Germany's keeper in an interview after the game said he knew it went in the cheating bastard.
The English fans might hassle him at the tournament but the guy has to live in Germany afterwards. And those nutters take their violence seriously!
And I'm pretty sure once the ref didn't give the goal then the decision couldn't be changed despite the evidence. That was the problem with the offside goal against Mexico. The replay was on the big screens in the stadium but even though the officials could see their mistake they weren't allowed to correct it.

It seems to be a really blatant blunder on the ref's part but all of the angles we've seen are from above or right beside the goal. It's a damn sight harder to judge depth when you're on a level with the ball and you can't see the line. If they actually showed the goal from the ref's point of view then I think it'd put a different slant on the problem.
The ball made a single high-speed bounce. It didn't give the officials much chance. The England players and Cappello would have run around cheering regardless of whether it went in or not. If it's even close then they're going to claim it and try to sway the ref.
There is two assistant referees at each end of the field in a footbal game, man. As far as I know, they should stay there to see things such as offside position, penalties, and such when the referee himself can't see stuff like that from his point of view.
I'm not saying I wanted England to win. I'm just saying that was ridiculous.
BTW, this wasn't the only fail. There were several others in this world cup alone.
June 29, 2010 at 12:52 am #63018I773D33MABL3MemberThe linesman was in a poor position to see the goal. It came from a quick piece of play and I think he was caught off guard. There could have even been a player blocking his view of the ball.
That muppet from Fifa; Blatter is holding a press conference tomorrow to discuss the incident. Here's hoping he climbs down off his pedestal and admits he was wrong about goal-line technology.

LOL at England.
It's not that it's England losing, it's that it seems the fate of our nation has been resting on the shoulders of these fcuk ugly pansies. Good on you, Germany.
LMAO!!
I seriously can't stand football. It's not a mans sport and they get paid stupid money for it. I could go on all evening about the bad things about the sport but the one thing that really gets on my wick is the fact that people think one match ruins their whole life. I mean, my WHOLE Facebook news feed was full of all my mates going, “IT SHOULD BE 2-2!” and “STUPID NAZI'S!” and “THE REF IS BLIND”
I was sitting with my girlfriend watching the second half and LOLING so much as goal after status after goal rolled in.
Really? Does your life end because you lost yet another world cup? Do you have to cry like the bum boys on the tv? In fact, do they have to cry? Are you playing and losing like the guys on the pitch are? Do you have to slate the England team when, clearly, they were never going to win this year? No, so go make me a sammich, bitch.
Well-said.If they played better,there would've been a different score.The ref's decision demoralised them,but like a great team,they should've risen above it.

a few jokes that have cropped up, think i'll share here…..;)
“My mate asked me if I saw the England goal.
Unfortunately I missed it, I was too busy refereeing the match.”
“Message to Agent Capello:
Mission accomplished. Return to Scotland.”
“Dear referee,
i couldn't help but notice how badly you performed during the first half of this match, i would like to volunteer myself to take your place in the second half as i believe i could do better,
yours truly,
Stevie Wonder”
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,ROFLMAO.

Well I must say, these Knockout games are so much better than the group stages. Lots of excitement!!
England vs Germany: I think it just comes down to the fact that Germany is just a powerhouse team. If you give Germany the ball on an attack, they are going to score.
That was definitely the best game I have watched so far in the World Cup.
I definitely expect Germany vs. Argentina to be an awesome game.. that should be awesome.
And I definitely see a Germany vs. Brazil final.
No you don't. Germany x Argentine in the quarter finals and Brazil x Netherlands also in the quarter finals. If Brazil and Germany wins, they will play in the semifinals.
