the classic controller. But the wheel does do its job, and it does it well, just a bit pricey for my liking.

Yeah it is a bit on the dear side but i have been waiting so long fro GT5 i want to go all out! I saw it was reduced down to GB£69.99 on amazon.co.uk but if it was a poor steering wheel i wasnt sure if i would go for that one or not.
I actually completely forgot about Motorstorm 2 ! One of my all time favourite games, one of the few games that would make u play endlessly just for the plat, whether College exams suffer or not Great Great racing game and good online fun/torture
@ninjacat
@miiitch
Grid was a great driving sim, very realistic! I was not gone on Dirt so never tried Dirt 2, but heard a few ppl saying it was much improved on the first one so i might give it a try. GT prologue was a good taster but got boring on the same track over and over but it its own right a true driving sim!January 3, 2010 at 3:23 am #54396parnakasMembergnilsia – well if you want to go all out, then go right ahead lol. I myself dont really need one, or can afford one, so i would not do it, but if your looking for a steering wheel, the Logitech one is definitely good.

January 3, 2010 at 12:14 pm #54417kingofgames73Memberi personally prefer burnout paradise, i feel that driving sim's have a way to slow start for my liking, i dont fancy driving around a course on gt5 in something like a skoda/rover/volvo or something just to get proper cars later on

Wow.. how the hell did i forget to mention Burnout Paradise?
That is my favorite racing game on PS3 so far, tied with Motorstorm! Who ever doesnt have it, go get it.. its like $20 on PSN, and its so much fun.
January 3, 2010 at 6:05 pm #54447NinjacatMemberOh em gee.
I didn't say Burnout either! I played for hours and hours on that game with a mate of mine. That was before I met you guys. And before he got a girlfriend
Ah well. I reckon I clocked up about 10 days on that game. Oh such fun.
January 3, 2010 at 6:55 pm #54457monkeymoobsMemberDiRT 2 or if you ain't into anything serious try Burnout Paradise

Motorstorm kicks ass too.
January 3, 2010 at 11:13 pm #54474pool96MemberI am not a fan of racing games, the only one I liked that I played was Burnout Paradise, so addicting trying to takedown the same guy over and over again.
January 3, 2010 at 11:42 pm #54479W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberBurnout by far must be my favourite racing game out there . No other has caught my attention like Burnout , and ive played alot of racers . Aside from the easy trophies and annoying DJ Atomica dialogue , billboards , smash gates , and the ammount of cars earnable are far than enough to keep you busy for days . With the welcoming of DLC , Cops and Robbers ( new online gamemode ) and Big Surf Island , the game got even better . Huge jumps , tons of challenges , endless fun , thats Burnout Paradise for you .
