Finally finished Hitman: Absolution and although I really enjoyed the game I think maybe I missed the point a little with how best to approach it. With this being my first ever experience of Agent 47 I tended to adopt one of two play styles. Firstly the MGS stealthy approach and if that failed all guns blazing. I would loved to have adopted more traditional game style (such as food poisoning etc) but really didn't have the patience (or skill) to look for more cool, original ways to take down targets.
Guess I'll have to jump into Far Cry 3 now although I'm a little worried it won't be any good since Scotty seems to think its a steaming pile of shite
January 18, 2013 at 4:51 pm #72726I773D33MABL3MemberI don't think you missed the point man, I haven't played the game myself but that was one of the main complaints I came across in reviews. Compared to previous Hitman games, there are very few sandbox areas where you're given no direction but have multiple ways of taking out the target.

Well, that's the beauty of 47's games, you DON'T have to adopt a certain play style and there is no perfect style at all, it's how YOU want to play. Speaking from past 47 games, there was no specific route you were supposed to handle, it's all about what you wanted to do. Blood Money for example, I remember a mission where you could either disguise yourself as a construction worker and get past guys, or you could've bought a box-type things of roses with a shotgun concealed inside to blast baddies away at any moments notice. Don't worry about not having played the right way – It's robust in play styles which deserves a second run.

As for me, since the update passed, I managed to rent a copy of The Walking Dead and have been playing it all morning. Finished the incredible Episode 2, and about to start 3 in a few minutes. I'm quite surprised at this title, to be honest. I didn't think it would be as good as gr8 was totting it to be or Em's reaction to bawling his eyes out at the end, but it's pretty damn good. I wouldn't call this the best, as I'm still itching through the journey, but it's definitely worth a look at.
January 18, 2013 at 10:49 pm #72731gr8jrfanMemberAfter a week full of BULLSH!T homework and stuff, I journeyed to Rook Island and liked what I saw (so far). It was really easy to get sidetracked and Vaas lived up to the hype but the actual missions were overhyped as hell. It's by no means “Skyrim with guns” or JC2 good but I think it's a badass game. I'm looking forward to playing way more of it, swinging around on hang gliders and stuff
Also, Black Ops Declassified is irritating me to no end. There are serious moments where I just want to stop and crack the tiny game into even smaller pieces. Whenever you get shot, your gun just raises way higher than the enemy, making aiming totall broken… It's just so enfuriating!

Need the last two missions for MoH. Will crack down on this before bed, hopefully….
January 19, 2013 at 4:42 am #72738gr8jrfanMemberSo I think my experience with BO Declassified has made my FPS skills way sharper. I just flew through MOH Frontline's first two levels on hard and earned a gold medal for my troubles. Even though the hit detection's pretty off, I'm having fun with it this time around. I can aim again, guys! Hurray for non-totally broken games!!!
January 23, 2013 at 1:54 am #72758scotty243MemberSo after a weekend of MoH and TWD, I decided to dig back into Resident Evil 6 to finish off the collectibles I've left, and boy, do I have quite the load. I'll hopefully have Leon's campaign finished within the next few minutes and depending on how much free time I'm granted tomorrow (silly homework ), I should have Chris' campaign done?
Also, managed to scrap together enough courage today to pop back in Metal Gear Solid 4 after a month long hiatus, then slowly popped it right back out after realizing how tedious and tainted the experience has become. Will attempt to finish the list after RE6 or something, since I've printed out the flashbacks and everything a few months back. Big Boss Extreme shouldn't be too hard as I've enough experience, ammo, and all the weapons to dominate this joyless and spoiled game – Will also be following a walkthrough on it while I'm attempting the mode because if I have to spend another 10 hours in this game, I might lose my mind
January 23, 2013 at 5:53 pm #72761KriggsMemberI finished Tier 1 in MOH last night and also managed to squeeze in a 3:45 playthrough on hard in a comotose state at 5 am this morning. Christ that game is poor, when i was doing Tier 1 I'll admit I was having some fun but playing through the game with it's terrible cutscenes and boring characters I was glad to be done with it at the end. Only a couple trophies left and I can burn the damn disc.
I picked up Kingdoms of Amalur again after a few months off from it. I really just forgot about it because that game is just perfect and I loved every minute playing through it. Now I've just a tidy up of a few of the features which I wouldn't use in the game and it's done. I might even just keep playing this one for fun after my plat. Anyone who has even a little bit of interest in this game I would suggest picking it up. It's better than you might think and the trophies are straight-forward
Gonna play some Rocksmith later and keep pummeling away at that one, it's gonna take a while methinks…….
January 25, 2013 at 3:28 am #72778gr8jrfanMemberHad a pretty busy day today. After getting through another 3 exams in the morning, I went and got the Vita Playstation All-Stars platinum. Big thanks to emdeepee for helping me getting the best of the online elites out there. Pity I couldn't show anybody the on-disc Nathan Hale..
Then the Coalition spent a few hours in RFA's Infestation mode. Man, were randomers assholes today. To purposely block Kriggs from joining, some guy in a public lobby kept joining to make the lobby full. The waste of oxygen's fcuking online ID was CallofDuty__12345. Twat. When we got in a game, we got the trophy Jack needed for the plat and we played until my connection had it's period, and prevented from me getting the 30 wave trophy.
Then, I tried the Dead Space 3 demo and I actually liked it. Oh Denzel…
January 25, 2013 at 9:36 am #72781emdeepeeMemberAfter seeing gr8 pick up his PSAS Vita plat I'm determined to get mine out of the way sooner rather than later. Just the 10 arcade modes to go!
January 26, 2013 at 2:40 am #72793I773D33MABL3MemberManaged to grab the Red River plat today, got a few challenges done in Ecolibrium and with some help from Kristoff (Last two snap and slide puzzles) I got the 100% in Welcome Party on the Vita.

I thought I was alone when I thought that some of those puzzles were way harder than they should be in Welcome Park. I made my mom do a couple of them because I'm no good at slide puzzles

Any suggestions for those two cause they're doing my fcuking head in? Or is it just practise, practise, practise?
January 26, 2013 at 8:20 pm #72801KriggsMember@ gr8jrfan & emdeepee
If you guys wanna send me over your vitas I can knock those out for you. I'm really good at puzzles. The trick is to take a picture of something with very distinct layers. Jack has the perfect picture for it and can probably send it to you. It made it very easy for me.
I myself am working through Red Faction: Armageddon on insane and it's pretty easy and a lot of fun. Infinite Mr. Toots is awesome . Just that and a few tidy up trophies and I'll be done.
January 26, 2013 at 10:07 pm #72806scotty243Member@ Em & gr8
Yeah, just um… Send them over here, too. Oh, and don't forget all your games as well
Going to start Medal of Honor: Frontline later on today as I don't want to make RE6 tedious since I'm relatively enjoying that game even more. Wondering whether I should go for the gold medals or Hard playthrough…
Making small progress in RE6 with the collectibles and managed to snag a decent player for Mercs randomly Going to clean up the rest of the misc. trophies and collectibles so I can have Pro. playthrough left to save for another time. From what I remember, I possibly need 4 skills left to upgrade? That should be done soon though.
