Kojima said it himself AND QUOTE – “For us to bring Met Gear to the 360, it would take 5-8 discs.”
February 12, 2009 at 12:26 am #21158shadeblackParticipantyeah because the 360 uses dvd, not hd dvd.
the 360 has add on HD dvd drives only – not by default.
and that's not what he said. he said; and I quote:
“it's not about the hardware – I want people to look at the game itself.”
February 12, 2009 at 1:36 am #21159parnakasMemberit is what he said.
Maybe not perfectly exact, i couldnt remember if it was 5 or 8, so i wrote both.
I'll post the link asap.
February 12, 2009 at 1:38 am #21160shadeblackParticipantthe point is: he didn't care.

no it isn't.
HD DVD – Single layer is 15GB, Dual layer is 30GB.
just remember shade, 360 DOES NOT have hd dvd built-in. It was an external drive.
Ok, Kojima said that MGS4 was built using the ps3 HARDWARE, and that bringing it to the 360 as a port would be nearly impossible. he also said that if it were to come as a port, it would need to be 3-5 discs (excuse my mistake on my other comment above) to work on the HD External Drive. The built in DVD drive would take 5-8 discs. He also said for it to fit on 1 disc, they would have to completely redo the game, using the 360 hardware, which he said would “ruin the game”. And he (Kojima) is sick of people asking him if Mgs4 is going to 360. His answer is No.
remember this?
360 fanboys were freaking out. Then they found out it was for iPhone + iPod Touch. SUCKS FOR THEM!!!
If it was going to 360, i think this would have sybolized it better:
February 12, 2009 at 3:33 am #21162KILLER369Memberi think that we can agree that 360 aint getting blue ray, its too far into its life span first of all. but there is about 70-80% chance of the next Xbox getting it. now then the compitition is a no brainer between PS3 or 360. and 360 R screwd dew to the credit crunch thus no more games have been released for it. microsoft will put in 1 last stand with the next Xbox. PS3 have cleaned the shelves of gamers these past 2 years and even more ppl will join PSN over the coming months. there is only 1 place that is literally keeping Xbox going and i have the missfourtain of living here this place is wales britain. every single person around where i live owns an Xbox. now im different im a loyal sony user i owe my life to Playstation consoles literally. so, i doubt Xbox can keep living off 1 area for long. so with the credit crunch and all it would B very unwise of microsoft to invest in a new blue ray unit and install it into the next gen Xbox just for a land mass that isn’t even a country. and yes i do realise there are other ppl around the world who own an Xbox.

February 12, 2009 at 6:10 am #21164Ratchet525MemberShitbox 3fixme will not recieve a Blu-ray player, NEVER! It will be too much for it that the console would expolde.
P.S. yeah if MGS came out on 360 it would need about 15 discs.
February 25, 2009 at 9:32 pm #21493barkiemailmanMemberAll technology questions aside…Sony created Blu-ray and is REALLY pushing that as a big sales factor to get people to buy PS3's (even my dad has one). Would Microsoft even be allowed to put a blu-ray player in their system, or would that be like Voodoo stealing Nvidia's technology?
February 25, 2009 at 9:48 pm #21495shadeblackParticipantwe've already talked about that:
Advanced Access Content System (AACS) is a standard for content distribution and digital rights management. It is developed by AS Licensing Administrator, LLC (AACS LA), a consortium that includes Disney, Intel, Microsoft, Matsushita (Panasonic), Warner Bros., IBM, Toshiba and Sony.
so microsoft has always been allowed to use bluray.
February 26, 2009 at 6:22 pm #21505Hurley48Memberhey shade if somebody downloaded a virus for windows on ps3 what would happen? and what about x360? the os is similar to the pc is it possible to get a virus?
February 27, 2009 at 5:12 am #21516shadeblackParticipantput simply, it depends on the operating system's processes and executable files. viruses, spyware and malware in Windows for example are commonly .exe and .dll.
if you had a virus that is designed for windows, you would not be able to put it on your ps3.
