June 22, 2011 at 3:20 am #70013HardAndSloppyMemberI was looking for some help on deciding what to buy, game wise, this year. I already pre-ordered uncharted 3 and battlefield 3, and was going to pre-order elder scrolls 5 soon. But I have been thinking about cancelling my preorder for bf3 and putting it towards batman arkham city instead. I am pretty bored with shooters so i was unsure of whether to cancel bf for batman. what do u guys think?
June 22, 2011 at 8:27 am #70014gr8jrfanMemberI’m at a loss on what to play after platinuming MK. I was thinking of revisiting New Vegas but I got stuck in a rock and didn’t have any explosives on me and I lost hours of progress to that retardation…. I think I’ll just wait for all the DLC to release and play it then. HardAndSloppy, you face a tough decision. Battlefield 3 will have more content and I’m rooting for that game to replace COD. Every sale counts. Also, everything about it just looks killer. It doesn’t look like a routine shooter, they’re adding features to make it a more user friendly, realistic experience. DICE are my favorite company to handle an MP, they care about their customers. It will be the next bold step and it will be the future of FPS, just you wait. On the other hand, there is the brilliant Arkham City, where the story will be absolutely amazing and possibly better than the first. I also have great faith in Rocksteady, who care equally about their customers. This is just my opinion, but I think sequels aren’t always as good as the originals. I just have a gut feeling that BAA will be better. Which is acceptible, seeing as how the game was hard to top. I haven’t been following BAC that intensely, but from what I picked up, Joker won’t have that huge a role in the sequel. I liked BAC’s roster better with Joker at the top of the list. But once again, I have faith that Rocksteady will make an extraordinary gaming experience. Just my opinion, I think you shouldn’t cancel your Battlefield 3 pre order.

June 24, 2011 at 8:54 am #70022gr8jrfanMemberSo apparently leaving MK on all those hours really screwed up my PS3. It gets extremely hot in short periods of time, makes load times unbearable, and it makes some games literally unplayable. I can’t play my copies of Batman Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Uncharted 2, or Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Not only is that annoying already but I still had trophies to complete but I stupidly bought the expensive DLC for BLOPS and ACB and now I can’t even play them! Whenever I’m in a load screen now and there is any update whatsoever to my friends list, it freezes and puts a bug in that section of the game. I don’t have the money to replace this shit, which is just great seeing as how every flippin game is coming out soon along with PS Vita. All I can say is: Fcuk you Ed Boon for fcuking up my PS3 and putting the most outrageous trophy in the universe in MK! You can just shove those ridiculous 350 hours up your ass, you prick! (End Rant) I WAS going to platinum BAA before Arkham City arrived but I guess that’s not happening :,(

You, eh… You didn't think leaving your Ps3 on for prolonged sessions over a short period of time wouldn't have some kind of effect on your Ps3 did you?? Sounds like your BDD has/is giving up the ghost… I may be wrong?
I've had to replace mine twice… Once after beasting Fallout3 for a week and a half solid, and the other started dying after Demons souls. They weren't new drives or anything, but constant working of an old drive doesn't help. It shouldn't that expensive to get fixed if you can find somewhere that will do it… Even cheaper if your feeling brave and try yourself??
June 24, 2011 at 7:34 pm #70028I773D33MABL3MemberThe endurance races in GT5 have done the same to Mojo's console, is yours one of the older fatboy models or a slim?
June 24, 2011 at 7:47 pm #70030kingofgames73MemberCurrently playing Portal 2 (great game!!), could do with a co-op buddy, as i'm returning the game next monday. feel free to message me if your interested!
June 24, 2011 at 10:44 pm #70031gr8jrfanMemberI have a slim but this could happen to slim or fat models apparently. Sony said my hard drive, or disk, I can’t remember was totally corrupted. It seems that New Vegas was the chief problem. If you have problems you should do a system restore (involves holding your PS3 power button down about 8 times to get to the screen, I found it on PS3T. Org) and it fixes the hard drive and usually fixes corrupted games.Afterwards, I checked my game data utility, and FO NV floated right back to the top. I haven’t tested it out that much but I was able to get into BAA and the PS3 is back to normal temperature. This hasn’t fixed everything however. I still have partial lag in the XMB and it worsened my freezing on KZ3. I would tell Mojo to restore, Jack. I’m going to do a longer session today on BAA and delete the game data for KZ3. I’m going to report back here to tell you what I found out so me and Mojo’s PS3s can get back to normal.
June 24, 2011 at 11:35 pm #70032I773D33MABL3MemberUnusual to hear about the slim getting messed up. That I would attribute to software corruption because, in terms of hardware, it's pretty reliable. Mojo has the old fatboy 40GB model so his was just waiting for nails in the coffin anyway. He hasn't had issues with games not playing, just his fan sounding like an angle grinder.
June 25, 2011 at 12:40 am #70033I773D33MABL3MemberJust finished my first playthrough in Red Faction Armageddon. I still miss the free-roaming of the last title but taking the game on it's own merits, it's still pretty damn good.Â
If I was to try and throw a negative at it, the only thing that springs to mind is the pacing of the weapons. They try to offer an arsenal similar to the last one in scope but jam it into a much shorter game. The end result being you ignore most of them. I know I used less than a third of what was in my inventory.Â
Apart from that minor issue, I loved it and can't wait to properly try infestation mode.
