Here's a quote from an interview with the director of PSN Operations:
With Sony's Trophy system coming up on its one-year anniversary this month, we were eager to learn how Sony could enhance the service, leveraging the PlayStation brand and distancing itself from the Xbox 360's Achievements system. So, during E3 last week, we asked Eric Lempel – Director of PlayStation Network Operations – when Trophies would make their way to the PSP, newly invigorated by the PSP Go announcement. Lempel said, bluntly, “You're not going to see Trophies on the PSP.”
Now, before you curse his name, hear him out, okay? Lempel explains that “there are a few reasons” you won't see Trophies on PSP and, chief amongst them is “keeping it secure.” See … the PSP has been hacked. A lot. Like, a lot a lot. Lempel says that “if people can artificially inflate their rankings and amounts of Trophies” via the PSP on a shared PlayStation-wide Trophy system then it “kills the whole [Trophy] system,” PS3 included. So “keeping it secure, keeping it fair” is the best solution – but that means no Trophies on PSP”
June 9, 2009 at 6:30 pm #27820BigWoopMagazineMemberIt makes me wonder whats different about the PSP that its been hacked so much, and yet the PS3 hasn't been hacked,,, or at least not in any way to threaten the security of the PS3 trophy system. Couldn't they do a firmware update on the PSP to tighten the security, and require that update for trophy support? I doesn't effect me, I don't own a PSP, so I'm just speculating here.

June 9, 2009 at 9:17 pm #27874PS3 TrophiesKeymasterThere's alot of security measures in the hardware of the PS3. Which is not there in the PSP.
June 9, 2009 at 11:15 pm #27896parnakasMemberi know that psps are extremely easy to hack. My friend hacked his in 2 minutes..ridiculous.
he doesnt buy any games, just downloads them all for free. If trophies were on PSP, everyone would be level 20 with 2000 trophies.

there is a program available for download
OR you can cut the battery open, cut some wire, then draw it back in with a pencil. It works.

What does that do exactly?
June 11, 2009 at 12:14 am #27966parnakasMemberXero – what that does is it triggers some thing in the psp that lets you play ISO and CSO game files. You draw in the line with the pencil so when the psp scans the battery, it says “everything is here, great”.
note that when you try to play a CSO or ISO ame file on your hacked psp, you need to make sure that you have any UMD disc in the psp. The umd doesnt have to be the game you want to play.. just some random thing.
