WipEout HD + Fury DLC Trophy Guide
By Collbreast_23
This game has been given the title of 'one of the hardest games' to attain a platinum trophy on. This is a fair comment in my opinion, Theres no denying that it does take quite abit of time, ALOT of patience and even more will power to stick this game out till the end. This is not because the game is bad but simply because getting the trophies can really take its toll, especially when you play for a few days without earning yourself a single trophy! Admittedly i gave this game a break for awhile, but after a short time i gave it another chance and really went at it until i got that platinum trophy. Trust me, it is definitely worth the effort you will no doubt put in and people do take notice. It is one of the few games people will say 'well done' for finishing.
Personally i would give the game 9/10, it has what i believe to be amazing visuals (you'd agree if you look around while you drive haha) and this is shown best in zones mode where the colour of the track changes as you progress further. It is very fun and the ship isn't too hard to handle. I would say that the game definitely has some replay value to it even after achieving 100%. If you include the DLC into this then with the addition of another 80+ events in career, 3 new modes to play, new skins for ships & some new tracks then it will make it last even longer. Purchashing the DLC is a must in my opinion, definitely worth it.
Trophy List:
There are 51 trophies in total, here they are split into their own sections
WipEout HD – 25 Bronze 7 Silver 5 Gold 1 Platinum
Fury DLC – 13 Bronze
Difficulty: 10/10
Time to Plat: A long time!
WipEout HD Trophies:
Uplift Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in UpliftComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Warped Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in Warped
Complete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Frenzy Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in FrenzyComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Vertigo Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in VertigoComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Head Rush Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in Head RushComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Speed Freak Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in Speed FreakComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Drop Zone Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in Drop ZoneComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Meltdown Bronze
Obtain a medal for every cell in MeltdownComplete all the events in this section getting any medal level at any difficulty, once you have done the last one you will get the trophy.
Smile Please Bronze
Use Photo Mode to take a photo
While in a race, simply press start and go to photo mode, from there you can take as many photos as you want. After you take your 1st photo you should get this.
Rookie Reward Bronze
Win any race with Pilot Assist on.This is one of the easiest trophies to earn and is usually earned at the same time as the trophy below. Pilot assist basically steers you away from the wall if you go too close and it should already be switched on when you start the game, think of it like having stabalisers when learning to ride a bike, Its simple enough.
1 Gold Medal won, 86 to go… Bronze
Obtain your first gold medalPretty self-explanatory, get a gold medal for the first time, it shouldn't be too hard if you're trying for platinum. If your not trying for it then i suggest just going through on novice difficulty instead of elite.
Happy Accident? Bronze
Execute your first successful barrel rollTo execute a barrel roll you have to press (Right, Left, Right) or (Left, Right, Left) This needs to be done very quickly and it will only let you perform the barrel roll if your ship is high enough off the ground, you will notice this as you continue to play, if done correctly you are award with a short speed boost at the cost of 10% of your ships armour or shield. The easiest place to perform a barrel roll in my opinion would be on 'Anulpha Pass' as there is a drop in the track where this is simple enough to do but it is possible to do up to 5 barrel rolls in 1 lap when you know how, (You will need to practice this track LOTS of you want to achieve 100%).
Keep Rollin' Bronze
Execute 100 successful barrel rolls
Once you have got the hang of how to barrel roll and know where to do them on most tracks this should be fairly simple, just keep playing and this will pop up in no time, you need to do them if you intend to win on elite difficulty.
Flatland Flyer Bronze
Execute and land a successful barrel roll on Moa Therma
At first this was very tricky for me to do, i gave it a good honest go before i gave up and looked on youtube. It is easiest to do this on a time trial event as you get a boost power up at the start of every lap and you NEED the boost, you also need to have pilot assist turned OFF. As you go round the corner and line up, before you boost hold down as this raises the nose of the ship and gives extra height

Own the Zone Bronze
Get 20 consecutive perfect zones in a single Zone Mode eventThis can be very tough and extremely annoying as the slightest of touches on the wall will prevent you from getting the trophy, i advise you to try this on 'anulpha pass' as that is the easiest level to reach zone 75 for 'Zone Zeus' and the more practice you get the better you should get at it. If you mess up i suggest restarting as this is easiest to do in the first 20 zones, if you mess up it only gets harder as the zones get higher. When i did this i used just the joystick as the ship doesn't turn as much as when using airbrakes at the same time as the joystick. Airbrakes alone could do the job too so i suggest trying both and seeing which is easier for you, although practice again will be needed for'Airbraker' trophy for reaching level 50 without airbrakes.
Double Kill Bronze
Eliminate at least two opponents in any race
Easy enough to do, pick a race early on in the campaign on which ever track you like the most and pick up every weapon pad you can and use it on the closest ship. This will be down to luck of which weapons you get and how much damage the opponents have already taken from each other and yourself, sometimes they will steal 1 of your kills but keep trying and it should happen soon enough. If you continue to struggle turn the difficulty down again.
Endurance Bronze
Finish an online 12 race tournament
I can't remember if this can be done with 2 people alone but if not it shouldn't be too hard to set up, lots of people still play online but it's easy to get. Just participate in and finish a 12 race tournament online.
Connected 1 Bronze
Finish 10 online racesComplete 10 races online finishing in any place, easy!
Bling Brigade Bronze
Finish an eight player online race with all players using ships that are displaying Campaign Skins.
Possibly the hardest trophy in the game to achieve as trying to get 7 other people to help you is next to impossible to do these days. To get this trophy you MUST have completed campaign and should have unlcoked a set of silver shiny skins to use on your ships. Once you have unlocked them you must go into a race online and use that skin on any ship, the other 7 members MUST ALSO have the silver skin on their ships. (When i achieved this, we all used campaign skins but we also each used 1 of the original 8 ships. I don't know if this is necessary but thats how i got it.)
Deadly Momentum Bronze
Get eliminated in a race on Novice difficulty.Just go into a race on novice difficulty and keep grinding against the wall until your health is low and drive real slowly so that you're and easy target and wait to be eliminated by an opponent.
Gemini Bronze
Complete 20 two-player, split-screen races.
Can be done with 2 controllers but it gets boring, if you can i suggest actually playing someone so this goes alot quicker. Finish 20 races split screen and it should pop up.
Mercenary Bronze
Get at least 500 loyalty points for each team. After each race you are awarded points based on many factors, getting 500 is easily do-able in 1 race, just earn at least 500 with each different ship.
Motion Master Bronze
Win a Campaign or Racebox race with the motion sensor option set to ‘pitch and steering'. Directional buttons, Left Stick & Pilot Assist cannot be used to obtain this trophy.
This can be quite frustrating, you must go into the pause menu and turn pilot assist off as its says, DO NOT use any directional buttons or the joystick even for a second, and you must have set the motion sensor to 'pitch and steering', this means that by moving the controller thanks to sixaxis, you are able to steer your ship and also adjust the pitch which is how low or high the nose of the ship is by tilting back or forwards. It is harder to perform barrel rolls this way too! Set the opponents at novice level and keep trying till you get it.
Sponge Bronze
Absorb 500 items. When you fly over weapon pads it will pop up in the box at the top, you can either use it and fire OR press circle and absorb the item. By absorbing items this will restore some lost health, the amount depends on which weapon you are absorbing, it shows you on screen how much each is worth. You know when you absorb an item as your ship gets a blue flash around it for about a second. Just absorb 500 items.
Thanks for the Memory Bronze
Win a Campaign, Racebox or Online race using each HUD style variations.
As you progress through campaign and earn loyalty points you will be able to change the HUD view, to do this go to the options section at the main menu and select game options, from there you can change the HUD style. This does NOT mean change the view of the ship!) There are 3 different HUD views in total which are HD, 2097 or WIP3OUT.
Campaign Legend Silver
Obtain a gold medal for every cell in race Campaign. After you have finished campaign simply go back through and make sure EVERY medal in EVERY set of events is at gold level, it does not matter what difficulty they were achieved at but again if you want platinum they must all be done on elite difficulty.
Airbraker Silver
Reach Zone 50 (Subsonic) in Zone Mode on any track using only airbrakes and sideshift. Motion sensor controls must be turned off
This shouldn't be too challenging, do this on 'anulpha pass' and turn off motion sensor controls.the ONLY buttons you can use are L2 or R2, these are your airbrake buttons and they turn your ship by pressing them, you can also sideshift by double tapping them but this can mess up your line quite bad, i suggest not sideshiftting unless you really need to but beware sometimes your ship will sideshift when you don't want it to if you keep pressing L2 or R2 to slightly adjust your ship. I did it loads and its mega frustrating.
Tournament Ace Silver
Win every race of an 8 stage Racebox tournament on Skilled or Elite difficulty.Simple enough, set up the tournament and do it on skilled difficulty, seeing as it is in racebox it won't affect your career so you may as well make it easier for yourself and do it on skilled. Just win every race, it doesn't matter what 8 tracks you pick either, i did 'anulpha pass' 8 times i believe.
Connected 2 Silver
Win 10 online races
Easy to do, play races until you have won 10.
Lapped Out Silver
Complete 99 laps in a single Racebox, Speed Lap sessionThis can be pretty boring to do, you can do what i did and do all 99 laps properly and use it as practice for the 'beat zico' trophy or just tape your x button down and turn pilot assist on so you don't touch any walls and just leave it to play itself until all 99 laps are done. Again i advise doing this on 'anulpha pass', it quickly becomes many peoples favourite levels as they play it ALOT. 1 last piece of advise here is to set it to phantom class so the ships flies quicker, meaning 99 laps takes less time on it's own.
AG Assassin Silver
Eliminate 50 online opponentsCan be quite frustrating but you can either get this on your own playing random people and having fun, or boost with a partner and take it in turns to eliminate each other in races, you can keep killing them too, shouldn't take too long.
WipEout Disciple Silver
Obtain 100,000 loyalty points for any team
This will take awhile to get but i suggest sticking with 1 ship all the way through career and you should get this along the way, if not just keep playing your favourite game mode in racebox games or something. I used Feisar and kept doing zone races once i had finished campaign, the only reason i didn't get all the points i needed was because i kept switching ships at the start.
Elite Campaign Legend Gold
Obtain a gold medal for every cell in Race Campaign on Elite difficultyPretty self-explanatory and fairly hard to do. As you look through the events in campaign you should notice that not all of them have a difficulty rating in brackets, this means that it only has 1 setting and you don't have to worry about it if you have it gold, all the events that DO have a difficulty rating in brackets must be done at elite level. Once you finish the last race at elite level this will pop up. There are 87 events in all that need to have a gold medal.
Zone Zeus Gold
In Zone Mode, reach Zone 75 on any trackThis is the 3rd hardest trophy to achieve in the game in my opinion. Hopefully you will have practiced this track enough to know it perfectly and should be fairly good enough to do this. I left this trophy till near the end, if you complete campaign first at elite then you should be fairly good at the game and shouldn't struggle too much. Just keep switching between joystick and airbrakes, as you progress it is easier to use a combination of both as this makes it easy to get round really tight corners at hgih speeds. Pause (Only on the raised ledge to the right as you approach the finish as it is easiest to continue from here.) if your hands get sweaty, mine did alot as you get faster. Like i said, it is so much easier to get this on 'anulpha pass', just practice and practice to get this. The more times you reach a higher level the more practice you get at the higher speeds. You should keep getting higher and higher each time you play, i also suggest putting music on you like that should help you, i dunno how it does it but it does!
Arcade Perfect Gold
Finish 1st on all 16 tracks in Phantom class Racebox races on Elite difficultyNot too hard, if you have done campaign at elite then the first 8 races shouldn't be too hard as you should be used to them, once you have done them you must do all 8 again in reverse which is much harder as you have to familiarise yourself with the corners in reverse and win on elite. Shouldn't take too long to do if you stick at it. If you keep playing you should notice that the same ships usually win the race, once you can recognise which ones they are, try taking them out of the race so you have more chance to win.
Beat Zico Gold
Equal or beat the lap time of 30.82 seconds on Anulpha Pass (Forward), Speed Lap, Venom using the PiranhaThis to me is the 2nd hardest trophy in the game and has been the source of many people's annoyance. Go into racebox and set-up a speed lap session using all the details the trophy says, then start practicing, what i did was get used to each barrel roll and make sure i could do each one before going onto the next. Most people use 5 but i could only do 4 so i did it that way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..eTmo2EMWQ8
There is the video for help on where to do the barrel rolls, it says how to do them in the video but when you reach the 3rd barrel roll spot to go on to the ledge, i suggest going where he does but set your motion sensor to pitch so when you get to the edge tilt your controller back to point the nose up and get extra height which makes it easier to do the barrel roll. Once you can do all of them fairly easily, keep attemting it, shouldn't take too long. If you get too stuck don't hesitate to ask me, i have already got the trophy for myself and 3 other people!
Livery Liberation Gold
Unlock every ship skin in the gameThis was the reason i was switching ships at the start of my campaign, to get all the skins you must unlock all the ships, finish campaign and unlock the silver shiny skins, and also earn all 3 skins with each ship, you get 1 skin at the start with each, and unlock the other 2 for each ship after earning 4000 and 8000 loyalty points.
Transcendence Platinum
Earn all the trophies in the gameSame as usual, earn every other trophy to get this!
Fury DLC Trophies:
Hold Your Fire Bronze
Reach stage 10 without firing on any track, in any Detonator event.
Not too challenging, just avoid all the bombs and mines on the track, keep trying until you get it. Shouldn't take too long, they always appear in different places and you can't shoot so there isn't much advise i can give except pick a level you like and keep at it!
Sharpshooter Bronze
Score a hit with every round in an entire cannon clip in any Detonator event.
Take it real slowly only firing 1 bullet at a time, making sure you hit a mine every time, i think it is best to wait until the mine is fairly close in front of you making your chances of missing as low as possible, just don't press the reload button at all until you're done.
Da Bomb Bronze
Destroy all 14 bombs in any Detonator event.
The bombs are much bigger than the mines so once you know what they look like they are hard to miss, just keep charging the EMP weapon thing and as soon as your close enough start shooting it and use the EMP, simply destroy all 14 and you will get the trophy. Only 1 spawns on each lap.
Zone Battles Legend Bronze
Win a single player, Racebox, Zone Battle event with a target of 40 on Talons Junction (Forward).
Simple enough, go into racebox, set up the race on Talons Junction, make the target 40 and win the race. I kept saving up my boosts until it was full, once my lead was big enough i kept half filling the boost bar to keep my lead. Also, use your boost on straights so you don't boost right into a corner.
Just Passing Through Bronze
Pass through 15 Zone Barriers in any Zone Battle event.
Every time you use boost, a barrier will be created and left exactly where you used boost. This happens with all the opponents ships too, to go through a barrier you should get some boost in your bar and press circle and this will create a green shield which lasts depending on how much boostt you had when you pressed circle. Go through 15 to get the trophy, this must be in 1 race so i suggest making the target as high as possible.
Zen Evasion Bronze
Win any single player Zone Battle event with a minimum target of 25 without absorbing.
Just keep saving your boost up until it's full and use it, this should only need to be done 2 times to win, just avoid hitting walls as you do this and the trophy should be yours when you win. DO NOT press circle throughout the race.
Elimin18 Bronze
Eliminate 18 opponents in a single player Eliminator event.Set up and eliminator event with the score set to it's higest on novice difficulty. You get points for finishing laps, and getting kills, if your score gets too high start going off the track as destroying your ship takes points off you meaning you can get more kills. Keep trying until you get 18 in 1 race and you will get the trophy after your 18th kill.
Cannon and on BronzeHit 5 different opponents with rounds from the same Cannon clip in a single player Eliminator event.
When you get the cannon you get 30 bullets but it fires 2 at a time so basically you can fire 15 times. I suggest firing 1 at a time, so even if you miss you don't have to worry too much. To make it easier try staying still and turn around so you can fire towards the ships as they approach you. Hit 5 different ships and this will appear.
Stay on Target Bronze
Stay locked onto an opponent with a Missile or Leech Beam for 30 seconds in a single player Eliminator event.Do as it says, get a missile or leech beam and follow an opponent so it is locked on and keep it there for 30 seconds making sure you don't lose them. DO NOT fire it, just stay locked on.
The Pure Four Bronze
Obtain 50.000 points on each of the following tracks in Zone Mode – Pro Tozo, Mallavol, Corridon 12 and Syncopia.
Simple enough, play each of the new levels in zones, and keep going till your score reaches 50,000, if you have already got 'Zone Zeus' this should be very easy.
Stats Life Bronze
Attain and view every stat in the game.
To get this you must have earned every stat in the game and lit up every part on every page. It sounds confusing but there are 6 pages of stats and each part must have been lit up and not say 0. Below are my 6 pages of stats so you can understand exactly what i mean, nothing says 0 and everything that can be lit up, is.
Anti-scenic Route Bronze
Successfully perform a barrel roll whilst navigating the Amphiseum (Reverse) shortcut in any event.
This confused me at first as i couldn't see the jump but it is hidden behind a sign, just barrel roll through it and land and you should get the trophy. Here is a video showing where the jump is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related
Fury Campaign Legend Bronze
Obtain a medal in every cell in the Fury Campaign.
There are 80 events in the Fury DLLC campaign, just get ANY medal in every event and you will get the trophy after you have finished the last one. The difficulty level does not matter either, only the original campaign needs to be done on elite but you can do this on elite too if you fancy a challenge.
Hope this helps everyone, any changes that need to be made or if you need any help just add me on PSN, 'Collbreast'.. good luck guys!!
January 11, 2010 at 9:03 pm #55124pool96MemberHave you got this platinum trophy? If so then congrats.
I have heard that this is really difficult but people who have played every WipEout yet will find it a bit easier.
It's another excellent guide man but if I may say so please do not use the yellow writing, I know it's to show that it's a gold trophy but it's very difficult to read.
January 11, 2010 at 9:08 pm #55126Collbreast_23Memberyeah i have it, i got it a long time ago and thanks, it was the 1st wipeout ive played tbh, it was amazing! and yeah i know, the writing isn't exactly reader friendly but i had originally used green lol and then i had to re write it and do all sorts so i could post it, took like 5 edits.. in the end i just couldnt be bothered again haha but thanks
