First off, it's nothing to do with the retarded Katy Perry track. But this place seems to have shrunk to about two topics and we needed a new thread that everyone could contribute to.
Basically the title is in reference to a trophy that you just ended up giving up on, either through sheer frustration, boredom, or just deciding the task was impossible. We all have some poxy game sitting on our list with something like a 98% completion that we just can't face going back to, a title that makes us scowl or wince every time we look over our games.
And I'm looking for a bit of discussion and plenty of digression here, not just a bullet-point list of your failures!
I know I have a few haunting me. The one that pisses me off most is the 'Legend' trophy from Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. It's for reaching Rank 5 online and between other games distracting me, cheating bastards utilising track glitches and the punishing rank drops for doing badly I never got there. it's a complete balls as I put a huge amount of time and effort into getting the rest of the trophy set and there are some tough bastards in there.
More unfinished business is Bad Company 2. The 'Decon 2.0' trophy for getting 20 demolition kills was one I should have got early but by the time I started trying for it everyone playing the game was so tuned in that just the hint of a building going down had them leaping out windows. I never really use explosive weapons so I only picked up 3 kills while on my way to the top rank needed.
November 26, 2012 at 9:43 pm #72540scotty243MemberNice discussion thread, I77D
I've quite a few, and first off, you more than likely will disagree with me but it's Assassin's Creed II. I didn't like this game at all, and going through the list was a pain in my ass as those feathers were fcuking all over the place. Upon obtaining the last feather, waiting for the trophy to pop, nothing happened. So, I said fcuk it. I wasted an entire Friday night collecting these dumbass feathers on this shit game, on to the next one.
Now, this is a game I really enjoyed, right next to Assassin's Creed which is Brotherhood. I was cleaning up the multiplayer trophies before going back to SP to finally start up the DLC (going for a 100% because it was that much fun), Lvl. 25 halfway to Lvl. 50 and had about 5 trophies left, I think? Uncharted 3 was literally coming out the next week and there were trade in deals going on since it was that time of year. Didn't have much cash on me so I just sadly sold it to purchase the game…
Another was Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (or all the games, if you want to say). I played the games alot when I was younger and it would've been a breeze at least getting Warrior Within and The Two Thrones but since I heard about glitches to where your character would yell/scream as if they were to die, it'd affect the trophy. So I said hell no. I wasn't going to do 3 more playthroughs.
Dead Fcuking Space 2, holy hell. I just need Hard to the Core left, and the platinum is mine!! But sadly, I had borrowed it from a friend and he later went on to sell it I really did enjoy 2 and Extraction and hopefully can find a cheap copy (which I probably can, too lazy ) so I can finish those games up. Extraction holds the best memories and the trophies came instantly!
I have a few more things, but will list them later… Anyways, I plan on going back through my trophy list and picking up few of these games to raise my completion rate. Been doing that with my current collection and happy from where it started, to where it is now
November 27, 2012 at 11:58 pm #72541gr8jrfanMemberGod, I have 111/227 games 100%. Where to start…
Dante's Inferno is the first denied 100% that comes to mind, mainly because they were one of the first DLC trophies I'd ever attempted. A majority of the user generated goals were simple but the developer challenges are downright insane. I consider myself above average in the action genre but 100 waves of pure ferocity in an upped difficulty alone?! No thanks… Hell, if you can somehow beat the 15 dev solo trials, you'll have to find someone who shares your insane dedication to 100% for the 10 coop trials!
Eat Lead:The Return of Matt Hazard. Yeah, if you know what I'm talking about odds are this is also incomplete for you. It's not the actual difficulty that'll make you flustered in Max Hazard mode but the increased amount of glitches. I'd restarted 3 friggin' times just to fall through the gameworld in the exact same spot. C'mon! Add that to the increased amount of damage you take and recklessly annoying AI and I called it quits.
The Medal of Honor reboot in 2010. I accomplished everything in campaign pretty easily, but it was the online that made me get tired of this game. Every map I played I was just pinned at my spawn by some sniping asshole, and when I wasn't, I couldn't get a cruise missile to save my life. My FPS skills have significantly improved since then so I could probably do it legit but I'm assuming the servers are barren wastelands now. To assemble a team would require 24 people or so (that's more than a text chat limit!) so I really don't know what to do with it.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. If I'd stuck around when I played this regularly, I know I could've got this 100%! The problem is that I can't just play competitive multiplayer every day and every double XP weekend, so when I returned a lot of die-hard tryhardz had the best gear so I was getting less than I did when I played it usually. I could still scrape together a performance placing in the top 5 but that wasn't as fun as regularly being MVP and leading teams to objectives like a boss. So I ditched it to play something more enjoyable and totally forgot about it. Now there's like maybe 10 people still playing? Fcuk online trophies.
Shank. I hate this game! It got so repetitive and dull and the bosses are either stupidly easy or impossible to kill without a trick. I had to push myself to beat it, only to discover I didn't set it on Hard I said screw it to another playthrough. If the first one felt stale by the time I had killed the second boss, I couldn't imagine another complete go-around on a slightly harder difficulty.
Limbo. This is a trial and error puzzle game. The errors are extremely violent and happen quite often. What made this game playable was that the checkpoints are literal seconds before your mistake(but to the point where you can correct them in time). Now imagine going through it in a maximum of 4 errors and time pressure. Ugh… I love the game but I'm not keen on memorizing every inch of it's dark and blood stained trial rooms.
Resistance 2, AC Revelations, and Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves. I lumped these together for pretty much the same reason. The trophies left are grinds and require a partner that doesn't really want to do them. Me and Jack'll get around to R2 eventually, and the same with my other partners for the other 2, but they're all so grindish that I'm not going to be the first one to bring them up to complete
Madagascar Kartz and Start the Party!. After the disapointment and rage bridled up inside me after losing the trophy contest, I just snapped these two into teeny tiny pieces. Completely shitty games with frustrating time trial trophies… Just forget 'em. Unless a gun is held to my head or those are the last two games I need for 100%, I'll forget they ever existed.
I have quite the list, eh? Was considering adding two more but that's too much writing on my part and too much reading on yours. More than one of my trophies have gotten away…
November 28, 2012 at 4:24 am #72542AGENT_P6MemberWell the list for me would be way too long to list
I'll say the one that almost got away was Dead Space 2 Hardcore mode. Man it was so insanely frustrating getting that trophy…if any of you don't know about it, its defeat the game on the *2nd* hardest difficulty (the general consensus is that the enemies are just one step down from the hardest difficulty) with only 3 saves for the entire game.
I wake up at 6:45am, start work at 8:00am, get home at 5:00pm, and by the time I get some tidying up done and eat dinner, its like 7:00pm. That leaves me about 4 or 5 hours of time to myself…getting this trophy meant I had to go for the gusto and spend all my free time trying to make it far enough where I could feel justified in using up one of my saves. Otherwise I would use up all 3 saves in only the first few chapters. So basically it was a given that if I wanted this trophy it would be truly impossible to do so on my own terms…I absolutely had to spend my entire evenings just to get to the next save.
Sooooooooo many times I'd spent like 4 hours through the most nerve wracking moments, knowing that if I die, I go back 4 chapters to my last save and just wasted my entire night for absolutely nothing. And so many times I DID die and boy did I rage! Sometimes I was just too mad to even rage…I'd just sit there and stare at the death-screen wondering what the heck just happened. And most times I would die juuuuuuuuust as I was about to call it a successful night and make my save.
But eventually I managed to buckle down and git er dun.
I'd like to share with you a rage comic I made over this trophy!

AC 2 was probably my favourite of the bunch but a glitched trophy for collectibles is most definitely a kick to the balls. And I think the Brotherhood MP is still on the perpetual “to do” list of most of my mates.
And 'Hard to the Core' is one of two I need for DS2 as well. Although that's because I never actually went for it. I just got distracted by something less punishing
I had to laugh man, it was like I wrote that Eat Lead paragraph myself. I'm short about three trophies in that game and I could grab the lot going through the hard playthrough but it's just so badly made I can't stick with it. I got as far as that Russian general fella and a combination of frame rate apocalypse, retarded cover mechanics and AI that pretty much spawned with their guns to my head killed off any ambition I had of ever finishing that heap of shit.
Medal of Honour is also something we have in common, I enjoyed the MP to a degree but I could never seem to get better at it and none of my mates were playing at the time so I just dropped it. Never bothered with the Tier 1 stuff either.
@Agent
Well done on the 'Hard to the Core' mate. Like I said above, I haven't worked up the nerve to put myself through that yet. It's the sort of thing I'll start at the crack of daw and just dedicate the day to so I don't need to worry about wasting saves.
Another game that I would really like to finish but keep putting off is Dragon Age: Origins. I still need a handful of trophies and while most are doable it's the 'Traveller' trophy I'm wary of. It's for entering every area of the game but I can't find a definitive list online and the thought of doing another huge playthrough only to miss it is withering.
November 29, 2012 at 9:12 pm #72544scotty243Member@ I77D
Well, I'm still at the beginning stages of my second playthrough. I'll use PS3T.org's trophy guide for Traveller and let you know if it works or not. Dead Space 2 on the other hand isn't punishing, but frustrating at times. “Cheap” deaths plague most of the corridors and ammo is sometimes limited to the point of frustration. Also, one of two as in the platinum as well? Or Zealot? If Zealot, I recommend doing another speed playthrough if that doesn't bother you because during the final boss battle, I was stuck there for about 3 days playing for 6 hours each
Medal of Honor (both the 2010 reboot and Frontline, excluding Warfighter) are still one my list with few trophies left to obtain. Medal of Honor 2010 was some horrendous online trophies and with me not being such a competitive player, I tend to get my ass handed right back to me. I believe the online is fairly active… But you can definitely find boosters and enough people to get a full game going. Warfighter on the other hand is actually a fairly easy plat. With the little time I had with it, I managed to knock out most of the trophies. The SP should be easy but need 2 more playthroughs as I didn't feel like playing on Hard to unlock the other difficulties… On top of that, the SP is a technical mess, so that will be a drag… But I found the Multiplayer to be fun
Also, don't forget about the new RAGE DLC releasing soon. The trophy list for it has appeared. FCUK id!!!
November 29, 2012 at 11:17 pm #72545I773D33MABL3MemberRage DLC?! Balls!! I fcuking hated that game! And definitely let me know how you get on in DA:O with traveller as it's one I really want to finish. I'm refusing to touch DA2 until I do!
And when I (eventually) play through DS2 I'll use the weapon packs to help with ammo. The game randomly drops ammo for the three guns you're carrying but if you have the downloadable weapons then just use three versions of the your favourite gun and you'll only get pick-ups for that.
And if we were to get a boosting team together for MoH then I'd definitely be up for it. The ranking up doesn't take too long and it's just the one or two skill related trophies that need boosting.
November 30, 2012 at 3:02 am #72546gr8jrfanMember@scotty243 What's that one Prince of Persia glitch you mentioned with a 3 playthrough-inducing yell/scream? When I slept over at my friends house two years ago, he loaded up Two Thrones while we were still on my account It'd be nice to know how miserable I'll be when I get around to that unopened HD collection.
I guess id have no clue when to time DLC plans. The game didn't exactly fly off the shelves at release, and now I believe anybody who was eager to play it definitely isn't now. What's the link? If it's coop, the Coalition will be able to jet through the shit at least (provided there's no elevator glitches). Ugh…
Also, I'm totally down for an APT MoH 2010 boost if a team appears. If it does, another game I was going to mention was Homefront! I quit out at the hundreds of kills you need for single weapons, but if we could somehow wrangle together a team for MoH then I'm sure we could for that boost-fest!
November 30, 2012 at 9:26 pm #72547scotty243Member@ I77D
I'll try squeezing in time this weekend for DA:O, my Assassin/Tarantula playthrough of MGS4 should be done today, so that'll definitely give me time this weekend. And an MoH boosting session would be cool.
@gr8

Yeah, the Coalition might want do this seperately as (I'm assuming) single player, “story-driven” DLC that was supposed to be in the original game. And I'm quite surprised, people over at PS3T are actually happy that this shit is getting DLC?! Then again, they've been known to NOT such a good community… And a new difficulty, Ultra Nightmare! But wait… Wasn't the game a nightmare to begin with?
The glitch I was mentioning was when you're playing the game, blah-blah, and then all of a sudden the Prince would scream out in pain as if he was dying, which would result in a blocked trophy. It would do it randomly but didn't happen on my playthrough, didn't want to take the risk as the HD Collection was a bad representation of what I had experienced a few years back. Then again, I did play on XBOX… But seriously, I'm not being biased or anything, but they're really good games, it's just the HD Collection is the definition of an HD Collection: nothing new, just a straight port. I really think they should've taken the time to fix somethings that wouldn't fit for our gen that it did last gen, if that makes sense?
November 30, 2012 at 11:40 pm #72548I773D33MABL3Member@Scotty
Ughh… The Coalition won't want to do it at all but their compulsive completion disorder will force them to shell out more money on guaranteed-to-be-ass DLC and then to bludgeon through it in complete despair. Fcuking Hell… I'm having Shangri-La flashbacks…
What would be involved in boosting MoH and HF? Can you get private matches in either? Or if we're in a public room can we at least join each other's games without having to rely on random searches. And if we do manage to get in the same room will we all be lumped on the same team?
December 5, 2012 at 12:29 am #72552KriggsMemberAhh the one that got away. I'd have to say that a trophy that I just haven't got the patience for is the “Treasure Hunter” trophy in FF XIII. I pumped about a month into that game and enjoyed the 13th chapter (the one where you actually got to do something in the game apart from watch beautiful but fcuking boring cut-scenes) but the rest was shit.
After getting through it the last trophy i needed was the above mentioned and when going to get it i realised for the entire game I had improved the wrong weapon and the trophy would have to wait for me to either start again or boost for an unknown amount of time for stupid ingots to make money for upgrades.
I suppose it didn't really get away but I haven't the heart to get back into that game.
@ The Coalition
Bring on another tedious grind in MoH
December 5, 2012 at 11:32 pm #72554AGENT_P6Member@Kriggs: Yea that was a brutal trophy to get. Farming for those ingots was a real pain. Its a complicated enough trophy as it is with all of the different types of accessories. Some I think are missable or only one other upgraded accessory can be disassembled to produce what you need. Its definitely a trophy you need to have a really good guide for and have to make sure you keep a really good eye on that guide and check everything off as you go.
That stupid giant cactus was a real pain in the arse without being fully chrystariumed. Then again I think I tried to take him on too early and just got stubborn about trying to defeat him prematurely. I think you get a XMB theme for unlocking that trophy tho…maybe a bit of incentive to give another go 😉
December 7, 2012 at 8:29 pm #72560scottish_wonderboyMemberyou guys should buy the german version of dead space 2 and plat it again 🙂 its so much fun i loved that game 6 playthroughs and i still enjoyed it.
off the top of my head the only ufc plat i dont have is undisputed 3 but i cba fighting 500 times online and maybe arkham city i aint great at the challenges but i might try again seeings its free on plus

I know in Homefront you can get private matches but it takes like 5 days of dedicated boosting. I'm not exactly sure what MoH entails, but me and scotty will work something out and get this ugly 80% off our list and turn it into a shiny 100%!
January 1, 2013 at 1:22 am #72631scotty243MemberStill haven't gotten around to Dragon Age Origins 33%…
Army of Two: The 40th Day currently resides on my list at 67%, I think? I did this offline 'cause my internet was down at the time and it was a borrow as well, but this is an impossible plat now since the website to create a mask is gone and isn't the online as well? Oh well, I had fun playing through this and wished I could've gotten this done.
Resident Evil 5, haven't finished the story to begin with, but I know what happens. Have to pick this up since a friend brought this over before and we played for a bit. Hopefully it's not difficult or anything, just wanting to breeze through it since I liked what I got to play.
