Hugh Jackman rids of his accent in many movies . Dont forget about Xmen 1,2and3 . Also Xmen Origins . Forget this . Trust me , even if they find an actor whos gunna play Elena , Sully ,or Roman? . Theres so much process the movie wont be out for a looooong time .
October 29, 2009 at 1:23 am #48029MiiiitchMemberAs long as they stay true to the storyline of Uncharted i have no problem with Hugh Jackman playing Drake, for the role of Wolverine it’s obvious that he grows his hair and sideburns but in this modern era we have these great things called barbers as some of you seem to be forgeting so making Hugh look like Drake would be easy. Nolan North would not be a good Drake he dressed up in a suit for motion capture and provided the voice but that was for a game so no movie experience=FAIL so i hope they go with Hugh. Seriously it seems like you’s want to see a crap movie as long as the guy plaing Drake looks perfectly like him.
October 29, 2009 at 1:26 am #48030parnakasMemberMiiitch – i know they can make virtually any actor look like drake, but im just talking about acting skill..
Jackman is ok, but i really cant see him as Drake. And btw, Drake is the main character, so the actor that plays him will pretty much carry the whole movie.

He is already doing a broadway movie with Daniel Craig and he already said he is on for Xmen:Origins 2 . Hes too busy and popular to play this role , but then again you never know . I can see a small time actor playing Drake , young , heavy build , and great sense of humour .

Fair enough thats your opinion on Jackman his numerous awards and box office hits cleary state otherwise, but if i’m not mistaken and i’m not going to dig through threads but weren’t you one of the many people who said that Nolan North should play Drake?? Voice acting=No acting skil tbh.

i dont believe i said Nolan should play Drake.. i said he looks like him. Maybe i did say that though.. my memory is bad lol
Yea i agree with you there, Voice acting really has nothing do real acting.
October 29, 2009 at 8:40 am #48077xxKnightmarExxMemberJackman just doesn't fit the Nathan Drake profile, he seems to rugged rather than comical. He is cool and everything but…he couldn't do it for me.
October 29, 2009 at 10:00 am #48079monkeymoobsMembernolan north is also an actor but he hasnt done anything famous just tv shows as much as i would love him to play drake he doesn't rally look too much alike to him
October 29, 2009 at 12:14 pm #48082W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberNolan North is a great actor . And is an ACTOR . How is making out cutscenes and clearly talking not acting ? I mean atleast hes there and doing every movement Drake does so there shouldnt be any argument . Saying its just voice acting i find is an insult , i mean Nolan brings drake up the next level , and he sure as hell isnt doing voice work for some new Disney character either . Despite that , like i said i cant imagine him playing Nate , or Hugh , or even Matthew , because when i picture Hugh i can only imagine the big Wolverine afro , so id have to see for myself .
October 29, 2009 at 1:30 pm #48089georgeworldMemberI'd personnaly see Joe Flanigan doing Drake. He got the looks, voice, i personally like his acting. Okay, he's a little thinnier than Drake, but i think i could go over that.

It’s voice acting so deal with it, yes i am fully aware of how the scenes were made for the Uncharted series but there is a major difference between shooting a few hours of cutscences which can be majorly edited and a movie which can also be edited yes but requires real time expressions and emotion to pull off a scene which in a game are all just fabricated by the developers. I’m not ripping on Nolan North but i personally would not part with cash to see a movie where the main actor has made his name as a voice actor, it’s just not the same case closed.
October 29, 2009 at 4:47 pm #48102BigWoopMagazineMember@mitttttch – its not really case closed that easily. First off, most voice actors are just better at changing the intonation and pitch of their voices and prefer to use that skill, rather than be screen actors. It really give them the advantage of being able to play more characters when they aren't easily recognized. This doesn't mean they can't act, it just means they recognize what their preference is. Many screen actors have being doing the reverse, and going to voice acting at times (which many voice actors dislike) [see: Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Mark Hamill, etc]. I say give the guy a shot, you haven't seen his acting, so how can anyone say he's unable? Hopefully casting of the movie will be based on an on screen performance, and they'll determine if hes good to go. I don't go watch movies based on who's in it, I go based on the plot… unfortunately, that leads to me going and watching Max Payne, where the plot was almost totally destroyed, and the two famous screen actors in it played some of the flattest roles I've ever seen. So, I'm probably totally wrong in this opinion.
That said, Hugh Jackman – good choice. I mean geez guys, ever heard of make up?
Matt M. – Terrible choice. Appearances aside, this is not his role. They'll bring him in to get a female audience, but not for any actual talent, and that'd be pretty lame.
Elena – Natalie Portman – the perfect cutie for this role, good actress.
Sully – tough choice… Gene Hackman, Jack Nicholson, Tommy Lee Jones?
Really, I don't want to see big name actors. I want to recognize the characters as the characters, not as some actor I've seen a million times over.
October 29, 2009 at 7:56 pm #48111W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMember@ BigWoop – Im afraid Gene Hackman has retired from acting , but he would be really good . He is defo one of my favourite older aged actors .
@Miitch . First off , dont get so overworked . Its not voice acting just because they use thier voice , they are still doing movements , facial expression etc . Besides , you dont think they ve had pre experience , so going to drama school , acting lessons are sure to pay off .
