Game companies r so scared of MW2 that they push ther release dates into early 2010! voice ur opinion here if u r mad bcuz a certain game u wanted went missing or if u rly dont care bcuz all u need is MW2.
October 2, 2009 at 2:06 am #44518TomTom12992MemberExactly what games are you talking about? Because I dont know of any games that have been delayed due to MW2
October 2, 2009 at 2:11 am #44519gr8jrfanMemberLike.. MAG, red dead redemption, bioshock2, max payne3, singularity, i belev lost planet2, and many others that i dont remembr or on difrent systems.
October 2, 2009 at 2:17 am #44521TomTom12992MemberI dont know about all of those but I definitely feel that Mag and Bioshock 2 could release whenever and still get sales… so I think its just they want more time to work on it and stuff like that, and also no matter what games come out, everyone wants to release their game b4 holiday season. So I doubt MW2 has anything to do with these release dates
October 2, 2009 at 2:29 am #44522gow2rulesMembermost of those games were nether coming out this year max payne3 has always had a early 2010 to late 2009 release date , bioshock2 has being delayed as the developers were not happy with product at that time and want more time to perfect it
i do agree though with singularity but activision delayed it because it is an new ip and they did not want it to compete with bioshock but in the end have caused another problem with both games being released at similar dates
red dead redemption was delayed for similar reasons as gta4 more time to polish the product and a 2009 release was really not a fesable time for it anyway
and lost planet2 was never coming out this year
October 2, 2009 at 2:31 am #44523gr8jrfanMembermaybe.maybe. but still u gotta think thats one of the reasons

you forgot bayonetta as its being delayed till early 2010 but releasing october in japan
October 2, 2009 at 2:35 am #44526TomTom12992MemberIts a possibility but i can guarantee you that time will fly with all of these amazing releases that 2010 will come faster than you can imagine
October 2, 2009 at 2:38 am #44527x_D3adk0wn_xMemberi seriously doubt releases are being pushed because of any “fear” of MW2.. for starters, MW2 is a specific genre, and will mostly appeal to those who currently play cod4 and w@w type online FPS games, while Bioshock 2, abeit a FPS, is a totally different animal, and there would be no real fear of it having to compete with MW2 based on the style of gameplay and the people. hell even MAG wouldnt have to worry too much, as it is a larger more different play style than MW2.
as Tom said, any of these games could release now, or during the xmas rush and sell, its so funny to see people act like MW2 is gonna be the “be-all-end-all” game…
October 2, 2009 at 2:39 am #44528gow2rulesMemberwe still have these games for 2009
-assassins creed2
-the saboteur
-tekken 6
-operation flashpoint
-uncharted2
-ratchet and clank
-fifa10
-pes10
-brutal legend
-dj hero
so no shortage of quality games

Its not that they are scared , face it MW2 will bring in the bucks , and the games you mentioned want that share . If they move to a time where it feels dead and there wont be that many games rolling in for a while then games like Bioshock 2 , Assassins Creed2 and Flashpoint could be those points to break your boredome .
October 2, 2009 at 5:29 pm #44575shadeblackParticipantokay i don't know about the others, but bioshock is on hold because the developers weren't happy sending the game out until they were sure about it.
im actually very happy they did this because it means they're devoted into making it a good game, rather than just milking it for money.

Actually, According to Joystiq, MOST of the games pushed back to early 2010 are directly because of MW2. I'm NOT gonna post all the links (as they are all individual news stories) but here's one for example
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/08/singularity-sucked-into-q1-2010/
If you stay on joystiq. And keep clicking “Older Entries” you'll see a load of these stories…This one (as do the others) has a quote from the activision spokesperson directly stating they do not want to compete with MW2's release.

My thoughts exactly, on that second line.
@gr8jrfan – are you some kind of game developer with inside information that would warrant such an opinion? Quite a few of those games were slated for 2010 from the start. MAG certainly needs some work (although it is shaping up to be a great game), Bioshock 2 will most likely blow MW2 right out of the water, Max Payne 3 was always slated for 2010, and Lost Planet 2 will be out December '09. Just because one developer admitted they fear the competition of MW2 does not mean they all think that. Frankly, it was stupid of them to admit that. It says “our game is no where near as good as MW2”. If they don't have confidence that their game is good enough to compete, then why are they even bothering to make it? Frankly, any game thats pushing past the holiday season is missing a great opportunity to make sales, regardless of the competition. The only reason any of them should do that is if the game is simply not ready. Plus, game delays is nothing new to this industry. It happens constantly, and there isn't any more now than there were in the past several years.
