March 26, 2009 at 9:42 pm #22322HypnosisMemberMe personally. I find Xplay's reviews highly accurate on games. Pobert I saw that same episode. They did not give it a 3 out of 5 for the things that could be considered racist. he said thats not even really the term he would use. He said something along the lines of images from our dark past. They had nothing to do with gmeplay they were just there and he thought the game could have done without some of them. They gave it a 3 out of 5 due to the fact that the game cant be completed because the ai of your partner( the girl character, cant remember her name) was completely useless. It has to be done with a real person playing co-op. And the fact that you have a limited inventory that has to be accessed in real time. Another reason they knocked it was that fact that the genre made no real improvements in game mechanics, when so many other games in similar genres and gameplay styles have.
I played the demo and found that not being able to move while shooting or even pivot is just rediculous.

i have to disagree, X-PLAYS review mostly suck, due to the fact that they are X-BOTS, they worship the 360
they are always finding ways to say ps3 suks, 360 is best which is stupid..March 27, 2009 at 4:02 am #22332Ratchet525MemberHey you know what i noticed on IGN. If you looked at the game of the year and you clicked on lets say best action game and the game would be a multi-platfrom game, then instead of showing it on all 3 consoles it will only show the 360 version.
March 31, 2009 at 4:42 am #22610HypnosisMemberparnakas- I agree thats what re series has always been about. I have played them all and have to give them credit for sticking to their ways of control. I was just hoping that with so many advances in gaming play style and controls that they would have moved on and made that aspect of the series a little more realistic. Just my opinion though

April 2, 2009 at 9:30 pm #22812gamer47MemberThe most important thing for me in deciding whether or not to buy a game is critically thinking about whether I'll LOVE the game. at $60 a crack, I want to be making a good decision.
Playing a demo is super helpful. If I can sit down and get a feel for the game that's all I really need. If I get disinterested or frustrated with the gaming mechanics simply from a demo, then thats a good indication I won't like the game. Of course demos arent always available, either way I'll always… watch gameplay footage, look at many different review sources, talk to friends and get their opinions, check out forums, etc etc.
Even after all that I'm still super picky. The game has to have substance. If I can beat the game in 5 hours, and there is little to no incentive to replay it, then to me, it isnt worth it.
Oh and GTA San Andreas owns!! I'm thinking GTA IV was just a basic release to get the game series name out onto the next gen platforms… not quite a beta, but not quite Rockstars best work. I think the next GTA release will go far above and beyond. At least I hope. Regardless, I love GTA.
