And why would you want to delete trophies? Who cares if they are there or not.
If you create a new account, i think it would be a waste of everything you have done, and plan on doing. Seriously man.
If you want to enjoy games more, just stop whoring. You don't need a new account to do that!

MemberMany of you bring up great points, that may possibly change my mind to the whole idea. Tough decision if you think about it. It cant be too hard considering Oz Metalhead was actually thinking of doing the same thing.

All im saying, is it would be stupid to delete your account. I understand that you might want to replay some games, but you can just replay them!
You can go back and beat games without worrying about getting any trophies, and you'll be fine!
I guess i still don't see the point of deleting all your previous work completely, just to replay some games. Just play them again!

In the end I have chosen to keep my Playstation I.D at what it is. After looking through some game saves I realise now what I can potentially lose in the end, including hours of Uncharted 2 Multiplayer and countless hours worth of platinums. As much as I would like to start over I can only imagine the regret after. I now realise that I can't platinum every game (Even though I would love too) to keep my list perfectly clean, but I can control what I play. Meaning I will be trying to control myself from actually whoring any games here on end, no matter how tempting it may be. I will also be trying to finish up some old games, mainly Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and keep another large basis of my time on games that deserve the attention like Uncharted 2's multiplayer.
Thanks for the support and posts guys, they were really supporting and supplied a large fraction of why Im still going to be situated on my current PSN.

MemberHey Nick, I am quitting my ID too. I have made a seperate thread on it which i urge you all to read.
Sure i have 84 Platinums on the account but once you read my thread you will know why i am quitting. Besides there are alot of games i really want to play and earn all the trophies on all over again. Mainly for self satisfaction and to prove i can do them again and because they look good to have. I really don't mind replaying games i enjoy. I replayed Oblivion many times, with thousands of hours of game time purely because i enjoyed it so much.
First game i am playing again is Fallout 3, but this time i am exploring EVERY nook and cranny, so far i have found many new interesting things i never knew were there. 🙂

MemberI dont understand the need to create a new PSN ID just because you dont want to be in the “Trophy race”. Someone care to explain?
May 4, 2010 at 1:51 am #61658MemberWell when you have so many trophies like i did, around the 4500 mark, you could be tempted to get back into the race. For me that race was becoming a real problem, effecting all aspects of my life. Only people with no real life or people who care little about whats really important can get up as high as i was. Either that or they don't have a full time job like me. I had to put family first so quitting the account was my best option, to remove all temptation.
Plus i want a 100% profile and it would have taken me way to long to get that on Oz-Metalhead.
