There's been a lot of talk about Sony offering some sort of compensation for the outage but I can't see why they would. As Doc has mentioned in another thread; even the Pentagon was hacked into, there is no system that is totally impregnable.
Why would Sony have to apologise for there being assholes out there?

the answer is they wouldnt but it definately would be cool if they did. I honestly dont care if they do, i just want a safer psn which is what they are doing so….
May 1, 2011 at 7:30 am #69584HardAndSloppyMemberjust watched some of the press conference and everyone is getting some piece of “content” (game/dlc), and 1 month of psn + for EVERYONE. sounds good to me.
May 1, 2011 at 8:06 am #69586gr8jrfanMemberThat’s incredibly generous seeing how it was only down for 2 weeks. Maybe that will get the idiots who want to sue to shut the hell up.

Presumably, those who are already PS+ members will get an extra month for free at the end of their subscription??
Getting back on topic I've finished off the SP for Bulletstorm, nearly finished KZ3 so will move on to MK then. Can't see me touching the Challenges as I'm shutting down my rental membership shortly. Rather be out in the sun (not that we get much of it in the UK and even less in Wales!!).
May 1, 2011 at 11:13 am #69590pobert06MemberIt's been awhile since I posted here . I haven't played online for almost a month since I completely finished Crysis 2. Then when I was gonna play some BFBC2 online, too my disappointment this happened.Since then, I've been stucking playing some Portal 2 in Split-screen with my brother which we completely finished in a day . I'm currently stuck at 90% until PSN is back up.
If this continues throughout May, then it looks like no online games and less playing time on my PS3 and more going outside

@emdeepee you are correct, current members of ps+ will also recieve 30 days free service.
Also, I've heard a lot of people saying that the online service will be back on tuesday, so hopefully that's true!
May 1, 2011 at 6:42 pm #69593I773D33MABL3MemberWelcome back man, always nice to see an old head returning.
On-topic:
PS+ free for thirty days is a bit of a win for Sony. Considering that once your time is up any content you downloaded will be unusable, there's quite a few people that will decide to continue with it so they can keep their stuff.
May 1, 2011 at 8:11 pm #69594kingofgames73MemberSee if anyone remembers this old dog ;P
I've actually been away on holiday for sometime, thus i didn't know quite hat was happening except for the odd small article in the newspapers on it. Therefore it hasn't affected me too much until now.
Last Thursday was my birthday, and the wednesday night i went to see former australian pink floyd, now Britfloyd live at Llandudno, and must say it was one hell of a concert! would easily recommend these guys to any pink floyd fans, they're doing a uk tour at the moment, if you like Pink Floyd, you will not be dissapointed with these guys!
Anyway, looking forward to going back online now, need to get some club races done on test Drive Unlimited 2…
May 5, 2011 at 4:53 pm #69614khaoschickMember@HardAndSloppy – Thanks, I'll check it out for sure then! And yes, L.A. Noire has definitely caught my interest as well.
@iruleu- Thanks for the suggestion!May 6, 2011 at 12:49 am #69617GHOST305MemberWith the network down, I've been playing White Knight Chronicles as well as other long, single player, RPG game (FFXIII, Fallout: New Vegas to name a few).
@ kog: How could anyone forget such a dedicated person to this site 😉 welcome back.

I'd estimate that I've picked up roughly 80 trophies since PSN went down. Got Blood Stone arriving today so that should put me somewhere around the 100 mark once everything is back up and running.
Think I may even have hit Level 20, we'll see

same here . Once PSN gets back online,I'll be getting my Platinum #99 Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing then my #100 Portal 2. I've gotten all of the offline trophies of both games in 2 days. Must be my craving for online that I've breezed thru both games.
