The Mac is amazing. Save up the money, and get one. Way more reliable than Windows.
Yes Mac’s are better than Microsoft, purely on the basis that they design the Hardware and the Software themselves rather than a generic Microsoft OS that conforms to set form factors to work with hundreds of different companies.
Windows 7 is a massive improvement and is probably the closest thing yet to the Mac. Mac’s require less resources in general compared to Intel x86 based PC’s. I havent tried the 64 bit version of Win7 – presuming it makes better use of a lot of RAM – would be the most important asset of a 64 bit pc/laptop.
Where x86 based Laptops go they require a lot of resources, even A lot of RAM – max 3GB for Vista(you can put in 4GB but it will only ever make use of 3gb!) High Processor power with v good L1 L2 Cache and a Quality Nvidia Graphics card (I would recommend Nvidia for Laptops and AMD for PC’s) and a strong cooling system you would still find the laptop working slowly and freezing, even on AC power
I have fixes for a lot of Vista slow problems and more than willing to share should anyone require them. When it comes to laptops go for the Mac. Mac’s work equally as good if not better than a Vista laptop with much higher spec. Just goes to show that bigger numbers in specs don’t always mean they are better as Microsoft tend to make poor use of these specs and waste a lot of memory.
