I got 5 games with my system. Excluding those, the first games I bought for my PS3 were:
1. Conflict: Denied Ops (I played the demo when I first got my PS3 and loved it… mediocore graphics and all, it's so much fun lol)
2. Rock Band
3. NBA Street: Home Court

I just said Toronto cuz more people know what toronto is than what ontario is. I dont really get it though lol
but still…..NUNAVUT FTW…….. just kidding. just kidding lol.
“NUNAVUT FTW” … lmao
Oh and sorry I'm responding to all this late, I was actually in TORONTO over the weekend and didnt have access to the internet, so I'm playing a bit of catch-up.
I passed Brampton on my way though. And Brantford for that matter.. I always get the two confused even though Bramptons closer to Toronto than Brantford lol

hey l8scent… i too have been looking into game access. It seems like a pretty good deal. But, can you get new releases first day? Is it like gay blockbuster where you can only rent a game if they have it in stock, or can you get any game, no matter how much other people get it?
oh and by the way.. .CANADA FTW!!! hahahahaha
im from brampton… which is in toronto
You can't get any game no matter how much other ppl get it. They have a system in place for whats in stock. For example, I have 10 games I want to rent. I place all 10 on my “game queue” and arrange their order from 1 to 10 based on my priority for each game. There is a bar for each game that shows availability the more “full” the bar is… the greater chance of you getting that game. They usually have new releases posted on the site 2 weeks or more in advance. You can add those games to your queue and instead of the availability bar it displays the release date. Once the game is released then the standard availability bar is put in place of the release date. You aren't guaranteed to get the number one game on your list everytime… but if you really want a specific game you could always put a reserve on it. This almost guarantees you will get it as soon as it's available.. but that feature also costs more.

Awe, no need for accusations. Did I use the word “psychopath”? No, didn't think so.
Fair enough, fair enough! lol

By all means James, add me. Knowing a lot of people on my system will always come in handy when it comes to receiving online trophies. =)
I gave this game to my buddy to play while I was still playing Wolverine and he told me it's absolutely horrible. He said the camera sucks and the enemies spawn in the most random and unforgiving spots. Sound like a headache just waiting to happen. I can't wait to play it! =P
I wouldn't go as far as calling it horrible.. I have played worse, definitely.
Although, the camera is pretty bad, the enemies do spawn in pretty terrible places (and they have a tendency to rush you), your character movements are slow/unsmooth (so you get owned if you get rushed.. lol)… and worst of all… cover disappears if shot too many times! gah!
Everything your friend said, and everything I have mentioned above IS forgivable.. on the easier difficulties. That's about the only time it's forgivable though. Maximum Hazard mode drove me to quit. I usually don't give up on games, especially if I'm close to platinum. This platinum was not worth the loss of my sanity though haha.
Don't get me wrong.. despite the above, it is a pretty funny game and worth a playthrough… it's just by no means an easy platinum

It was a very enjoyable novel, thanks!
Maybe add chapters to it next time though so I at least have a point to take a break.
I'm in Thunder Bay, ON, which is about 9 hours East of Winnipeg so I'm not that much further than you. Not too far West, anyway.
Okay, well, I'm going to go now before I accidentally say the wrong thing about Game Access and then you come after me to kill me… you know, being that you're so passionate about it and all.
LOL!

So you recommend Game Access then? I've been looking at that site for a while now. Just haven't been able to justify just renting games and not owning them. It's definitely a really great deal by the looks of it, though. Where about in Canada are you from?
I do recommend game access. As I mentioned, the only drawback is having to wait for your games. But you can make the best of it if you sign up to receive 2 or more games at one time. Just make sure you always keep one game in your possession.. so while another one ships, it won't matter because you still have something to play. They offer package deals from 1-4 games out at a time. You get discounts if decide to pay for 6 months all upfront. What I did was sign up for a trial month (back in February)… the trial month is cheaper and if you don't like the service you just cancel. Anyway, I loved it so after the first month I jumped straight into the 6 month subscription, I got 20% off billing for doing this. It's now mid-may and I'm just receiving my 14th game from them (my brother and I share the rentals so he can get games for PSP or Wii, etc). I'll be getting a steady supply of games up until September which is perfect because then univeristy starts again. Oh and I live in London Ontario.. 7-9 hrs driving distance from Montreal which is where the company is at. I have had no issues whatsoever with games being lost or broken.
I think the only reason I wouldn't recommend it is if you live in Western Canada… I heard the shipping takes upwards of 5 days. But yeah, definitely check it out… I think you can get a trial month for like $10 if you just rent out one game at a time. Really nothing to lose 🙂
Sorry for the novel.. I'm passionate about my gameaccess. hahaha
gamer47MemberI never buy anything from EB… i find they're even bigger rip offs then the rest.. but that's just me. Maybe call them up and ask them? Because ur right, you are being ripped off if you don't get it.
I also agree games are becoming ridiculously expensive.. especially for those with a base price of say $60, that take 4 hours to beat and have little to no replay value. I try to refrain from buying video games. That being said I looked into it and signed up with gameaccess.ca. Have you heard of it? It's the Canadian equivalent to Game Fly and works wonderfully… waiting for the games to ship can sometimes be annoying though. It cost me $120 for a 6 month subscription. I get 2 games out at a time and can keep them for as long as I want. The company is located in Montreal… I usually get the games in 3-5 days. I honestly can't complain though because it gives me access to games I otherwise may not have played for the price of purchasing 2 retail games at $60 each. It even beats renting from Rogers Video… the last time I rented there it cost me $10 for 5 days.
Anyway, check it out if you're interested
gamer47MemberI just rewatched the promo trailer for this and it doesn't specify anything. You could be absolutely right though, I have no idea. I'm just going by the video. It says all who preorder infamous will receive a Multiplayer Beta Voucher for Uncharted 2 while supplies last. And it also had small print saying: Beta Available 6/3-6/28/2009 (I paused on screen lol).
So maybe you get your voucher inside the actual case for infamous if it was a preorder? The video also shows both cover arts side by side and on the infamous one it has a sticker saying “Includes Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta Voucher”
Anyway good luck with your preorder from EB. It should have the beta when you get it, if not that's kind of silly they didn't specify it as a Best Buy promotion. Although, if you don't care about the beta, it won't matter either way!

The kid one made me lol
The next one, i agree with.. whats up with that?
The last one was actually tested on a smaller scale on a show called Mythbusters. Unfortunately I don't remember the end result and am now very curious 🙁
Solid, keep it up!
gamer47MemberPreordering Infamous and gaining access to the Uncharted 2 beta is also true for Canada/USA. It was the “electrifying announcement” that kept scrolling across the PSN news bar lol. Theres a video of footage and more details downloadable as well.
gamer47Member1. The name Santa Claus came from Saint Nicholas who was a bishop in the town Myra, and was known to be very nice to children.
2. A surfer once sued another surfer for “stealing his wave.” The case was dismissed because he court could not assign monetray value for pain and suffering endured by watching someone else ride “his” wave.
3. Scatology is the study of excrement. (Derived from the Greek word “Skata” which means feces … to put it nicely).
