so for you guys that have beaten the game (3 people at max maybe )
what you guys think about it?
I mean i was REALLY pissed at how they ended Dr. Nefarious like that. He was the greatest villian in R&C history imo. And how Alister just noticed the clock is not a toy, right at the end of the game. Even though they told him like 50 times…
November 3, 2009 at 12:47 am #48782Ratchet525Memberoh great….typo in title… shit
November 3, 2009 at 4:14 am #48801iruleuMemberi though it was a great game. the ending was alright. I mean now im sad cause ratchet is back to being the only lombax (in his dimension)…I think the next R&C game they make should be ratchet & clank trying to get to that dimension. Somehow add a villain in there. lol But really, Nefarious was the best villain. so it kinda sux.

November 3, 2009 at 10:18 am #48809pobert06MemberAside from some parts awkward camera angles and easy A.I.,The game is really enjoyable and fun.Qwark was as his usual idiotic ways,Nefarious was also hilarious in the game especially when he stucks up and funny romance story plays in his head.Overall, even though its not the best R&C to date it is worth playing if you really enjoy the series.
Now I'm waiting for Naughty Dog to release Jak & Daxter for PS3.I hope they make one soon
November 3, 2009 at 10:40 am #48810Seibei4211MemberI'm just glad they brought him back at all, despite it being an admittedly cheap move. I kinda thought he was done in R&C3, so to see him come back at all was fine enough. But wait, I don't remember him being completely obliterated or anything. Yeah, his space station blew up, but how many hundreds of times has a villain's lair blown up with the villain inside, but they come back for the sequel anyway? And even if he did get broken a bit, he's a robot. Even though he's my favorite, I wouldn't want him to come back again.
Aaaanyyyywaaaay, this game… There just really wasn't enough combat or enough levels in the game. The Hoverboots were cool, but they didn't do a lot of cool things with them. There's Krell Canyon, a few of the moons, and the last boss, but that's about it. Space combat was pretty cool though. Although after a while, it did get a little repetitive. You defeated the enemies in almost the exact same way. Nothing really changed with them at all.
I noticed the pacing of the game was a lot slower than previous Ratchet games. It takes hours for the game to get some momentum. The game feels like a big tutorial until you get to Axiom City. They had the weapons spread out nicely though. I wish they hadn't shown you the final armor design so early though. That was really anti-climactic when I found out there wasn't going to be an extra upgrade in challenge mode or anything. Also, in previous Ratchet games, when you upgraded a weapon to level 5, it changed appearance AND added significant functionality. In this game, there's hardly any added functionality. The Sonic Eruptor stays exactly the same aside from the facelift. A handful of other weapons simple add some sort of small explosion with the attack. That's not a lot of incentive to upgrade the weapons and it's really anti-climactic to see level 5 and have almost nothing happen.
So overall, this feels like the most casual Ratchet since the first game, even with Lord Vorselon. Even the arena matches are more simple and lackluster. The skill points are intact though. Those are basically as good as ever. Gold bolts were good and Zoni collecting was interesting. People complain about the weapon selection, but I think it's fairly decent. Not as good as some games, but the Constructo weapons were pretty neat. Then there's the Cryomine Glove which offsets the brilliance of the Constructo weapons. Seriously. Be more useless, Cryomine. You can't replace the Groovitron. Even the Mag-net Launcher at least causes damage and it's faster and more accurate.
So yeah, obviously not my favorite in the series, but I don't regret the time I've put into it. If I weren't such a fanboy, though, I probably wouldn't like this game much at all.

his place was blown up then him and lawrence were stuck on an asteroid for many years. if you beat Ratchet Deadlocked then you see him on an asteroid in the end.
about the weapons. i think they shouldve allowed you to do what they did in deadlocked. make your guns have more ammo, bigger impact, rate of fire, etc. THAT wouldve made it good.
November 4, 2009 at 1:34 am #48911Seibei4211MemberI was talking about at the end of this game though. You don't see what happens to them after this explosion, but I doubt they're destroyed for good. And I did beat Deadlocked, but I haven't done that in years.
Yeah, that's in here, but it's automatic and stuff. It'd be kinda cool if they had a point system where when you level up, you can distribute points to whichever stat you wanted the most, but once you get it to the highest level, you can max everything out anyway. Kinda like in Tools of Destruction where you could unlock certain mods and stuff first, but eventually unlock everything.
One thing I really, really, really miss is the lock-on mod. I can't tell you how many times I was firing at someone while strafing, then my target circle suddenly switches enemies or leaves enemies completely and I start firing at nothing until I get the circle back on. Lock-on mod was cool cause you could see the health, you didn't have to move the right stick to circle an enemy, and all the shots hit for the most part. Made it easier to hit airborne enemies, too. Actually, what happened to ANY of the mods? Aside from the Constructo weapons, there's no fire, shock, or acid mods anymore. Those were so useful.

“A day without Dr.Nefarious, is like a day without sunshine”… or something along those lines…Classic
November 5, 2009 at 2:10 am #48996Seibei4211MemberIf you were down to your last piece of gum and Dr. Nefarious asked for it, you would give him the gum.
I think I recently noticed the acid thing for the Sonic Eruptor.
