I got a message with this link in my email. The PS3 is turning into what it was made for, a home entertainment system. It isn’t a console by defination, and they said when it was released that it isn’t a console, it is a home entertainment system to drop the price of sertian things like Tax, and this I believe is one of the criteras for it. Any ideas?
The only problem I see with it is this:
They are going to put up popular music… Nothing that is awesome, like Lamb of God, Blue October, Led Zepplin… They will put shit up like ‘Lil’ Wayne and ‘Slim Shady’. All becasue they are popular. And if that happens, I for one wont be using it.May 27, 2009 at 3:13 pm #26813BigWoopMagazineMemberInteresting. I would think they would at least give you a choice of genre… clearly rap isn't for everyone, and neither is rock or metal. Although you just can't argue with zeppelin… ahhh zeppelin… and just like that, you can't argue with free, which the article clearly states it is. Free is for me! however, I never got this e-mail from PSN, and when I click the link it gives me a country selection, and US is not on the list…. so maybe thats just for eu? I would give this a shot, even though I'm sure you're right that it will be mostly or all mainstream music.

Surely the videos that are available will cater towards the gaming demographic.
I can't imagine there's too many gamers that listen to Leona Lewis, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus etc……………… although I could be wrong 😉

Terrible music its showing there, but as pokenny said they are going for a “home entertainment system”, so unfortunately emdeepee they probably will not cater to the gaming community. That might be good for them, but most likely bad for us.
May 27, 2009 at 7:43 pm #26847MiiiitchMemberseems to be an ok idea, not my cup of tea but i’m sure some will enjoy.

DAMN STRAIGHT! Bring on the MEEEEETAAAAL!
Achem excuse me for my outburst…
May 28, 2009 at 11:31 pm #26988parnakasMemberNOOOO they better put REAL music on the damn thing. Not this popular crap that makes no sense.
If there is no Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Doors or Iron Maiden, im not interested.
and sorry for being an asshole but Pokkeny, you spelt LED ZEPPELIN wrong. I'm sorry, but im a zep freak like that
May 29, 2009 at 3:04 pm #27054BigWoopMagazineMemberhahaha, good one parnakas… I noticed that too. I'm saying they should give us the options tho… sometimes I'm in a zep mood, sometimes I want some harder metal like between the buried and me, and sometimes I want some happy-go-lucky bullshit like the beastie boys. How is that happy go luck you may ask? cause they make me laugh… but the tag I see that concerns me is that its free… and while free is good, it usually doesn't provide you with the options you want… and then eventually they go “oh well you can have those options, but gimme money first”.

May 29, 2009 at 4:45 pm #27059XeroTheGreatMemberLooks good, but I agree with Parnakas, they better have decent stuff on there.

unfortunately, sony will probably not put the greatest band on the face of the earth in this. Instead, they want to put all this mainstream-no-talent crap…. shame.
