No one playing BO2????
I was impressed with the original Black Ops storytelling considering it's trappings as an FPS.
Storytelling in FPS's don't have trappings, they just don't try.
About to begin my Uncharted 2 boosting in a bit. Hopefully these guys aren't dicks…
November 16, 2012 at 11:02 pm #72504gr8jrfanMember@scotty243 Most military shooters try to evoke realism and more of a military experience than a 40 hour emotional, personal, epic poem or whatever. That's not a lack of effort at all. Y'see it's called “Campaign” for a reason, because it's not a “Story Mode”. In a campaign, it's more of a dull excuse to shoot things. Think of their target market. That's exactly what they want: an excuse to shoot things. In games that are like this, the singleplayer's usually tacked on and not fun to play for long stretches of time but the Black Ops have mixed a “Campaign” and “Story Mode” feel to where you actually care and you're shooting things for fun! Everybody wins, including the people that expect plots as thick as maple syrup.
November 17, 2012 at 2:55 am #72505I773D33MABL3MemberWhile never CoD's biggest fan (still hate the MP) it is their fairly decent effort at putting together a plot and half decent characters that elevate the SP above the likes of MoH and BF3.
Didn't do much myself today as I was too wrecked after work but there was a couple of MP trophies in Magic 2013 picked up and I hit 'Vanquisher' rank (the half-way point) in Tekken.

Since when did all FPS's have to be military shooters? Perfect example is The Darkness II. An FPS which has a story in which the player is interested in which doesn't involve evil Russian “terrorists” killing people for some silly reason. And military shooters can have a story, look at the Resistance series or even Brothers in Arms. Although they are very few, they actually try.
Managed to knock out a few Payday trophies and got some Uncharted 2 co-op done yesterday. Payday was getting tense but nonetheless fun as the trophy Hot Lava had me on the edge of my seat wondering whether or not a bud and I were going to be overrun on the roof top. The grind to million is almost over with me sitting on top of $600 million, so perhaps I can just grind it out since I've this week off?
Uncharted 2 was fun as well but the 2nd Co-op objective on Hard was a bit frustrating. We were stuck in this position for 10 minutes not knowing what to do, until I realized it and tried to do it, almost done with it, then everyone dying out of the blue . Took us an hour on that objective and it's still not done, but we plan on getting it done later this week. The other trophies were a breeze though and required little to no work, thus far.
November 18, 2012 at 1:28 pm #72508gr8jrfanMemberWhat kind of idiot do you take me for? Of course I know not all FPS's are military focused, I've played a shit ton of them. Sure, “trappings as an FPS” is poor wording on my part but I'd think you get the jyst of what I'm saying and put it into it's appropiate subgenre if it pleases you so. Also, wouldn't you consider Brothers in Arms and Spec Ops: The Line or whatever EXCEPTIONS to the common practice that military shooters' stories are usually not made great? That's what that sentence meant, not that all FPS always have and always will disapoint in the investment and story department. Anyway, I spent all day redoing my lost progress in AC3 and I got back to 53% sync. Thankfully, I placed a back up save right before I started recording artisans for the Encyclopedia of the Common Man again, because it glitched and didn't show the “entry completed” three times. What a pile of shit.

Hey man, I'm not making you out to be an idiot. Perhaps it was poor wording on your part and probably how I took it, but it seemed as if you were only meaning FPS's have to be only Military shooters. Military shooters don't need an epic poem or etc. but at least let me find something to keep me going instead of,”America's being attacked!! Time to kill Russians!!!!!” That's all I get out of military “experiences” these days, Black Ops II could offer up something different, but I'm not really interested. *Pops in Black Ops II*
Anyways, been itching towards the PAYDAY plat now that I can almost taste it. Got 2 trophies left that require a team and afterwards, I can deal with the list myself. Have to give a big thanks to Seibei, Brendo, and Rowdi for taking the time to help me out with this game. It hasn't been a nightmare to go through, just a bit time consuming. But Seibei should be thanked the most for now, as we waited for 3 hours in a lobby for our bud to come and took us a few tries to actually get Noob Herder, which concluded in his BBQ sandwiches never being made . What a stupid as trophy!! It's essentially easy but fcuking stupid to need 3 others guys with the perk.
Uncharted 2 boosting didn't go so well and these guys are too much for me to handle. I think I might finish up the co-op, but Naughty Dog can go fcuk themselves on that MP bullshit.
November 19, 2012 at 4:38 pm #72510scotty243MemberThe ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** is wrong with APT?? This quote shit is out of control!!
November 19, 2012 at 8:49 pm #72511I773D33MABL3MemberHad a bit of a random gaming day today. Grinded some kills in Space Marine and then went back to zombies in the first BO. Tried 'Ascension' for the first time and actually did okay. Might try for a few of the trophies as it was always one I ignored before. Not too sure what the fcuk Space Monkeys are though…
November 20, 2012 at 6:49 am #72512gr8jrfanMemberAlright then, I apologize if I looked like an ass. Got 2/3 of these soul crushingly hard AC3 minigames done. They programmed the AI to be ruthless board game wizards on Expert level and none of them are fun at all. When I beat Morris, I jumped out of my chair and yelled “YES! HELL YES!!”. That feeling was similar to conquering another 2 of the DLC Ops in MW3 with 1773R3D33MABL3 today. The kicker today was how the level designer completely trolls you by letting you wander into a secret room and killing you 3 seconds afterward. Speaking of trolling, they put a surprise suicide bomber at the end of the fcuking 6 minute long torturous mission! Also, I feel so bad for these two poor soldiers always getting these suicide missions. Who sends in two people into a heavily fortified castle complex while one's strapped to a helicopter with a wimpy grenade launcher and the other's tasked with collecting 4 documents off dead bodies?! Who flies people onto a hotel roof, drops them off and tells them to destroy a convoy of military helicopters (Opulence much?!) and just leaves them there with two parachutes and a floor matt full of shitty guns?! Who sends in a single man tasked with destroying a Russian battleship with nothing but C4 and an RC helicopter with miniguns?! Who sends in an attack plane with a downs syndrome pilot and a single footsoldier tasked with rescuing a SINGLE survivor?! And why are the enemies sending the entire hotel staff(Who are all Russian spies, I guess) and several dogs in Juggernaut units after us? Why are there over 100 enemy units at a power station? Do our commanding officers find it funny or did we just screw one of their daughters?! Either way, this DLC is horrible but I can't help but laugh at the raw stupidity of it.
November 20, 2012 at 2:16 pm #72513I773D33MABL3MemberWow man, I've seen a few versons of my name but that's the first to add extra characters to it
And those missions are fcucking retarded. The lag and connection drops just added to the poxy mess. Although those shitty glitches have been outdone today. I've been trying to get some of those bloody 'Ascension' trophies and Black Ops is now playable in 3D but (hilariously) 'Ascension' doesn't like to load when you play it in 3D on solo but prefers to freeze my entire console.
November 20, 2012 at 11:45 pm #72514HardAndSloppyMemberGot Persona 4 Golden today. Good bye social life, hello Midnight Channel.

You weren't being an…
Finally finished my Chicken run of MGS4 and managed to now have 17/40 Emblems. I missed a few and gained some from my previous runs. The ones I missed aren't too bad and timed, made sure to get the 2 hours of this and that out the way ASAP!! Hopefully I can squeeze another playthrough out this week, but to be honest, I'm bored as shit playing through it. Talk about a drag…
And to talk about a GRIND, managed to get done with pretty much most of the trophies in PAYDAY. Just need $275 million and the plat is mine Wanted to grind it all this week so I can have a Thanksgiving plat, but I can give two shits less of when I have it. I'm just happy finally getting the damn thing!! Might do 145+ OVERKILL on Diamond Heist as it will net me some more cash
And last but not least, finally got my Dead Nation 100% and happy about that. Round 10 was a bitch to get to and even co-op it was still a bit tough. Managed to do it solo and it was midnight, literally turned on my PS3 and started playing, got it, then went to bed. Don't worry Em, if you still need help, I'm right here
November 21, 2012 at 6:51 am #72519gr8jrfanMemberToday was a day of great gaming achievement. Myself and Jack now hold all of the Modern Warfare 3 trophies and I beat all the minigames in AC3 finally. It feels good to finally have that completion because I'm selling it and NEVER looking back. I also have the next three days off in addition to the weekend to hopefully platinum AC3 and make more progress in MK Vita. The Coalition will always prevail!
November 22, 2012 at 12:22 am #72524I773D33MABL3MemberHad a good run in Magic today and completed all the expansion trophies and the original challenges. Now just to finish unlocking cards and win a Planechase duel for the 100%.
Also went up a few ranks in Tekken Tag 2 but my performance then took a bit of a nosedive so I finished up in order preserve any furniture within kicking range
November 22, 2012 at 12:46 am #72525AGENT_P6MemberGrinding through some campaign medals in Batman Arkham City.
I haven't played this in a while so I'm a little rusty on the freeflow, and man are those armed thugs ever annoying…especially the ones with the shields cuz they always screw up my combos!
