I agree with all you guys but… and its a big but… Who pays for there wages???? Us of course… have you ever bought a DVD, gone the cinema, went to see a sport match… it is us who pays for them… so if you dont want them to get paid loads how about we organize a boycott for the WHOLE world… seems easy enough…
do we choose what we pay for? No.
When you pay taxes, you are not choosing what your paying for, your just giving it to the government, and they do what they want to with it.
Thats the problem. Serj Tankian said this and I 100% agree : We should be able to check off where we want our taxes to go.
Health Care = YES …. School = YES …. Guns = NO
So as you see, we pay for everything that happens in the world, we just dont choose what we want to pay for sometimes.
WTF!!! Taxes who the hell said anything to do with taxes…
i think your going well off topic here…
Taxes have nothing to do with sports or media such as films, taxes pay for the services such as police, firemen, doctors (NHS taxes for UK), etc…
im sorry Parn but what you said is totaly irrelevant to the topic in hand…
I would agree with about no guns but that is a TOTALY different topic…
and back to my original point we pay for the wages of sportsmen and woman and the media when we buy tickets or merchendise…
Parn How much you reckon Led Zeppelin get paid(no of which from taxes, all from you buying CDs)?

Oh god, im just saying that we dont get to choose were our money goes. Im just using Taxes as an example. I probably pay for sports, but do i choose to? no.
Led Zeppelin? They get nothing. The value of their C.D's are listed at 2$ Canadian, but when you go to the store to buy it, it is 15$. That money goes to the store. Did i want to pay the store? no. I wanted to pay for a Zep C.D.
When you buy Merch, most of the money goes to the guy who is selling it, not the team itself.
Do you get it now?

But i must say one thing since i started this thread, the advert on the top of the page has changed to a Man utd advert. I wonder if someone personaly from google put it there or that a google program reconised the words 'Ronaldo' or 'Man Utd'…? interesting.
June 16, 2009 at 9:47 pm #28273BigWoopMagazineMemberahh… I love getting off topic in the off topic section. makes too much sense.
freak – two things. first, zep, and pretty much every other signed artist on the planet, make the majority of their money from tours… which is why many artists keep touring well past their prime. CDs help promote the popularity that reels people into buying tix for shows. second, yeah google does allow for ads to adjust themselves based on repeated words on the screen. its pretty nifty actually, I've been seeing it on a lot of sites. based on your settings it can also adjust itself according to your browser history, cookies, and cache.
