Still in the process of mopping up left-over zombie trophies. I grabbed 'Armed and Dangerous' in Moon on Sunday for the 100% in that DLC so now I just need two trophies from Call of the Deadfor the overall 100% in Blops.
Then yesterday myself and kris tackled anything we needed in Blops 2 zombies. He needed four in Mob of the Dead which we managed to grab in a single game and then went on to Buried to get 'Awaken the Gazebo'. an irritating one but it was actually points management or expiring zombies that messed us up rather than those tarts in the mansion.
I also limped my way through another level in Crysis 3. Really getting a hate-on for the SP in this game.
August 28, 2013 at 1:13 am #73559I773D33MABL3MemberFinished the SP in Crysis 3 today and I'm going back through the levels on Recruit to hunt down the last few collectibles and misc. trophies. The game tells me what intel I'm missing in each level but not which suit upgrades so I still have to play through the whole bloody thing.
But the game has me worried. I've read that the trophy that glitches most frequently is for upgrading the suit. I need two more upgrades but in the stat menu it says I have 15/16. So if I grabbed one but died before hitting a checkpoint then it would have reset the upgrade but not respawned it to collect again. I'm hoping it's just the very first upgrade doubling up. You collect it as part of the storyline so the game may have registered it twice. Because if not I have to delete my game save and do a third full playthrough and spend ages maxing the levels of all upgrades.
Fcuking Crytek, it'd kill them to make a game properly.
August 28, 2013 at 3:16 pm #73560I773D33MABL3MemberManaged to get all three collectible trophies in C3 this morning. Turns out the 15/16 was in reference to the amount of modules I'd unlocked, not upgrade kits I'd picked up. Maxing my last module was a pain though. I'd to kill 15 guys by hitting them with power-kicked objects but a combination of fcuk-all kickable objects and unbelievably broken physics make it cruel. I ended up hunting seven Cell troops through an old ruin with a fridge. Going room to room murdering them with it. The Ceph are even worse as they just wander off like retards. I had to chase a whole gang of them around a swamp with a pool table!!
August 28, 2013 at 11:33 pm #73561emdeepeeMemberSounds as though one game I won't be 'playing right now' is Crysis 3'
August 30, 2013 at 2:15 am #73564I773D33MABL3MemberUp to rank 16 in the Crysis 3 MP. The only rank trophy is for getting to 20 so it's a short slog. A few skill based trophies after that but nothing too arduous in the list. I have half already and of the few left 25 kills in the Pinger will probably be the only pain.
September 1, 2013 at 12:33 pm #73566KriggsMemberOkay I haven't posted on this in ages. I stopped playing games for a while but I'm back playing now whenever i can.
Recently “The Coalition” were in full flow with the latest Zombies challenge and when Nathan said it was gonna be the hardest one to date i was a little sceptical but that bloody map delivered big time..
Both Jack and I had gotten slightly cocky with our majorly improved Zombie killing skills and we breezed through all the other trophies involved in the map so we thought we have no problem with the easter egg. Well we started at around 6pm gmt and didn't finish till almost 3 am!!!!!!!
I've played games for longer than that but none of them have almost made me faint with a nausea inducing migraine brought on by what can only be described as an epileptic shooting gallery.Anyway we picked up the trophy and both jack and I collapsed into heaps straight after it.
Other games i've recently played are Resistance 2 ( had never played through the single player campaign so gave it a go), Journey, Killzone 3, Assassins Creed: Revelations and I managed to pick up platinums in the latter 2.
Last night I played through Dungeon Siege 3 on hardcore by myself and I have to say it might the toughest rpg of that style that I have ever played. Maybe I was using a bad character for a hardcore playthrough but I have to say I loved every insanely difficult bit of it. Great game and looking forward to getting the plat in it.
September 1, 2013 at 2:59 pm #73571scotty243MemberEntered the crime syndicate on Friday, that is PAYDAY 2. Bought this game on release and am slowly regretting it; the game lacks the “charm” PAYDAY: The Heist had, as well as any replayability or challenges. It's been fun with the crew I've been with, however it's single player irredeemably makes it unplayable without friends. The heists included with the game are baffling due to how uninteresting they are. Also, the game has this serious and dramatic tone to it – most of the heists are set in the dark, the dialogue is life-threatening most of the time, and every heist is practically a simulator; there's nothing like the inventive Undercover heist in PAYDAY: The Heist where there's a limo falling through the building while you're sawing it with police assaults occurring.
I've been hopping on Uncharted 2 frequently, due to the drivel boosting I participate in; Uncharted 3 GOTY is sitting on my shelf, alongside my original copy of Uncharted 3, for boosting later on. I'm actually quite stoked to begin the co-op portion of 3 soon, since I enjoyed the hell of it previously with a good friend of mine
Depending on if a friend of my let's me grab a hold of his copy of Red Dead this week or so, then I'll be on top of that like white on rice since I've been having an urge to play it for the past month or so – not related to GTA V in any way
September 7, 2013 at 12:23 am #73573I773D33MABL3MemberMy Crysis 3 plat is almost within my grasp. Just four more trophies and three of them I've been working towards. I have 5/10 VTOL kills, 10/25 Pionger kills and I think I have over half the 25 challenges done. Then it's kill someone with a ground slam attack from over 15m and I'm there.
Myself and Kris have also started boosting AC: Brotherhood. We grabbed the last of the quick MP trophies and now it's just all skill bonuses and Lvl 50.
We've also started a playthrough in Dungeon Siege 3. With a little game save manipulation this game gets a lot faster and it looks like we may only need one whole playthrough to finish.
And my Diablo 3 arrived in the post today!! Stuck in already and enjoying revisiting all the old haunts. The port seems to be pretty flawless but I'm pissed they've taken the auction house out. Not only was it cool but it made the search for quality gear so much more simple.
September 7, 2013 at 6:48 am #73574Frederick_PlaystationMemberI'm pretty sure Blizzard said that the addition of the auction house was a mistake.
And they were right
September 7, 2013 at 7:46 pm #73575I773D33MABL3MemberI don't see how it could be an issue. If you want gear quick – buy it! If not – grind for it like usual.

So last night myself, Nathan, Kris and Ben decided to tackle the ensemble trophy for the zombies map Buried. The lads had hinted that this was one of the trickier trophies but after chewing up the rest of the trophy list I felt pretty confident…
Foolish mortal…
The game took my misplaced confidence and proceded to kick it in the penis for EIGHT SHITTING HOURS!!!! That's EIGHT HOURS in ONE GAME!!!! Without having to restart even once we still only reached round 16!
As The Coalition we have met our share of ridiculous requirements in our zombie journey but never has patience been tested so! Punching signs, following glowing fart, dodging crusty banshees, randomly placed levers in a hedgemaze (A hilarious two hours spent playing with those coloured dildos) until finally we arrived at the 'piéce de résistance'; pop-up target cowboys located in four parts of the map. Cue over three hours of four (by now extremely tired, frustrated and disillusioned) gobshites trying to memorise the order, timing, and location of roughly twenty targets each. Then hit every one. Together. One miss by a single member meant a restart. Three and a half hours of restarts broken only by ammo runs, toilet breaks and occasional flurries of lag.
This shit will wake haunt my fcuking dreams. I woke up today panicking that I had to grab the power-up before it disappeared!
This post is perfect. I sent this to Ben and we were both cracking up. And I don't see the harm in having the auction house there. It's there for the people that want to use it. If you don't want to use it, don't. It's like microtransactions: so long as we're not forced into doing it, then I don't see the harm in them being there for the people that want it.
Anyway, a lot has happened in gr8jrfanland, so I'll have to just make everything really short so I don't write a novel like in the movie thread. I went on vacation a week ago and I didn't play any of the Vita games I originally thought I would've. I spent whatever little time I had on the Vita on the shitty DS port of Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 and the outstanding Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. I highly recommend everyone with a Vita to check this out. The puzzles are really clever and fun and the story is highly interesting and genius. I'm constantly guessing as I try to solve the mysteries in the story sections. I haven't played a game this intriguing in years. So yeah, get it, you nerds!
When I got back I spent a majority of my time on Saints Row IV. It's better than SR3 but not as good as Saints Row 2 in my opinion. Being a president was actually really underwhelming. You only get to be the Commander In Chief for a mission before a plot twist that, let's just say, makes that title pretty meaningless. They shouldn't have advertised it as “the president game”, they should've advertised it as “the superhero game” because it's basically the greatest the Flash game ever created. The superpowers are all great but it actually does make the game a bit too easy and makes a lot of features pretty pointless since you're already God, basically. Like why on earth would I ever call homies for backup, use vehicles that are slower than sprint speed, customize a vehicle, or use anything other than the Dubstep Gun or Black Hole Gun? If they're going to put these OP weapons and powers in they should've saved them for later on to feel like a reward rather than right at the start, killing all challenge. But those are just my problems with it, the game's actually hilarious, it's still a ton of fun in SP or co-op (also makes the game easier. Anyone with the option should for the activities), and the activities are hella improved from SR3, oh my god! The ones in SR3 were awful but at least half of these are actually pretty fun! Sadly, there's no more than one gang to take down but Zinyak's a pretty badass villain and the Simulation throws in a couple surprises in from time to time I haven't personally played SR1 but I can say anyone that played any of the past games should be delighted to see all the references. (God, I love SR2) The references don't stop there too; there's references to Aliens, Terminator, the Matrix, Mortal Kombat, and tons of other shit I haven't heard of! But all in all, it adds problems but also addresses past ones and it's own improvements. Saints Row 4 is a lot better than Saints Row 3.
And lastly, I'm playing the PS3 version of LHP2 and holy shit, is it an improvement on 1-4 and the Vita version. I can tell I'm going to be enjoying my time a lot better than the last 2 lego games I played!
EDIT: Shit, I guess this is a novel. Oh well.
September 7, 2013 at 10:21 pm #73578Frederick_PlaystationMemberI'm just saying that if the DEVS thought they should have never implemented it and would take it out if the oppurtunity came (that's why it's not in the console port) then it shouldn't have been in the game in the first place.
September 8, 2013 at 1:12 am #73582I773D33MABL3MemberI looked through some articles on the issues with the auction house and it's got some fairly extreme negative feedback. But apart from all the usual whining about micro-transactions and greedy companies, it seems the real complaint is with the drop rate of decent loot. The overall resentment towards the auction house is based on the fact that rare/legendary loot drops are so poor, it's the only realistic way to get playable gear for the harder difficulties.
That's a shame but I'd hardly say the AH is to blame. Blizzard could patch the drop rates easily enough and that would make the AH just a quick alternative but still leave the excitement for those that want to properly explore.
September 17, 2013 at 7:55 am #73590Frederick_PlaystationMemberBeen playing GTAV for the past weekend.
September 17, 2013 at 6:35 pm #73591emdeepeeMemberTorn between starting GTA V and finishing off LOTR: War in the North with Scotty.
Actually, no I'm not. Fcuk you Denzel. Sincerely
