ALL games that are released after January 1, 2009 are REQUIRED to have trophy support in order to be released for the playstation console. This is really old news now. But I do agree, I would have been p*ssed off if Modern Warfare 2 did not have trophies. I am still angry the first one didnt have trophies.

Definitely get Dead Space. I am not “great” gamer and I am currently working on the last trophy for my first platinum. It rules.

trophies are added to your psn account. not your harddrive. make sure your friend backs up all his saved data before he removes the old hdd and install the new one. after the new hdd is in then your friend needs to restore all the saved data to the new hdd.

I agree with some of the others' view. Now, Resident Evil 5 is a game that I am dying to get. It is not getting here soon enough for me. Now the game has trophy support, but I want the game just for the game. The fact that it has trophies just adds more to the value in my book.

Not all PSN games are bad J. Bowles. Superstardust HD is an AMAZINGLY addictive game. Warhawk is a good game, but I dont really play it much now or days. Wipeout HD is an amazing game too. So not all PSN games stink.

I agree Parnakas. I too hope that all our trophies will be of some value. Similar to Xbox 360's points for downloads and such. Sony should do it similar. I'd love to download some free add-ons, free psn game, movies, etc.

No. It is true I am addicted to trophies, but I do not buy a game just for trophies. I generally rent the games that have trophy support. Currently I have over 29 games for my PS3, but only like 6 of them (GTA 4, LBP, Fallout 3, Dead Space, Bioshock, Buzz, and CoD 5) have trophy support. In fact 3 of them were given to me as gifts. I rent a game for 2 weeks, and if I like it then I get as many of the trophies that I can. The exception would be FarCry 2, because I only played the game 20 minutes and hated playing every second of it due to poor controls and graphics and storyline. Trophies make a game more challenging in my opinion. Especially if you are trying to get a platinum trophy. So I do believe trophies can make a game's replay value increase.

Well I had beat the game on normal like 2 times and the first 2 chapters on a 3rd run through to get the maxed out trophy without using cheats. So the game got really boring after so many play throughs. So using cheats has made it more interesting to me.

This game is also proof that a game doesn't need online to be a good game or be successful. That had already been proved with Uncharted and Ratchet of course!!

haha, this will be my first platinum too man. I am going thru the game on impossible mode right now to gain the Epic Tier 3 Engineer trophy, and then I will have my platinum. It really is not that hard on impossible mode. Use the refill your stasis cheat alot and freeze enemies and then beat them to death. Im on chapter 6 right now and have only used like 50 bullets for the plasma cutter.

Actually it is official that all games that are released on the PS3 MUST have trophy support.

I did the same thing. I had earned trophies with my save file, then ultimately upgraded the hdd. I transferred my file over to the usb hdd, then upgraded the internal hdd, formatted the new hdd, restored all my original save files, and have kept earning trophies on the same games with absolutely no problems at all. Just make sure you format the new internal hdd after installing it before restoring the save files to the new internal hdd. You should have no problems, as I didnt. Hope that helps you at all 🙂

Wow man that sucks. I've never had that error, and hope to never see it, haha. The only real problem I've had was my blu ray drive died back in October. Luckily I got it fixed for free.
