Well since the first decade of the new millenium is drawing to a close I thought I'd throw this question out there.
Obviously there's a hell of a lot of choice for this title: ICO, RE4, MGS, Silent Hill 2, Uncharted (1&2), GTA IV, LittleBigPlanet, God of War series, the list goes on………………………
So what are thoughts?? Feel free to name a 360 game (but I won't be held responsible for the abuse you're likely to recieve ) or even PC game, somehow I can't see any Wii games topping the lst.
My personal choice would be GTA: San Andreas
Why?? Well they say you never forget your first time and for me this was my first experience of the GTA world. I'd never set foot in Liberty City or Vice City, so went into this with no expectations and no clue. I knew it had a heavy gangsta rap, Boyz N The Hood influence which was why this was the first of the series to appeal to me.
What I found competely blew me away. The “sandbox” gameplay, the sheer size of San Andreas once you'd opened up all the areas and the variation of those areas, the number of mini-games, the nudge nudge, wink wink in-jokes (I still chuckle at the thought of Wang Cars ). I could go on…..
Sure it had its faults, the pilot tutorial springs to mind and graphically its not the best game out there. However, for me this game stands out as being the pinnacle of PS2 gaming and although there are a number of excellent titles on PS3 nothing yet has (for me) beaten the spectacle of CJ's only gaming outing.
This is just my opinion, so think first before you decide that I'm a noob who doesn't know what I'm talking about cause I didn't name a PS3 game
Remember, this is about games released since 2000. Had I said “Game of All Time” I'd have gone for the Metal Gear Solid on PS1, but that's a discussion we've had already (numerous times)

I mean LittleBigPlanet changed the whole PS3 community in so many ways , giving many people the freedom and abilities to make and do pratically anything . Uncharted ? Dont get me started , theres a reason why i have a poster of it framed in my Rec-room . Uncharted 1 (and2) has also provided , great fun , awesome plat , unforgettable characters , and most of all has created a clan of followers in for the ride . Also any of the Metal Gears , Resident Evils , always provide good fun , and with MGS4 ( probably one of the , or is the best ) that probably changed my whole view on story driven games and graphics alone .
Overall , i choose not to pick a game .WHY? . Because i honestly think all those 10/10s , GOTYs you decided and were awarded to shouldnt just be judged inb the end and dropped down to own super awesome game .

November 2, 2009 at 3:42 pm #48647BigWoopMagazineMemberPrince of Persia: Warrior Within
I just loved everything about this game… the continuity of the story from the first one really made the prince's attitude very believable, the controls were spot on, combat is really fun, the puzzles are actually puzzling. I love how almost every room in the game had a past and present version, so you would have to figure out several different ways to get around the same place. Really this whole triology was great, but they fixed some gameplay issues in Warrior Within and the setting was beautiful. This is where the series really shined, with every detail coming together perfectly, and I played it over and over again, loving every bit of it.
November 2, 2009 at 5:39 pm #48653r23drummerMemberhmmm, this i a tough one…. but im gonna say Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
ive played Among Theives, and although the gameplay is better, i didnt like the story as much as Drakes Fortune, i got lost by about C.17 and didnt find the ending as satisfying. also, i now hate helecopters because of it lol, my opinion though, dont hate me for it :p
Theres also Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, as ive waisted over 100 hours on it, but thats a close second 🙂

Dont forget thats also where the series took its M17 + rating which i found to be a great add on .
November 2, 2009 at 9:41 pm #48715BigWoopMagazineMemberGood point. The mature attitude and theme really drove home the seriousness of the storyline they were trying to tell. They also had a pretty good soundtrack with the two Godsmack songs on it… really helped give that feeling the prince is turning into a major badass.

November 2, 2009 at 11:14 pm #48743parnakasMemberMetal Gear Solid 4. The Perfect game.
The best graphics, amazingly deep story-line, stunning cinematics, amazing gameplay, unforgettable characters, and a great online component.
I love that game.. GO KOJIMA!!
November 2, 2009 at 11:17 pm #48747W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberThe only flaw is the rediculously long cutscenes , which i think shouldve just been added to some database thing in the main menu instead of wasting my time on 45 minute cutscenes .
November 2, 2009 at 11:18 pm #48749ideal4livingMemberi know everyone is becoming sick of it but GTAIV shoult be up there, everyone loved it when it came out and if it came out now everyone would go mad over it so that would be the one for me but then there is littlebig planet that just is never ending and is so amazing so between those 2 for me
