The title basically says it all. Looking through my trophy list I honestly think Im not getting the personal satisfaction I should be. With a varied collection of games summing up to 24 Platinums, I really wish sometimes Sony would add the feature of actually deleting trophies, at the players expense ofcourse. The decision has been pratically made already, but I figured I would leave the rest up to you guys. My idea is simple, end W4RG34R at what it is and start from scratch. My list will consist of games I own only, and whoring the list is pretty much not an option.
On the bright side, games like Terminator Salvation will no longer kill other games on my list like Batman:Arkham Asylum. The downside, not only will I be losing hours of time dedicated to games like Saboteur, alot of games on my list were also sold and or rented. Overall, having this ID was one hell of a good time, great friends met, and great memories to remember. I also hope any previous rivalries will be erased once Im through with the ID, a fresh start is always nice. Once the final decision has been made, I might or might not be publicly posting my new ID. I plan to keep it pretty close on friends, but prior friends will most likely be re added.
Your oppinions matter guys. Post it up.

good luck
April 29, 2010 at 2:04 am #61428GHOST305MemberSo Let me get this straight…Your going to delete your profile bc you cannot get anymore trophies? Why? That makes no sense to me. Why not keep your name bc its how we all know you, Your name is what defines you, not your trophies.

I can get trophies. The whole point is that Im honestly tired of the trophy race. I would much rather enjoy games for what they are rather than juice them out quickly until they are dry.
April 29, 2010 at 2:08 am #61430I773D33MABL3MemberI'm sure the idea sounds great in your head but can you honestly see yourself playing through all of your games again? I'm assuming you're proud of most of your plats and you'll want them back.
But with the rate of top-notch releases for the PS3 can you honestly say you'll find the time or interest to go back over old ground?
Add to that the fact that any online trophies you got are probably for games that are dead now.
If having rented/borrowed games on your list bothers you then just buy the games. If they're old then they'll be dirt cheap.
April 29, 2010 at 2:12 am #61431MiiiitchMemberI get where your coming from Nick, with a recent promotion at work I now am bound to a day and a half off per week so I'm over the whole trophy thing as well. I'd say keep your ID though as I personally thinks it's a cool ID and honestly if anyone thinks differently of you for having a few easy plats then who cares mate you bought/rented the games so nobody's opinion should matter.
April 29, 2010 at 2:15 am #61432W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberActually I have been having the urge to play some platinums I had gotten around my 10 Marker. After pretty much becoming addicted to Uncharted 2, I was considering playing the whole series again. And considering I never actually platinumed the original, perhaps its not such a bad idea. Batman: Arkham Asylum still remains one of my favourite games out there, so there is always satisfaction in revisiting it, especially when knowing a sequel is on its way. In regards to other games its just a matter of what I am in the mood for. As of now I wont be getting many major releases aside from the new Skate. And with summer along the way I have plenty of time.
Im actually curious what your platinum/trophy count is 1773. Share?
April 29, 2010 at 2:21 am #61433Ratchet525MemberI don't really care what you do as it is your choice, but i think its a dumb idea. Good Luck as i said

Then do JUST THAT. Dont worry about everyone else and trying to beat them in trophies. I get more satisfaction out of beating them in multiplayer games. Ill admit that, at one point, I was into the trophy race as well. But lately, with so many games coming out, ive learned to just play them game and enjoy it and not worry about the trophies. If you have people on your friends list that may bother you with messages about the number of trophies they have, forget about them. Hell, send them a message saying that your not into the whole trophy race thing anymore and you just wanna join the game.
April 29, 2010 at 4:17 am #61438The GeneralMemberThis would be crazy. If you want to replay games, then replay games. Don't worry about the trophies, or the so-called “race”. You have a nice collection. No need to toss it aside, for whatever reasons.
April 29, 2010 at 4:24 am #61439edge4eva32MemberHey W4R, I am doing the same thing right now. I am rarely on my edge4eva32 ID. I started a new ID and replaying my favorites so that I no longer have 0% or plats for really horrible games anymore. So from my experience, it has been much more fun this way replaying my favorite games and still hearing that familiar “ding” sound lol
April 29, 2010 at 5:14 am #61440KarloS_28Memberthats why i created my new account too 🙂

Be sure to send me the new ID bro.
My final decision will be made Friday. Whatever the outcome I still plan on keeping W4R accessible, keeping my stats on the leaderboards. But I just probably wont be using it on a daily basis.
April 29, 2010 at 2:31 pm #61444Doc-BMemberI also have 2 profiles… One for myself and another just for whatever…
My main account is my UK (Doc-B/level 13) – I use that to play most of my own games, and keep a bunch of multimedia stuff. It's also how 99% of people i know identify me online, both with Ps3 and the WWW.
My other profile is a US (level 5) account, i use it to browse the US PSN store but also for playing games i borrow or rent. I also use it to check out games to see if i like them without gaining an unwanted trophy list – Or play really crappy games without anyone noticing, or even just to play through a game i really like again. Sometimes to help friends boost a trophy or two.
I feel that starting a whole new account is a waste, of time and effort. Why not just make it clear what you plan to do – Not fight, not whore and play “decent” games – on your old account? Block anyone you don't want dealings with and use Plat's like TS or any others deemed whore-ish to remind you never to whore again. You can change your attitude and outlook to your profile without starting fresh.
I would also say that starting a new profile and playing old games is an easy option to gain trophy's. But then again your not really gaining anything new, not moving forward… It's a step backwards!
And if you really want to change, doing so with your old account would be more proof that you have genuinely changed??
I would say – keep your old profile and push yourself to do better, don't just start again cause it's easier…
April 29, 2010 at 6:19 pm #61451pool96MemberWell W4R whatever decision you make good luck. If you do decide to start again with a new account make sure you get the ID to me somehow as we are still yet to play Uncharted.
