Well this started out tight but now it's just petered out a bit. I have too much time, more than you anyway, to play games so it's kinda unfair to keep this challenge going. Unless you want to?!?
Maybe we could set some goals???
March 21, 2013 at 7:50 pm #73082scotty243MemberHey Kriggs,
Since you're still up for it, I saw you were a premium user on PSNProfiles so I was wondering, would you like to try and see who would be the fastest or have the most acquired “Ultra Rare” plats? I've got a few under my belt (Battefield 3, Kane & Lynch 2, PAYDAY) however I've been wanting something more challenging.
I've Metal Gear Solid 3 HD installed in my hard drive, would you like to see who the first/fastest achiever for the plat would be between you and me? Or possibly Metal Gear Solid 2 HD? I've heard that's a bitch to do plus, I never had the chance of playing it till now.
I just want something difficult to try, none of that most plat stuff, since one could easily whore a few trophies. When I say difficult, I don't mean time consuming, I mean fcuking BRUTAL
EDIT: Perhaps Vanquish? I've heard challenge 6 is unbearable and requires you to literally be perfect or else it's game over. Plus, I've been wanting to grab Darksiders for the longest so Plus would do xD
If any of you guys have any suggestions, let Kriggs and/or I know
March 21, 2013 at 10:05 pm #73083gr8jrfanMemberNothing good ever comes from trophy competitions. Like ever. Scotty doesn't play fair.
March 21, 2013 at 10:50 pm #73084KriggsMemberI have the metal gear hd collection I think but havn't even played it yet, I was hoping to play vanquish sometime soon actually because I was looking for a challenging game.
Another Challenge would be to see who can get the Rocksmith plat if you can play it
Let's let the guys decide for us to make it fair though
Set us a challenge.
March 22, 2013 at 1:01 am #73085Seibei4211MemberShadow of the Colossus is pretty good. Takes a lot of time and skill, and one insanely, stupidly difficult thing you have to do.
I'd say Alpha Protocol, because playing the game the amount of times you'd need to do is brutal in itself, but I think Kriggs already did some of it. Although he hasn't done much.
I was gonna say Bulletstorm, but Kriggs has done most of that.
Dead Rising 2's an option, but it's not nearly as hard as some of the other stuff on this list. But it is an Ultra Rare plat, and it is time consuming and takes some planning. Dunno how successful you'd be at the online stuff since it's probably dead.
As mentioned, Vanquish is a pretty good choice. Shadow of the Colossus has the same sort of deal, difficulty-wise, but SotC is actually a good game.
You could always do Lost Planet 2…
March 22, 2013 at 1:47 am #73086gr8jrfanMemberPersonally, I think the perfect game that fits almost all your requirements is Call of Duty Classic. It's by far one of the most brutal games I've ever done, I even had to have Ben do a lot of the Veteran mode because it was so freaking bullshit and he had nothing better to do. It doesn't take forever, but it's super freaking hard like. It's not the rarest because some German weirdo made a confusing video tutorial on how to hack the game with a USB and a lot of people took that way out when their frustration reached the breaking point. Some people find it easy but I like to call these guys “elitists”. So whaddya think? A race to the finish in that? Whoever gets that plat is a freaking boss anyways…
By the way Kristoff, your new picture had me laughing for a good minute. Stop denying that you love sandals!!
March 22, 2013 at 2:30 am #73088KriggsMemberI have 90% of CoD:Classic done already and tbh I thought it was a piece of piss. I'm most of the way through veteran already and just havn't gotten around to finishing it. I will admit there are some hairy parts but I'm really good at those old fps's.
I wouldn't mind Shadow of the Colossus actually, it sounds interesting but I'd have to source a copy of it online.
I got bored of alpha protocol pretty quick so I'm not sure I want to go back for a while plus I have an unfair advantage.
Screw Lost Planet 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ gr8jrfan
Yeah it's a picture of me a little while back when I was hanging with this odd crew. Also I don't wear sandals anymore I just wear flipflops, They're more comfortable and make that nice sound when I walk
March 22, 2013 at 3:28 am #73090gr8jrfanMemberDamn. I was going to go into PSNP because I couldn't compare trophies while I was installing Bioshock 2, but then I forgot the extremely odd way your ID is spelled with some of the letters as numbers and some as actual letters… I can remember Jack's now but not yours!
Ah screw it, either do the MGS3 speedrun or do Silent Hill 2.
March 23, 2013 at 7:20 am #73094scotty243Member@ Seibei
I knew someone was going to mentioned SoTC!! I've actually been wanting to play that game for the longest, too, so maybe that's a good choice? Vanquish sounds like fun as well so that could come into play sometime later on
March 23, 2013 at 7:56 am #73096Seibei4211MemberI've done Vanquish before. That's the game that inspired me to make my second account. It does look fun, but the controls are a little weird. And you overheat a little more often than you would like. It's a weird game. But I did beat it, so there's that.
Edit: Yeah, SotC is great. The Platinum takes a while though. You have to do a Normal playthrough, the Normal time trials, then you essentially need to do a Normal New Game+ playthrough to get your stamina and health maxed out, cause it can't be done in one playthrough, I think. Then there's the Hard playthrough and Hard Time Attack. The HTA is where it all gets serious. Aside from the ridiculously hard time limit for one of them, there's also a number of others that take some serious skill (and sometimes luck) to beat. It's very time consuming, because the time limits are long, like, 10+ minutes, so if you mess up, it's a lot of stuff to redo. And even though the time limits are long for some, sometimes it's still really strict and you have to be quick. Those are the hardest kinds of time attacks. It's like the Chapter 2 speedrun in Mirror's Edge. 10+ minutes of being perfect.
March 23, 2013 at 5:44 pm #73098Doc-BMemberIf you want a game that is difficult, will last you a while and that you can play in between other games try Demons/Dark souls??
That comp. could go on for months and months…
Wipeout HD? Not sure how healthy the online for that is though…

The DR2 Plat. was boring as sh!t more than anything else… And the MP wasn't that great when the game was just out so I really doubt anyone would be playing it today and you need at least 4 people and even then the games are chosen at random…
I've yet to play SotC but I've read that the grip and climbing were changed quite a bit from the original Ps2 version, and that's why the HTA is as difficult as it is…
March 23, 2013 at 6:34 pm #73100Seibei4211MemberYeah. It uses the PAL version of the game, I think, and in that version, it's much easier to get stumbled. I did notice that during the game. But the time limits are the same in the NTSC and PAL versions. So it's just unnecessarily harder. The bosses where you're prone to stumbling are the ones with the hardest time limits. Honestly the only way to beat some of the times to exploit the game by forcing an unbreakable grip or in the case of HTA 3, use a shortcut that you're normally not meant to use.
Although in the case of HTA 3, even if the grip and stuff was normal, I still don't know how you could possibly beat the time limit legitimately.
March 23, 2013 at 6:44 pm #73102gr8jrfanMemberSilent Hill 2 is out of the question? Oh well. I'm betting on Jesus.
March 24, 2013 at 2:54 am #73106scotty243MemberI'd do Silent Hill 2 HD, to be honest. I wonder if Jack could lend me some tips though…
