October 19, 2009 at 1:02 pm #46781danny-boiiMemberjust called sony, they said i can contact them again with a reference number, to get someone to collect my ps3 for free, and then i will recive a brand new ps3 of the same model for a price of £128, clearly cheaper than buying a new one soo i might just try it out… still cant believe this lol

Im sure your account wont be lost . I mean im pretty sure its saved on Psn itself , since ive signed into my account off other Ps3s . Not to mention after deleting my first account a year ago i still have it as a friend on my PSN list haha .
October 19, 2009 at 1:18 pm #46785danny-boiiMemberhaha, yeah i hope i will keep my C_O_S_S_I_E account, so yeah of all the people who are friends with me on psn, dont bother deleting me just yet haha
remember my psn account is C_O_S_S_I_EOctober 19, 2009 at 1:49 pm #46786Haza12MemberI've got an original 60GB PS3 other than the occasional freezes it's been fine. Haven't had any of these problems with not showing friends last sign-in. I really hope I don't get that yellow light of death though!
October 19, 2009 at 2:13 pm #46788colton10_lfc_torresMembermy ps3 always freezes and always comes up yellow light of death but it never breaks for good just turn it off and back on and works again fr about another 4hours then freezes and it happens over and over again.

October 19, 2009 at 5:26 pm #46818slick1986Memberwell as i said this happened to me but i just got some good news i got £350 to spend in game and that got me 250 gig slim with uncharted 2 fifa 10 brutal legands and tekken 6 preorderd but i do miss my 60 gig one now i cant play my ps2 games.
October 19, 2009 at 5:53 pm #46820danny-boiiMemberhow and why have you got £350 ???
October 19, 2009 at 6:32 pm #46822slick1986Memberi bought extended warranty so because they dont make the 60 gig anymore i got that instead. although i was serprised with the amount cos it was more than enough for a new ps3 the only thing that i can think of it was incase i wanted to buy a ps2 aswell.
October 19, 2009 at 6:41 pm #46823slick1986Membersorry i should prop have said this wasnt from sony it was from an insurance company.
October 19, 2009 at 7:00 pm #46824danny-boiiMemberoh right, i was gettin my hopes up there haha
October 19, 2009 at 8:59 pm #46831KnoxieMemberi got this a couple of months ago!
i have the original 60GB and it supposedly happened to me cos i left it in a place without much space.
sony dont give you a new one for free nor do they fix it for free, if they do fix yours they may swap your HDD as well leaving you with out all your game data and saves, meaning you have to start over again on online games etc. but you can still get back onto your account and keep your trophies if you remember your email and password.
your best bet would be get it fixed at grainger games (if youve heard of it) becos its only £100 and comes back around 2/3 weeks whereas sony normally take 1 month i think.
hope this helps as i feel your anger!
good luck.
October 19, 2009 at 9:57 pm #46849danny-boiiMembercheers knoxie 🙂 xxx
October 20, 2009 at 1:56 am #46914parnakasMemberMy cousins PS3 broke, outside of warranty, and Sony replaced his PS3 with a refurbished one for free. It works like new. You only lose your saves, unless you back them up on a USB Drive, or External HDD, which i would recommend doing for everyone, you never know if your PS3 is just going to break down..
