Same here. I'd only ever played games on my dad's Amstrad prior to that. Then I saw the original sonic and flipped out.

I'd have to give COD: W@W a mention too, as I only ever used to play games on easy/normal level . Then I saw the trophies you could attain by playing through on Veteran and gave it a shot. BINGO!!!

i've had many games make me the gamer i am today. it started with super mario world for snes then donkey kong country 2 for snes without those games i would've never been the gamer i am today. also contra 3 for the original gameboy. i played that game and beat it over 100 times at least. then i got hooked on spyro 1 and a few n64 games like pokemon and paper mario. then came gta3. my favorite game back then. it got me into the more realistic games. then came god of war which really brought in my love for the great design on games. bioshock helped to make me pickier about games because it was so damn good that it made me only want really good games. but the latest game to get me was cod4 it was my first fps game and since i've been hooked on them.

Spyro or Crash on PS1. I got into killing with GTA.

well the game that made me turn from just a casual gamer to the gamer i am today was burnout paradise the 1st game i had with trophies i got platinum in 8 days and this made me think wow and i have been hooked since then but i'll give COD 4 a shout too cos i play COD online quite often 1st game where i found the online good rather than a shabby thing thrown in last second.

Spyro got me into the adventure/collecting side of games and Quake got me into shooters. But the thing that got me into gaming for good was back when I was about 8 or so, our house got robbed and they stole our ps1, so my mum brought my brother and I a chipped one and we got about 60 copied games with it. And I became a gamer for life I guess…

killzone 2 made me like FPS's

uncharted addicted me to PS3

Wii sports put me off wii

Halo 3 made me hate eggboxes

and guitar hero made me completeley obsessed

The Legend of Zelda for the NES. When it came out i was a kid & was never able to beat it till i was a teenager. I was able to beat both quests in a day when i got into my twenties! This was the game that made me into a true gamer. I mean the first game with internal memory, insane secrets, immersive world, and great music. Back when the only help you were able to obtain came from mario bros trading cards and nintendo power magazine. no internet. no google. Shit there was no game informer. no x-play. we had it ruff! lol. & there are a few to mention that destroyed my free time like Xenogears, Street Fighter 2, Final Fantasy Tactics, Super Mario Bros 3, Resident Evil 4, Tekken Tag. etc… but Zelda set it off for me.
