Thought id post my `story` rather explaining it, this way i can get rod of all the problems in my mind right now….
so, 30/12/09 my mum doesnt feel well a week later after nothing but bed rest the doctor diagnises here with food poisoning gives her some medicine to have the usual boring stuff you’d expect however the poisoning persisted and made her vommit and cough heavily, this eventually (we dont know when it happened) led to a twisted hernia, when my mum coldnt get up anymore we realised there was something wrong, we phoned in the doctor who didnt explain anything but just got a ambulance straight away (this was last monday), she had to undergo a emergency operation, which soon revealed a burst bowel from the hernia, the bowel had more or less been poisoning her with her own waste. she (very luckily) survived the operation, but was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (somewhere you dont want to be)
She was then placed in a High Dependancy Unit (not as bad as I.C.U but still closely monitored) last wednesday, i had a biology exam last friday lets just say my revision didnt go to well at all. She was placed in a normal ward eventually, and was brought home 2 days ago (tuesday)! you make thik this to be `great, she’s better and out of hosptial`, however one glance can tell you she shouldnt be out, she cant talk above a whisper, barely walk, and shes on 4 different drugs/medication, and she will go back to the hospital in 6 weeks time to check on her progress! great government eh? all this tax increase wheres that money going to? not to hospitals thats where, they need more beds etc (ive had quite a eye opener to say the least)
So where was my dad why all this crap is happening i hear you ask? well he’s got a severe foot infection, he’s only shown it to a doctor yesterday to to my exams etc, we know at least one toe has got to be amputated (seeing bone in 3 places is not right ), so this means im not going to be going to school for awhile (i live in the middle of nowhere so my dad drives me, even if i could get to school i cant go……..)
So this leaves me with looking after my ill mum, special needs sister and dog for awhile on my own (i cant get any family members to come other at this time) for awhile, i have exams to revise for, coursework dates coming up, housework to do, So thats my family’s story at the time, any you guys having as bad as luck as myself right now…..what a lovely start to 2010…

It Never Rains, But Pours…
Highly unlikely anyone's gonna beat that for a shit start to the year.
Hope everything works out okay for you.
January 21, 2010 at 7:21 pm #55981BigWoopMagazineMemberyeah I had a pretty bad shitstorm for the start of the year, but I'd say having such health problems within the family is worse. Mine was more of an fraud issue, with people using my credit cards and bullshit. It sucks that even though I “fixed” the problem, people checking my credit will still think I have bad credit.
It sounds like you live somewhere with “free health care” for everyone? If thats the case, well, you can blame that. With “free health care” for everyone, everyone gets shitty service at the hospitals. Without it, you get what you pay for. Its kind of a double edged sword, but on the without side a good health insurance policy would have hopefully kept your mom in the hospital to get continuous treatment. I'm sure the politics of the thing isn't really what you want to hear about, but I do think its shitty when your health care is limited by the government, and you actually need more. Sorry to hear about your troubles though dude, I hope your parents have a speedy recovery.
January 21, 2010 at 7:24 pm #55982christus11MemberBigWoopMagazine, I dont think you Americans understand “free” health care, its not free – we pay higher taxes but your right this guy doesnt want to talk about the politics
Kingofgames, Im sorry for your situation and I hope the rest of the year is better for you
January 21, 2010 at 7:48 pm #55986ecurryMemberMan that is pretty tough i would say if anyone here was nearby they would be willin to help you out. Hopefully you will be back to normality soon! My 2010 was ok(still job hunting 🙁 no health problems so far ! ) so far – it will be better if i get that job in HP, fingers crossed! I don’t now where you are but here in Ireland there pretty poor with the Health Service, I think most countries are in a similar situation with the recession. You have my thoughts dude 🙁
January 21, 2010 at 8:35 pm #55988pool96Memberwow dude your luck is not going great right now. I hope everything works out all right for your parents.
January 21, 2010 at 9:36 pm #55993parnakasMemberYikes… don't worry man..

January 22, 2010 at 2:23 am #56058tdsoil2Memberreally hope it gets better man
January 24, 2010 at 6:35 pm #56181shadeblackParticipanti was in a similar situation a while ago when i was in school.
just explain to the school the situation and they should give you a time extension.
health services are a commonly talked about issue right now. it's a shame that in america, obama wanted to set things right with the health plan. But now that the republican's have the 41st seat in the senate, im not sure if it's going to happen.
