i dont think a billion would buy U3 lol.
And i also doubt a billion people will buy MW3.. because of the negative response MW2 has been getting.
I also hated the Arkham Asylum ending.. yes, it was good, but the game should have been waayy longer imo. They had so much to work with.

I forgot about Assassin's Creed 2 having a bit of a crap ending. Although I did get a bit bored of the story about half way through so this might explain it.
Yes cliffhangers can be annoying but deep deep down inside you know you love them guys!!! What could they have done instead of GOW2 ending. I think thats the rule for second games of the series or even films for that matter. Give a huge ass cliffhanger even though you didn't know the first one was going to be so popular so you made two more that tie together so “fantastically”. Somewhere in that rant is a contradiction I think! lol
No…. I don't. Its complete bullshit. See, I liked Uncharted 2's ending a lot. It wrapped up the loose ends, you get the girl, you take out the asshole, its all good. If they want to make a 3rd, its wide open to do that, but they could leave it as is and its a complete story. The cliffhanger ending is a total gimmick to get you to buy the next one, and its lame. Super lame. GOW2 could have ended a number of different ways, but since it was originally planned as a trilogy, I'll allow it. It still pissed me off. MW2 however, was a shitty gimmicky hidden cliffhanger, they never even acknowledge the fact that you haven't accomplished your goal. If you have to plan a cliffhanger in order to make sales on the next sequel, its because you know that the story mode was crap in the first place, and you need a gimmick to make sales on the next one.
For GoW2-I didn't know the game had ended.I thought it was a cutscene.
For MW2-I liked the ending,it was like a movie one.*********SPOLER ALERT*********Price and Soap wanted to revenge Ghost and Roach,Shepherd was the main antagonist to them.So in MW3,Makarov may not even appear.
@Parnakas-Modern Warfare 2 getting negative response? Then why the hell do people buy it?
January 12, 2010 at 10:48 pm #55244d4h8a15r16m23a42MemberPeople are buying it because generally you can't respond to something until after it happens, as in this case after you've bought and played it.
As for the ending i really didn't mind it, it was the length that was disapointing.
I agree that i did not enjoy the end to Fallout 3! But hate; that's a little too strong of an emotion for me to have towards a piece of entertainment.

Well, obviously people bought it, because it is a great game, and the previous CD games have been great. However, almost everyone i have spoken to is done with MW2, have stopped playing it, and are usually complaining about noobs or stuff like that..
And the review were not as good as they should've been! Wheres all those GotY awards that everyone said it was going to get? Oh yea.. Uncharted 2 took them all..
Anywho, d4h8awhatever(lol) – I guess your right, hate is a bit strong of a word for a piece of entertainment.. but the Resistance 2 ending was just terrible..
January 13, 2010 at 8:16 am #55281emdeepeeMemberMetal Gear Solid on PS1.
Game was soooooo good I just didn't want it to end

Wow it is great to see that we feel the very same way about MW2 and U2 🙂 U2 was definitely the better game overall.
As far as the topic of this thread, there are countless games that have just plain horrible endings. MW2 is definitely the most recent one. I can't even remember a lot of the original PSOne games that horrible endings as there was quite a few of them, haha

i dont think a billion would buy U3 lol. but yeah who gives a f****NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** if theyre amazing? simple question.
i also liked RE5's ending.
Yeah i know a billion wouldn't i was just using that as an example because it seems some are saying that the only reason that MW2 ended the way it did was to make way for a sequel but thats not the way sh*t works. If a series is successful then it usually will get a sequel because it'll make the developers money which is why they are in the business in the first place eg. U2 and MW2
I also liked RE5's ending, hope we have a sequel coming in the near future.

Don't know about a billion people buying it, but its done $1 billion in retail sales. Probably boosted by people like my sister-in-law who bought it for her 7 year old son. Doh!!!
January 13, 2010 at 6:00 pm #55315KnoxieMemberi agree mitch.
guys, i dont want to get into this again, but basically my full friends list plays MW2, and ermmm, ive only saw 1 play U2 in the last week i think – that says something. imo it isnt ALWAYS about reviews, it can be about how many people play the game that indicates how good it is, and we all know which is the most played here by a LONG shot.
once i finish mw2/ac2/borderlands im sure i'll have more to contribute to the actual topic.
January 13, 2010 at 6:55 pm #55319BigWoopMagazineMember@knoxie – just because your friends list is full of people playing mw2, doesn't mean ours is. the only people on mine that are, are from this website, and one of my coworkers, who won't stop trying to get me to play when I repeatedly tell him I'm playing borderlands instead. You play it a lot, of course you are going to have friends who play it too. duh.
January 13, 2010 at 7:14 pm #55321MiiiitchMemberI usually have about 10 people playing MW2 some from here, i've noticed that alot more people are getting back to U2 so i have a question: was the online bad at first like connectivity wise?

Well, many people I've spoken to,think that the game is absolutely brilliant, especially the multiplayer.I guess that opinions vary.
And about the lenght-I wouldn't have minded a few more missions too,but no biggie.Fallout 3 is a RPG,and Modern Warfare is a FPS,so don't compare them please.

I must say , its getting pretty damn good . Connections have never been a problem for me , its just more of the fact how much damage on character online can take . If Modern Warfare 2 is pissing you off then Uncharted 2 is deffinately a game to go back to , i never get tired of the character design and just admiring the scenery is enough to make go in awe . It sucks really how much potential this game has and only half of it has been filled , some new weapons , multiplayer maps , coop objectives and on forth really can make the game completely different for the better. Try it out man im sure you wont regret it . Just be aware that if you havent been on the game in a while there is some sort of update , mine took me a good 7 minutes so dont let that get in your way of playing it again .

ummmmmm HELL NOO! Sure U2 had a better story BY A LITTLE! only cause it wasnt a cliffhanger and it was longer (plus Drake makes it funny). But MW2's online CRUSHES U2's….U2's cant even begin to compete with MW2's…. so no, not everyone feels the same way.
