Fcuking disgusted.

Neither of the teams tonight deserved to be world champions but while the Dutch are a bunch of dirty b*stards, there is nothing in the game of soccer that I hate more than diving and Spain were absolutely pathetic. No-one could walk within five yards of Iniesta without the little shite hitting the deck and Xavi kicking the legs out from under himself in the box was just laughable.

People will talk about the lack of sportsmanship from the Dutch but at least they're honest with their fouling.

Spain don't foul much. They just cheat.

100% agree with everything you just said. I don't think either of the teams deserved to win, but of the two, I was really going for the Dutch, after I saw Spain pull of like 5 dives.

firstly de jongs tackles was outrageous, not only a red card but that shouldve been further action (somehow its always xabi alonso get kicked to shite :L), and van bommels persistent fouling that should have been red.

secondly, the game itself was shite, robben couldve had a couple as well as matijesin (or however its spelt) missing a sitter from a corner.

finally, again technology missed as we saw a free kick deflected out but no corner given, and a foul but no free kick given, this lead to the goal which possibly denied the netherlands winning, i wanted to see pens anyways!

Spain play tedious football. Self proclaimed “true football” fans can hark on about the “beauty” of Spain's passing game and skill all they want. It doesn't make it any less boring to watch.

If all the passing led to solid chances on goal I wouldn't mind but they still only managed one goal in 120 minutes against a side that had been reduced to ten men.

When they beat the Germans it was with a goal from a set piece so all their possession and “domination” meant squat.

Alonso gets it hard but Picque had a harsh tournament as well. At one stage he had a plaster on his head, a mouth full of wool to stop his gums bleeding and still got a kick in the bollox!

De Jong's tackle was a fcuking joke though. Players have seen red for tackles half as bad as that. It was actually a bit unfortunate Heitinga got sent off as he hadn't committed nearly as many fouls as his team-mates. But that's what happens when you give that shit Iniesta an opportunity to dive.

I wouldn't blame any decisions by the ref for the goal (I think it was the missing defender). He did make a few blatant errors in the last few minutes but I don't think any of them led to the goal.

In truth, if the ref had been as strict as he should have been all match then the Dutch would've probably had about seven players and would've lost 5-0.

spain only the 3rd team to win the euro champ and world cup in successive years, and there already favourited for the next euro champs with germany just behind them and england a good outsider at 10-1. i just hope newcastle get gosling and give him the first team action he deserves.
