Hey guys. I wanted to play Resistance 2 on my ps3 and when i turn it on and start the game up, the screen just stays black. Does anyone know why? I also tried the Spyro the Dragon (ps1 classic) and it still had a black screen when i started the game. Thanks in advance.
January 10, 2010 at 1:19 am #54953I773D33MABL3MemberIs it only with those two games or are all your discs giving you the same result?
January 10, 2010 at 1:52 am #54954Ratchet525MemberI don't know. Resistance 2 is on Disc and Spyro is downloaded. I'll check and see what happens.
January 10, 2010 at 5:46 pm #54981parnakasMemberhmm.. have you tried any other games?
Isn't it a coincidence that both games are made by insomniac?!

Hey,I had a problem like this. Are you downloading something in background? Some games don't start if you are downloading anything in background.
January 10, 2010 at 9:06 pm #55010Ratchet525Memberno im not downloading anything in the background.
@Parnakas I tried Assassins Creed 2 and i got the same affectJanuary 10, 2010 at 9:18 pm #55013edge4eva32MemberHey Ratchet, I know people who have had that very same problem. All of my friends got theirs to work by unplugging the ps3 from the tv, unplugging all cables from tv and ps3, and then plugging everything back in after 10 minutes. None of us are sure what caused the problems, but it is definitely worth a try.
They had the black screen, no audio, and their controllers weren't being detected. If you have these same symptoms, then I really suggest trying what my friends did. Hope this helps.
January 10, 2010 at 9:20 pm #55015Ratchet525MemberYes, all those symptoms, I'll try it now. Thanks Edge
January 10, 2010 at 9:22 pm #55017edge4eva32MemberI really hope it helps. There is another solution that WILL fix your problem unless it is your video card that blew out. Here is a link to another solution (scroll down until you see the video). The only downfall of this other option is that you will lose all your game saves but will fix the problem.
