October 20, 2009 at 2:21 am #46951JEG050ParticipantIs there some way that i can help prevent my 60 gig from getting it?
October 20, 2009 at 6:52 am #47006xxKnightmarExxMemberMy old 60gb ps3 got the blu-ray if death, so pretty much the blu-ray player cra**ed itself. Lucky it had a one year warranty that was just valid and after about 4 weeks I got it back. It worked for about one week, then it happened again, so eventually I got it replaced with an 80gb. I lost everything I had on it. But I got 20 extra gig and cash back in the end. Ive had no problems with this ps3 and I made sure I got an extended 3 year warranty.

My cousins PS3 broke, outside of warranty, and Sony replaced his PS3 with a refurbished one for free. It works like new. You only lose your saves, unless you back them up on a USB Drive, or External HDD, which i would recommend doing for everyone, you never know if your PS3 is just going to break down..
Hmm , my friend was telling me about that . Buy a USB stick and press transfer ? 😀

not exactly, buy a USB Stick, but i think you have to do every save game individually. Which is a pain. But it is worth it!!

Only thing is, you gotta hope that the save doesnt have a lock on it.
October 23, 2009 at 2:40 am #47332parnakasMemberBarely any games have locks on them.. only one i can think of is RB1 & RB2.. i remember they were locked. Which is gay if your just backing them up.

Crash Commando and Red Faction: Guerrilla have locked saves.
October 23, 2009 at 7:08 pm #47363NinjacatMemberKillzone 2 has a lock on it. But the online rank is saved on the servers
October 29, 2009 at 3:04 am #48072I773D33MABL3MemberIf you do a full system backup instead of copying things individually then locked game saves get copied as well. It also backs up your game install data which saves a lot of time later. Any photos, music or videos will get saved as well.
