I can understand where you're coming from mate, when a plat is easier to get than some of the bronze trophies out there then it loses any impact as an actual achievement. PSN doesn't differentiate between a month long grind and a one day run-through.
Add to that the amount of boosting, cheating and accounts with multiple users and any sort of leaderboard is going to be almost useless. I don't worry too much about my online rank; I'm in friendly competition with a few of my friends but beyond them I'm not interested in comparing myself with PSN in it's entirety.
As far as completion goes, while I do respect anyone that puts the effort into getting the 100% on all of their games, I do think it's a bit dismissive to demote someone who doesn't. I pick up most of the biggest releases and a few besides and I end up with some games that I've barely touched on and others that I only gave a single playthrough. Sometimes it's because the game is crap but more often than not I just start playing something else. I don't pick up a game, grab the easy trophies and move onto the next in an effort to boost my rank; I just don't have the time to devote myself totally to each game.
I773D33MABL3MemberExactly how much boosting are you talking about? Warhawk isn't one of those games you can play for a couple of days and hit the top ranks.

I'm going to see them next week so I'm giving my eardrums an appetiser before they get reduced to ruin properly!!
I773D33MABL3MemberI hope this never comes near the PS3. I have too much to play as it is!!!

I773D33MABL3MemberCongratulations man. A few people have announced their departure lately and have got mixed reactions and caused a few fights but you've successfully united the whole site in wishing you good riddance.
Thanks for bringing us closer together.

I was always able to play my Warhawk DLC on my American and Japanese accounts and my LBP DLC worked fine on them both as well. That said, some developers might region-lock their DLC, especially if release dates are different.

A very valid point and one most developers would do well to listen to. Let’s not forget the continuously worsening Command and Conquer series or the nonsense that Silent Hill dissolved into.I773D33MABL3MemberI was a 360 gamer before I picked up my PS3. I stuck with the PS3 because Warhawk was the first game that I played online and it just sucked me in. It was my first taste of competitive gaming and I've yet to play another online title as good as it.
But apart from that, games have no influence over my opinion as to which is the better console. I prefer the PS3 because of the range of options and compatibility I have with it. I like being able to swap videos and music between it and my PSPs. When I put music on the Xbox it re-formatted it into something that wouldn't read on any MP3 players I had and I couldn't even save it onto a memory stick. On top of that when I start to run out of room on my HDD I can easily change it to a much larger one.
The PS3 also has, by far, the most user-friendly menu. After a couple of flicks around the XMB I knew where everything was but after months on the Xbox I still found myself having to search for stuff. And while it might only be a small thing; I love being able to put any picture I want as my background and get dozens of themes without paying for them. Microsoft charging to change a simple background is a joke and then covering up a chunk of it with adverts is just taking the piss all together.
I773D33MABL3MemberI can’t see why they wouldn’t. The trophies should still be on his console in his trophy collection. When he signed up they should have synched with the server like normal.
I773D33MABL3MemberI don’t think that you can start talking about either console having better games without going down the fanboy road. You can be pretty sure there’s a thread identical to this one on an Xbox achievement site, only with the attitude inverted. I think PS3s list of exclusives this year is unreal (where the Hell am I supposed to get time to play them all?!) but Xbox has a few titles that I’d love to get my hands on. Metro 2033 looks like it’s going to piss all over most RPG-ish shooters, Mass Effect 2 is beginning to look like the daddy of all RPGs and Alan Wake looks crazy good.

This trophy just takes the piss. Even after hitting the 10,002 kills you’re nowhere near having all of the awards unlocked. The award sheet could be a trophy list all on it’s own and completing it deserves a plat, not the paltry bronze you get.I773D33MABL3Member@godprovoked
Hey man, I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying. When you say that you were logged in as a username do you mean you just hadn’t signed up for PSN or that you have a PSN account but just hadn’t signed into it on that console?
Did trophy icons pop up on-screen when you unlocked them?I773D33MABL3MemberCoryAllen said:
ok dude i can't believe you would do something as dumb as deleting everything! things can be fixed. hang in there!
My thoughts exactly. The YLOD is the most fixable fault with the PS3 so why put yourself in a position where there's no going back.
I773D33MABL3MemberAs in house-mate. Nothing dodgy! Sure his PSN ID is his lady's name backwards.
Back to books, I was going through some of the books I had stored away on shelves and I came across The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. One of the best written books I have had the pleasure to read. The guy has a style of writing that flows so well and is so accessible, you don't even notice your turning pages. It was completely different to anything I usually read but it blew me away. A carved in stone recommendation for anyone looking for something to glue to their hands for a few days.
