MemberThere are no inconsistencies in my theory. Sony sucks. Enough said. Yes it is true that Sony did give the foundation for the blu ray format. However, since blu ray format has won the format wars…Sony has not played a larger part in comparison to various other manufacturers. Also, it should be noted Sony has lost alot of manpower due to the recession to play larger roles in the electronics world. They obviously didnt invest very well.
MemberNo James. I am done with Sony. I have never really had any luck with any of their products. My cousin purchased a 42″ lcd from them and it has been a bigger nightmare for him as the Playstation 3 is for me. I went through 4 Sony dvd players in only a year. Yet, I buy some el cheapo dvd from Best Buy 4 years ago, and has never given me a single problem. I have come to the conclussion that it is all Sony's fault for producing inferior products. For those of you who have not had your blu ray drive, then get ready because it will. I just spoke to Jeff from Sony PS3 tech support, they are only reliable for up to 300 hours of cumulative play before they generally start crashing. So ha…..even Sony says they suck. Luckily, I just bought me a new samsung blu ray player. Im happy, I can watch my 60 blu rays again.
MemberAcutally it is samsung and panasonic that take the highest ratings for blu ray players currently. They have very few firmware issues in comparison to Sony.
My ps3 has been crap, but it didnt go downhill until 11 months after having it. since then it has been a nightmare for me. i am not going with xbox 360. i just realized with me starting graduate school soon, i will not have time to ever play any video games for atleast 2 years.
MemberIt was 5, 000 that were cut. I know bc my cousin is a lead programmer for them in Atlanta (still employed). Yes Sony is not far from bankruptcy. They have shut down 25% of ALL factories across the world. Doesn't sound like a good future for sony. Plus their TVs suck, haha. Their laptops are high and unreliable. Their blu ray players are rated the poorest quality on the market currently. Nothing seems to be going well for them. So no im not an idiot. Read the news. You may learn something. Go to college, you will definitely learn something 🙂
MemberThe easiest has to be Dead Space, in my opinion. The hardest will be hands down…Wipeout HD. The most time consuming trophies have to be Fallout 3. I would also say that Buzz Quizz TV is tied with Dead Space for easiest platinum (though it takes time, and Im still working on it).

I don't think Nintendo will go young with the next system. I believe they have learned that they can't compete in this market without the more hardcore violent games. Also, it would be wonderful if they would kill mario forever.
Now, Microsoft has learned that they did not plan the 360 that well. They were so wishful in pushing the 360 out before Sony or Nintendo. That backfired very quickly.
The point is that Sony is kicking out garbage in all areas of their production. Their TVs are the most commonly repaired TVs on the market, their blu ray players (and firmware) are rated close to the bottom of the charts, their computers crash constantly, and nothing else seems to be getting better for them. Once my PS3 dies again, I will repair it and then sell it with all 30 games that I have.
Oh BTW, Microsoft Xbox 360 is cheaper and has always been cheaper than Sony PS3.

Parnakas: Believe me, I feel your pain. You would be surprised how many of us Americans would rather live in Canada instead of America. We hate our own country bc it just blows in every category.
MemberI agree with Shadeblack. RPG's rule!!! That is just the simple truth. I grew up on the final fantasy series, and many others. However, with that being said, I must say that Fallout 3 has been rather disappointing due to graphics, glitches, and gameplay. I am also not a fan of the story that is in fallout 3. Now, FarCry 2……well that games just blows, lol. Again, I agree with Shadeblack regarding the old RPGs that took hundreds of hours to complete. Those type of games were the best and you got more than your money worth out of those games.Â
Member@Shadeblack: No Sony did NOT issue cheaper or free repairs. The official statement that Sony released informed users of glitches in the firmware. They still deny that the firmware cause any crashes. Therefore, they repaired all broken drives for roughly $175 (after shipping costs, etc) to replace ALL the broken blu ray drives. I know this because I've went through it back in October 2008. Luckily I still had 3 weeks left on my warranty.
Overall, I am happy again. However, this will definitely be the last console I purchase from Sony. I will now go to Microsoft and Nintendo for all future consoles.
MemberYep that was the one that did crash most drives. I didnt have any problems either for a long time. Then another patch came out and that set off the prior firmware to crash the drive.
MemberI do NOT want anymore of these lame firmware updates. One of the previous ones crashed my blu ray drive in my PS3. Meaning I couldnt play any games, watch any blu rays, cds, dvds, etc. I almost had to pay for repairs of $150+. Luckily, Circuit City reprinted my receipt to show the purchase, making Sony repair it for free
It is sad that they are closing

I could not agree with you more parnakas. Actually every one of those games is just plain awful. lmao at the part that open season had you crying. I also agree that both of those must die now too, lol.

To be fair, there are a lot of shooters out there, but then they are the most popular type of game around. As for being the same as each other, using that logic you could say the same thing about movies etc.
Yes they are the same and different. They all have the same concept. No new ideas to incorporate into these lame fps guidelines. It is horrible. There are no excuses for these developers to keep putting this trash on the market. CoD 5? R2? They were trash. All fps titles have the same concept (shooting, no puzzle solving while shooting or anything), lame weapons (yes ALL fps weapons have been VERY lame), poor controls, and most of them have horrible graphics.

Oh I love fps games, but my god there are over 100 of them for the playstation 3. I am getting sick of them ALOT because they ALL are essentially the very SAME game over and over again. The only difference between Killzone 2, R2, CoD 4 and 5, and the other hundreds of them are the images and stories (though some of them are the same too). We need more of the “old school” resident evil games to be created to ensure the PS3 stays the greatest system on the market. Sony needs to ensure that resident evil is their “exclusive” title like it once was. We need more rpg games. Fallout 3 is “alright” but my god it takes forever to get one quest completed, and the story line is not that excellent. We need more final fantasy game, and we need the PSN game titles to actually be “good” like super stardust hd.
Yes Uncharted will automatically win the GOTY for 2009 if it doesnt fall behind in production. I wished it was RE 5 bc a game of that calibur should be top of all games. Sorry but I really needed to vent all of that.
MemberYes GoW 3 will be out in 2009. Along with Resident Evil 5, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 (unfortunately), and again they are trying to release FFX 13 this year as well (but they said that for 2 years now).
