Horoscope Hang-Up: Earth Rotation Changes Zodiac Signs
Oh yea. We all got screwed on this one.
This is the stupidest thing I have heard since the backstreet boys tried to make a comeback.
January 14, 2011 at 2:10 am #68678I773D33MABL3MemberDamn, now I have to change all those legal documents that required my star sign…
January 14, 2011 at 5:57 am #68679HardAndSloppyMemberi think that is the stupidest thing i've ever heard
January 14, 2011 at 1:40 pm #68682monkeymoobsMemberapparently it only applies to those born after 2009

Ok, this actually made me let out a big HA.
Seriously.
This zodiac sign crap was stupid enough to begin with, now they managed to make it even stupider! So lame. People should just leave shit alone. I also heard that the average day now is like 24 hours and 4 minutes, so soon there will be enough time accumulated to make a new month. WTF. But thats probably false.

if they make that new month it better be a holiday
January 16, 2011 at 10:55 am #68689kingofgames73Memberhmm, seems to be some confusion here, nothing has changed with regards to the Zodiac signs. There's two main types of astrology, Sidereal and Tropical. Tropical astrology (the more common/western one) follows the sun, whilst sidereal follows the constellations etc.
It's sidereal that has changed so, therefore, no ones sign has changed (if they don't want it too, that is). Panic over, continue to fill in those all important forms with whatever you want…..Also if you are eastern/follow the sidereal constellations, it won't have affected you unless you were born on or after 2009 (as monkeymoobs correctly quoted), and i don't see many 2-3 year olds using this site (although some old arguments would suggest otherwise)
Parn-Where did you hear that? :S
January 16, 2011 at 11:59 am #68718NinjacatMemberI heard about this. I'm still a little confused. Although, it makes sense for it not to affect us. I was born on September 6th 1993, and at that time I was a Virgo. If I was born this year, on that date I would be a Leo. But, because I am already born, it doesn't affect me.
Actually, I don't know why I care, I couldn't care less about star signs and horoscopes and gypsy stories.

If you were born september the 6th this year, you would still be a Virgo. It has not changed for us, only eastern (asian mainly) as tropical astronomy has set dates that are also slightly different to sidereal (pretty much, hindu)anyway :P. for example, with virgo-
tropical-23rd of august to 23rd of september
however…
sidereal-13th of september to 30th of October
January 16, 2011 at 6:54 pm #68722parnakasMember@KoG – really? Well thats just dumb. Why would there be two different types? That really screws everybody up. Theres so much confusion surrounding this, everyone is telling me something different! As far as I'm concerned, I was born a cancer, and I always will be a cancer. I hate this crap! Why would they even bother bringing this up if it doesn't effect anybody? UGH.
And I'm not sure where I heard that thing about each day being 24 hours and 4 minutes; but its most definitely a rumor.
@ninjacat – 1993 is the best year to be born in, just saying

Just think about daylight saving and 'leap-years', designed to keep time in check… Roughly.
Over the course of a year it [A day] will average out to 24 hours, although due to the Moon the Earth's rotation is decelerating. So days are set to get longer in the future i would imagine? But that could be managed with more 'daylight saving' changes…
I couldn't imagine them creating a new month, as in this 'modern' world, so many things would need changed because of it.
And if the 'powers that be' decided to create another month you better believe it wouldn't be a holiday… Working another month would only mean more money for the tax man and the government. It's the same as the 'retirement age' – As people are starting to live longer the age is getting higher… More money for the government.
Horse Sh!t…

I'm pretty sure if they were to create a new month there would be at least a holiday, or they could simply make it set during the summer, so a longer summer vacation
