I have ordered this game, and am looking foward to getting it. I didn't preorder and wasn't going to get it before christmas, but I played it for about thirty seconds at my mate's house and was addicted!
My question is, how hard is the veteran difficulty? I was looking through the trophy list, and it seems feasible that all the solo trophies could be achieved in one play through.
November 14, 2008 at 11:48 pm #19480tree2167Memberi will tell you that considering im quite good at the game that veteran is no walk in the park i have been stuck on relentless for over a day now and its stating to piss me off
November 15, 2008 at 2:03 pm #19484gamerbenMemberit is very very hard
i die about 20 times for each checkpoint, probably more
November 17, 2008 at 2:48 am #19500HypnosisMemberAgreed. I too am playing through on veteran and although its possible, its seems like it is just barely lol.
Tree2167 Those are the words I didnt want to hear lol. I am currently at relentless myself. I havnt tried the level yet as I needed a break after burn them out. Looks like I am in for some more super tough fun.
Gamerben, I am with ya on that one. I die many many times myself just trying to get to a checkpoint. I hate the really long ones, like that checkpoint in their land their blood. the one that starts just across the stream there and you have to make it all they way to under the bridge. Well if you go right I found out lol. I you go left there is one that is slightly closer but still a really tough fight nonetheless.
Wish me luck on relentless when i attempt it, and I wish you all luck on your veteran runthrough.
Oh be sure to share any helpful tips you might find to help with certain levels and I will do the same if I find any that work lol
November 19, 2008 at 5:23 am #19505pobert06MemberVeteran Difficulty is hellishly harder than i thought it would be…just seeing a checkpoint makes it more comfortable..I have some good experience with COD 4 Modern Warfare thinking this will be a walk in the park…but I'm greatly mistaken as when i started in the first level I already died 20 times..lol
November 19, 2008 at 10:49 am #19510jamesb5374MemberI have started it on Veteran, and yes it is hard! Although it does seem to be do-able because your colleagues in the game actually seem to be quite intelligent.

if it's no walk in the park then how come most of the veteran trophies r bronze and not glod or silver

how about instead of being an idiot and not realizing that you cant have a game of 45 gold and silver trophies you must realize they must be earned and beating the game on on veteran earns you a gold trophy witch is just. dont be an idiot next time you post
November 24, 2008 at 10:42 am #19574PS3 TrophiesKeymasterTake it easy tree2167, just because someone asks something which you think is stupid doesn't give you the right to call them an idiot!
To stay on topic it's quite hard, haven't finished Veteran yet, have about 1/3 left I believe. Some parts are very frustrating, grenades everywhere and once you pop out of cover to take a look — boom you're dead 🙂 It's not even fun, you need patience and patience, and some patience!
November 24, 2008 at 10:49 am #19576edge4eva32MemberI agree it takes a tremendous amout of patience on Veteran. I got killed by the godly sniper on vendetta. I was stuck there for hours. Then I beat him by pure luck, to only find out I cannot get past the shooters in the windows and fire before going up the stairs. I gave up on that level. Now I am stuck on their land, their blood. the part where there is a huge brawl going on. billions of grenades everywhere. and each bullet will kill you instanty for some reason.
November 26, 2008 at 4:41 pm #19610Fe77a7iMemberI nearly gave in but have completed it on Veteran on my 1st playthrough. Try to learn the routines/positions of enemies and find trigger locations and checkpoints to succeed. Nothing compares to ‘Heart of the Reich’ for difficulty. You will be trying for hours on that level.
November 26, 2008 at 7:32 pm #19612btwo5Membercompleted it on veteran the first week they difficult on heart of reich for bout 5hours longest mission ever
jus keep at the missions u will soon do it gets u pi**ed of easily jus stay at it

It will be a while before I play it again, as Resistance 2 dropped through my letterbox yesterday 🙂

yeah me too…i got stuck in their land, their blood for effin days..i nearly gave up the game after that…but i got some tactic you can use…
when you first arrive in that area wait for your team to kill both enemies in the front of you arrived…after they kill them both…quickly run to the right side and flank the machine gunner..just remember to hide and throw back grenades if possible..if not just run back then crouch..after you wiped out the machine gun part run to the left side and wait for enemies to pop out of the tunnel then shoot and kill them all..after that run to tunnel from where the machinegunner was then quickly hide in the nearest place where the enemies will kill you then reznov and crew will do the rest..after that, the rest is history…
now i'm stuck in Relentless in the flame tank part..hordes of endless japanese attackers..
