oh yeh, i think they call it that in canada & new zealand aswell…

but still, why is it called soccer ?

We call it Soccer in Canada as well.

We have the CFL (Canadian Football League) GO LIONS! and also have Soccer team: Go WHITECAPS!

If i had to give an answer to you iidinskster its because our style of Football is more popular over here.

Do you have anyone over there in Europe that plays American Football? What do they call it? Grid Iron football or American rules football? maybe even 'throw and kick' ball? just wondering.

Rugby, soccer and American Football are totaly different sports…

i prefer to play n btw rugby is loads more fun than american football tryed both but its to clumsy running wearing body armour i doesnt really hurt getting tackled anyway just pussys imo

lol. if you get in the NFL/CFL its WAY different. you can get hit VERY hard and brake something important just like you can in rugby.
