May 7, 2009 at 10:36 pm #24797PS3 TrophiesKeymasterYou'll also get access to the beta if you're a Qore subscriber.
May 7, 2009 at 10:41 pm #24798gamer47MemberPreordering Infamous and gaining access to the Uncharted 2 beta is also true for Canada/USA. It was the “electrifying announcement” that kept scrolling across the PSN news bar lol. Theres a video of footage and more details downloadable as well.

i think you have to pre-order it from best buy.
i pre-order inFamous from EB Games 2 days ago, and i got nothing. I dont want the beta anyways though gonna wait for real game…
May 8, 2009 at 1:51 am #24816gamer47MemberI just rewatched the promo trailer for this and it doesn't specify anything. You could be absolutely right though, I have no idea. I'm just going by the video. It says all who preorder infamous will receive a Multiplayer Beta Voucher for Uncharted 2 while supplies last. And it also had small print saying: Beta Available 6/3-6/28/2009 (I paused on screen lol).
So maybe you get your voucher inside the actual case for infamous if it was a preorder? The video also shows both cover arts side by side and on the infamous one it has a sticker saying “Includes Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta Voucher”
Anyway good luck with your preorder from EB. It should have the beta when you get it, if not that's kind of silly they didn't specify it as a Best Buy promotion. Although, if you don't care about the beta, it won't matter either way!
May 8, 2009 at 2:32 am #24817parnakasMemberit does matter…cuz then im getting ripped off!!! even though i dont want it, i still must get it cuz i pre-ordered. The promo sticker was on a Best Buy pre-order box, so thats where i got the idea of it being exclusive to Best Buy
games are becoming rip-offs too, at EB, games are $69.99! with taxes it comes out to $82!!!!!
almost 100$ for a single game… im only buying games that i know will last a longgg time…
SCREW MONEY!!!!!!!May 8, 2009 at 3:00 am #24820gamer47MemberI never buy anything from EB… i find they're even bigger rip offs then the rest.. but that's just me. Maybe call them up and ask them? Because ur right, you are being ripped off if you don't get it.
I also agree games are becoming ridiculously expensive.. especially for those with a base price of say $60, that take 4 hours to beat and have little to no replay value. I try to refrain from buying video games. That being said I looked into it and signed up with gameaccess.ca. Have you heard of it? It's the Canadian equivalent to Game Fly and works wonderfully… waiting for the games to ship can sometimes be annoying though. It cost me $120 for a 6 month subscription. I get 2 games out at a time and can keep them for as long as I want. The company is located in Montreal… I usually get the games in 3-5 days. I honestly can't complain though because it gives me access to games I otherwise may not have played for the price of purchasing 2 retail games at $60 each. It even beats renting from Rogers Video… the last time I rented there it cost me $10 for 5 days.
Anyway, check it out if you're interested
May 8, 2009 at 2:29 pm #24835KILLER369MemberOMG! U.S n canada are ripoffs. over here our NEW games cost around 20-39.99 pounds, so double that, your games should be 40-69.99 dollars. but $80!!!!! rip off

I know, eh? EB Games are con artists. The prices on their games is ridiculous and the fact that they can open a game and charge you the price of a brand-new game is utter bullshit. The only reason I continue to go to them is A) their trade-in credit can be decent at times and, B) the exclusive incentives you receives are sometimes too good to pass up. I pre-ordered Wolverine from them so I could receive the code to unlock the Danger Room levels. Otherwise, yeah, I'd rather go to Blockbuster or Future Shop to buy my games.

So you recommend Game Access then? I've been looking at that site for a while now. Just haven't been able to justify just renting games and not owning them. It's definitely a really great deal by the looks of it, though. Where about in Canada are you from?
@ KILLER369
US charges $59.99 for their game while Canada has to pay the ridiculous $69.99 for our games because our exchange rate is lower than the US. You say your games only cost 39.99 pounds which looks a lot better than $69.99, however, when the exchange in converted, your 39.99 pounds equals $69.87 Canadian. You're basically paying the same for your game as I am, you just get paid more at work.
May 8, 2009 at 4:48 pm #24842KILLER369Memberlol. yeah i know but $80.99?

After taxes, yes. Before taxes, same price as yours. Unforunately, taxes suck but they must be paid.
May 8, 2009 at 5:40 pm #24855KILLER369Memberwhy do you have to pay tax on games enyway?

I do recommend game access. As I mentioned, the only drawback is having to wait for your games. But you can make the best of it if you sign up to receive 2 or more games at one time. Just make sure you always keep one game in your possession.. so while another one ships, it won't matter because you still have something to play. They offer package deals from 1-4 games out at a time. You get discounts if decide to pay for 6 months all upfront. What I did was sign up for a trial month (back in February)… the trial month is cheaper and if you don't like the service you just cancel. Anyway, I loved it so after the first month I jumped straight into the 6 month subscription, I got 20% off billing for doing this. It's now mid-may and I'm just receiving my 14th game from them (my brother and I share the rentals so he can get games for PSP or Wii, etc). I'll be getting a steady supply of games up until September which is perfect because then univeristy starts again. Oh and I live in London Ontario.. 7-9 hrs driving distance from Montreal which is where the company is at. I have had no issues whatsoever with games being lost or broken.
I think the only reason I wouldn't recommend it is if you live in Western Canada… I heard the shipping takes upwards of 5 days. But yeah, definitely check it out… I think you can get a trial month for like $10 if you just rent out one game at a time. Really nothing to lose 🙂
Sorry for the novel.. I'm passionate about my gameaccess. hahaha

It was a very enjoyable novel, thanks!
Maybe add chapters to it next time though so I at least have a point to take a break.
I'm in Thunder Bay, ON, which is about 9 hours East of Winnipeg so I'm not that much further than you. Not too far West, anyway.
Okay, well, I'm going to go now before I accidentally say the wrong thing about Game Access and then you come after me to kill me… you know, being that you're so passionate about it and all.
