I dont take SATs cause im not in high school yet lol. I take CSTs and always score advanced on the subjects that im being tested on

i agree it's important but surely english is far more important i could do all the maths in the world but never be able to tell anyone cos i wouldn't be to read,write or speak

You knew how to speak before ever being taught english.

You're surrounded by it every day of your life, so even without a class in it, you'd still be fluent, but simply wouldn't have the correct grammar in certain situations.

Tell me this: How many people who are NOT in school actually sit down in front of a building and say: “huh, let me find the radius of this building, make a scatter plot of my data, then plug it into a quadratic equation. That will be awesome!” Heres your answer: 2 people in the whole world: Bill Gates, cuz hes got nothing better to do, and some mathematician dude.

Im perfectly fine with the basic math, adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, areas, perimeters, blah, blah. I just hate that advanced crap that I am never going to use in my life..

We use alebra and all that shit in most of our jobs to date…

I don't think you all understand the function of maths.

It's not simply there to teach you how to add and subtract, and do basic calculations.

Maths is intended to train your brain in problem solving and organisation.

Algebra teaches you how to group problems, and deal with them in a step by step manner, which can be applied to any number of situations in life.
