raymond domenech (france manager) is probably the worst manager ever.
firstly his formation was shite, they should be going out to beat uruguay and they werent gonna do that with anelka on his own at ST, god its his first proper world cup game! malouda had a fall out with domenech and didnt get to start (he wouldve done much better than govou and put away that easy chance) and then there was no benzema, no diarras, and nasri didnt even go!
what a waste of 3 points on frances part. i actually thought uruguay did well. forlan obviously was one of the best, if only he seen the ball as much as suarez eh? coz suarez was mostly offside.
anyways looking forward to the games today!
Diego Maradonna has to be up there with him, he hasn't got a clue.
Laurent Blanc will make France the France of old once that ugly manager has gone, hard to believe Domenech even guided them to a world cup final!
I think Maradona can be a great manager, he just doesnt know how to get the best out of his players – or were to play them, Gutierrez at RB?? Makes the omission of Zanetti look ridiculous. He has a lot of passion though, the emotion can pay of on the guys.
I really hope England's game tonight with that minnow team is a belter, the first 4 games have been fairly poor so far, although I didnt see the Greece game.
June 12, 2010 at 8:08 pm #62552parnakasMemberLooking forward to seeing the England vs. USA game, which is on very shortly. Should be awesome!!
June 12, 2010 at 9:33 pm #62554Ratchet525MemberEng -1 USA -1 halftime close game. Hope USA wins but I doubt it lol
June 12, 2010 at 10:34 pm #62555I773D33MABL3MemberWell England might as well get on the bus home now. That was a horror show.
The early Milner and King subs give the impression that even Cappello is questioning his own team selection.
I can't wait to read the tabloids tomorrow!
June 12, 2010 at 10:40 pm #62556Ratchet525MemberYeah, the tie sucked. Plus, I noticed that England did get a few yellow cards.
June 12, 2010 at 11:07 pm #62557emdeepeeMemberHaven't seen anyone yet who looks capable of winning the WC.
Looking forward to Netherlands v Denmark on Monday.

June 12, 2010 at 11:46 pm #62562monkeymoobsMemberI felt England played quite well with the exception of the calamity of a save by Green we should have won really Johnson was my man of the match
June 13, 2010 at 12:35 am #62563I773D33MABL3MemberThe US got 3 yellow cards as well. Mind you, I don't think I'd dispute any of them, or any of the ref's decision for that matter. So far the refereeing has been of a pretty high standard. It makes a nice change from the Prem. League where every match had disputes and blatant mistakes.
Man, what game were you watching? England were dire! There was no structure to heir field play and their set pieces were mingin'. After the goal I can't remember a single corner that turned into anything productive or provided a chance on goal.
June 13, 2010 at 12:40 am #62564GHOST305MemberTrue thier set pieces ween't that great, but after that poor stop by Green, England just went lax although they did have some good efforts from Hesky later in the game. I also wish that Rooney would have stepped up a bit earlier in the match rather than the 70th minute. But, all in all they were still threatening the goal even near of the match. This is just my opinion though, I though they played decent
Also, I fellt that the refs are doing a fairly good job so far. But, who knows what will happen later.

maradona's an alright manager, he seems to get the best out of his players no matter how bad player positioning and squad choices are. i mean, messi, mascharano and GUTIERREZ first 3 on his team sheet? haha im a fan of gutierrez (obv coz he plays at newcastle but hes really good as well) but i wouldnt say hes up with the best, not at RB anyways. he would've did much better RM but they played the 4-3-3 as i said, and the 3 midfielders were great anyways imo.
now onto the england game. im not even going to blame green, he made no mistakes what-so-ever until he did the similar thing that carson did against croatia. i feel sorry for him personally but i think he did redeem himself a bit with a great save onto the bar. out of everyone, the worst player on the pitch did the best – heskey. won every header and was a great supplier for the goal, england couldnt of asked any more from him. rooney saving his goals for the WC? aye ok then. USA were lucky to scrape a draw tbh, oh and johnson had a minor chance from a corner where he had a lovely first touch but then kinda swiped at it. taking milner off was a bad decision i reckon, shouldve kept him til half time. bringing carragher on was also not the best decision considering he shouldve been sent off pushing findley (i think) off the ball as last man. i didnt see nothing wrong with gerrard and lampard in the CM either tbh. in all honestly, england did alright but if they want to beat the bigger teams, they need to up there game!
todays games predictions:
algeria 0-1 slovenia
serbia 1-2 ghana
germany 2-0 australia
June 13, 2010 at 1:43 pm #62570pool96MemberI feel really bad for Green, he's a great goalkeeper.
When you play a sport you always make a few mistakes here and there, nobody is perfect.
The difference is when you're playing in goal, there's no one to back you up, when you make your mistake it always ends in calamity. 3 years ago, my local gaelic football team were very short players so they called me up from an age group 2 years below, to play in goal. I had an awful season, U-13 is the first year you play in regular size goals, everything seemed to go over my head.
I feel bad for Green, but I am glad he made that save in the second half, he will have some confidence got back and he will have something to brood over apart from his mistake until next Friday.
Overall England played alright, you can't really say anything about the goal, it was a mistake, and it seemed to knock the stuffing out of them a small bit. 40mins is a horrible time to concede a goal. England's first 15 minutes were great though, I still expect them to win the group. They have great mental strength in the form of Terry, Gerrard, Lampard etc. etc.
June 13, 2010 at 8:34 pm #62577monkeymoobsMemberi'm routing for Australia against Germany atm still 0-0 at 4 mins but Germany GK has already had to work his ass off
Germany gone 1 up not good as i got £5 on Australia getting at least 1 Pt out of this
FML i guess i won't be seeing this fiver again if the game carries on like this 2-0 down
oh shit the bed it's 4-0
June 13, 2010 at 10:40 pm #62578I773D33MABL3MemberA bit of a blitzkrieg there. Unlucky about your fiver there Monkey.
Have to say that I think that was far and away the bast game so far. Germany are the first country to go out and play like a professional team. They made Australia look pedestrian.
I have to admit that I was pretty disgusted with a lot of the Australian conduct. They threw a ridiculous amount of elbows and knees in tackles, that chap Neill being a complete scumbag.
Not only that, but they were the first team that I've seen give serious grief to the ref. Everybody loses the head a bit but some of the Aussies were screaming at him.
The red card will raise a few questions and I think it might have been on the harsh side of things but as they well deserved to have a player sent off I'll just write it off as karma.
June 14, 2010 at 6:47 am #62580mocte32Membergermany 4 australia 0 lol germany kill australia
