Plate tectonics (from the Greek word for “one who constructs”) is a theory of geology developed to explain the phenomenon of continental drift, and is currently the theory accepted by the vast majority of scientists working in this area. In the theory of plate tectonics the outermost part of the Earth’s interior is made up of two layers, the outer lithosphere and the inner asthenosphere.
Plate tectonic theory arose out of two separate geological observations: continental drift, noticed in the early 20th century, and seafloor spreading, noticed in the 1960s. so I realize this is from like 8 pages ago… but, I gotta say it as a scientist
Fact: I have a degree in physics and specialise in the studies of radiation physics
Fact: ALL science is technically a theory, and therefore can always be argued for or against when the proper evidence is presented to support or disprove said theory. (so yeah, pokenny you're right)
Fact: The definition of freezing is the act of any substance changing from the liquid state to the solid state. Every substance has the potential to freeze and a given temperature, known as the freezing point. This freezing point may be altered by changing the consistency or make up of the substance (like adding salt to water). Most metals are “frozen” at room temperature.
Fact: Killer, while having all rights to argue a theory, unknowingly disproved his own statement with the video link he posted. The video showed water (or a water like substance) crystalizing, or changing to a solid state (sure, the mush was semi-solid, it didn't all change), which is the act of freezing.
Fact: Radiation WILL NOT make you glow, grow an extra limb, or turn into a super hero/villian (damn).
Fact: Radiation is around you all the time. The sun emits gamma rays that travel to and beyond earth. When they hit our atmosphere the particles cause the rays to scatter, and some beta rays to be emitted. This is known as cosmic radiation.
Fact: 68% of statistics are made up on the spot.
