MemberDeath Sentence is one Hell of a movie. I picked that up at random and was just blown away by it.
I picked up Daybreakers and The Book of Eli and I was a little apprehensive sitting down to both because they'd received very mixed reviews. I needn't have worried as I loved both. Daybreakers does nothing amazing with the vampire genre but it makes a pleasant change to the current shite that's being hoisted on us. I like my vampires to be scary, not tweenie heart-throbs with their own brand of lunch-box.
The book of Eli was a film that I just sat back and soaked up. Everything about the production, from casting to cinematography and music, was just spot on. The bleak future created was so gritty I expected dirt to come out with the disk. I watched it with Gnilsia and he said it was one of the best films he'd ever seen. Recommendations from both of us then.

MemberI think it's pretty funny that 2012 has the potential to be a fairly interesting year for humanity (Possible Armageddon etc.) yet your average person wouldn't know a thing about it if it hadn't been turned into a movie

MemberI love that film. The plot is retarded but the action sequences are mental. And the metal band they watch on the TV is Strapping Young Lad which earns the movie even further praise.
I watched a good French film called Chrysalis the other day. For once it looked like it had a budget on par with a Hollywood film.

MemberThey definitely need to work on the single player all right, but I think that goes hand-in-hand with co-op. In Killzone 2 you spent most of the game attached to your squad anyway so having one of them controlled by a second player wouldn't have been too hard.
If they still have your character as part of a squad in K3 then co-op should be a shoe-in.

MemberI just tried a ranked series and got a race with that all right. My joy was tempered by the fact that I got my arse handed to me.
Thanks for the reply Parn.

MemberHey man, as far as I know when someone quits a game on you it still gets recorded as a win but doesn't count towards the trophy.
You'll have to get 100 wins from finished games.

Marilyn Manson – Mechanical Animals album
Such an awesome album, def. in my top 5 all time fav. albums…. I could talk at length about why this is such a timeless album, every song is good and has meaning behind it, perhaps a little depressing but that's life… Before Manson sold out and started releasing sh!t.
“I’m not attached to your world… Nothing heals, nothing grows”
I'm a big fan of Manson myself, it was the band that got me into metal and while I now listen to much extremer stuff, I still have his earlier music. When you listen to albums like Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood you can tell exactly where he was in life when he wrote them. He had a depth and investment in his music that very few commercial bands even come close to touching.
Well, at least before he became an “artist” instead of a musician.
'Enemies of Reality' from the album of the same title by Nevermore. Counting down to the new album The Obsidian Conspiracy next week.

MemberI'll have to agree with Doc-B and say Mario Kart is still firmly on top. Online can kiss my ass because that was the best multiplayer game ever. You'd spend half the time breaking your shite laughing at something you'd just done to your mates or vice versa.
I'm honestly a little disappointed with Modnation. I knew I would be as soon as I saw there was a drift button. I can't understand why they include that in modern kart games.
I've barely touched the online racing yet because I'm having endless problems with the servers and the single-player loses my interest after a few races. The last racer I played was Motorstorm PR and I could play the same track on that for hours.
Modnation seems to have put so much effort into the creation side of things that they forgot people had to race the tracks as well. The actual driving is boring and feels identical to the recent Sonic kart game: which was shite.

My fav. game was prob. Heavy Rain… Although it isn't without it's flaws, i'm a critic by nature…
I'd also like to give a “big up” to the general knoxx DLC for Borderlands, as it's prob. my fav. game overall on Ps3 and not only that, I'd say it is one of the, if not the, best all-round pieces of DLC released for any game…
This might change when i get my grubby little mit's on ModNation Racers today… Wasn't interested in this at all until i played the demo… The creation tools are awesome – I didn't play LBP so sorry if this is old hat to most people…
Hands down, especially if you're talking about value for money. The Knoxx DLC cost me ten quid and lasted longer than some retail games I've bought, I still haven't finished it.
Increased level cap, new vehicles, new enemies, new areas and a mountain of better guns. Everything an expansion should have.
Now I just have to beat that massive, armoured, slug thing…
As for my favourite game so far? Probably BC2. I'm not a big fan of online but this game sucked me in and is definitely the second best online game I've played. (Warhawk is still king!!)
But my opinion could change. I bought FFXIII and the GOW trilogy but I've yet to even put them in the console…

MemberWhy bring that kind of crap up? Nobody minds a bit of adult humour but there's still such a thing as bad taste.

MemberQuality song. Used in a few movies as well. I think my favourite was in The Life Aquatic.
'I Am the Wrath of Gods and the Desolation of the Earth' from the album 'In the Constellation of the Black Widow' by Anaal Nathrakh.
I can't get enough of this band at the moment. I've just ordered another one of their albums off Amazon.

MemberI think Parn is trying to say that the film was given a wash with the old fag-ash filter. No primary colours, no warmth, just muted and drab.
Some directors seem to think that making everything miserable to look at somehow makes it more real.
Again, I haven't seen the movie so I'm talking generally.
I did, however, watch The Proposition the other day. i ordered it at random and was pretty happy I did. It's a slow burner but still has a healthy dose of the bloody stuff. The cast are perfect and the music is one of the best soundtracks I've heard in a while.
