Cats. Is there any situation they can’t fix?

Those two titles tend to come up in any 'best of…' discussion yet I've never played either. I heard that the guy that made them is thinking of doing a similar sort of re-issue to the God of War collection and I hope it goes ahead because if the videos of 'The Last Guardian' are anything to go by then this guys work deserves the high-def treatment.
I773D33MABL3MemberSorry Gnilsia but I think the word you were looking for was ‘durrrrty’
we’re in agreement on Ms Basinger though. You can’t fault the classics.I773D33MABL3MemberAny of the Silent Hill soundtracks. The opening song from Silent Hill 1 is still one of the best pieces of music I’ve ever heard in a game and likewise with the acoustic guitar passage that opens Silent Hill 2.

I know. Have you noticed that despite all the claims to hate fighting and be mature, any thread that erupts into an argument is always one of the most participated in?!I773D33MABL3MemberWhile I do agree that the site needs moderators to keep things on an even Keel I have to ask again; why the sudden outcry?
I'm aware that I'm repeating myself here but can someone explain to me where they are finding this deterioration in the site? I'll admit that I don't pick through every single thread that pops up but I do visit these forums on an almost daily basis and the vast majority of threads are troll and flame free.
There's often a difference of opinion but rarely anything that qualifies as a fight. And a quick glance through some of the older threads is enough to confirm that it's always been like that.
A fight started on the Avatar: Greatest Movie… thread between W4R and Wrath/Mojo. It got fairly out of hand with people piling in on both sides but was confined to that thread until people started jumping ship claiming the whole site was a lost cause. Without trying to sound too harsh I honestly believe those guys leaving had less to do with all the fighting and more to do with the recent influx of outspoken new members resulting in this place no longer being their own personal playground.
Anyone here is more than welcome to show me the problems on the site that I'm missing because at the moment this talk of boycotting the place just feels like people starting to believe their own bullsh*t.
I773D33MABL3MemberNot to be argumentative, but Admin never really reigned things in before. As far as I can see there are only a handful of locked threads (a tiny fraction of the ones that ended up as fights) and I only know of one banning. He tended to let you do what you liked for the most part and only got involved if things got to a stage where someone was being seriously abused or to lock the odd duplicate thread.
And I can’t understand the growing opinion that the site is going downhill. I’ve been coming here since 2008 and there has always been disputes. Have you guys all forgotten the trophy comments for ‘Age of Booty’, ‘Terminator Salvation’ and any game that was perceived as only being for kids and trophy whores? Hell, how many fights were there over what qualified as a trophy whore/true gamer?
Maybe I’m missing something, but from what I can see there’s only been one recent thread that actually contained trolling and flaming, it might have spilled over in places but some people on here are reacting as if it’s an epidemic.
Any thread that I’ve checked to specifically help me with a game, trophy or hardware issue has had minimal crap and, in general, the advice/info I was looking for. As long as that keeps up then I think this site will work quite well.December 26, 2009 at 9:51 pm in reply to: Is MW2 making any of you guys stressed while playin it #53832I773D33MABL3Member@XeroTheGreat
C’mon man, sometimes it can be bloody hard to accept that it’s just a game. Especially when you know there’s some other guy who doesn’t have to accept anything because he’s just killed your ass for the fifth time in a row!!December 26, 2009 at 7:23 pm in reply to: Is MW2 making any of you guys stressed while playin it #53822I773D33MABL3MemberWhat about some peripherals like a headset or eyetoy?
December 26, 2009 at 4:18 pm in reply to: Is MW2 making any of you guys stressed while playin it #53800I773D33MABL3MemberIt’s probably because you’re better at the game. When I start off at a game I don’t mind it when I get killed because I don’t expect to do well, but once I reach a point where I’m doing better than average I get stressed if I can’t keep it up.
MW2 is so similar to the first one you probably haven’t dropped the expectations you have for yourself.
Or maybe you’re just getting really, really unlucky. I only ever played Warhawk online and I could go a month of dominating games and then get a few days where I was target practice for noobs. It got easier once I realised (read: convinced myself) that they were all lagging, glitching b*stards!!!December 26, 2009 at 2:43 pm in reply to: James Cameron’s Avatar : Greatest movie of the decade . #53796I773D33MABL3Member@barkie
“I'm a big internet fighter cool guy” attitude…
And you've trundled along to that opinion after seeing me disagree with people in what? Two threads?
For someone not interested in having internet spats you seem to be carrying a nice chip on your shoulder. And I like how you focused on my last post and completely ignored my first one where I didn't even remotely fight with anyone and gave a very straight-forward and reasonable opinion.
But then again it's a lot easier to dismiss me as a troll than actually try to respond to any points I make.
And as for the 'I'm the same guy as Mojo bullsh*t', I don't need a second account to speak my mind. I made the comment about the p*nis because I thought it was chronically obvious. I've welcomed our new friend Mojo because you lot managed to drive away Wrath after only four posts. You just lumped him in with Mojo and wrote him off as a troll.
@gnilsia
Careful man, you've broken a cardinal rule of the site. 'Don't disagree with anyone that's been here a while'.
I773D33MABL3MemberWhile your fixed PS3 is still working you should trade it in. You could either get another slim or a couple of new games.
December 25, 2009 at 10:38 pm in reply to: James Cameron’s Avatar : Greatest movie of the decade . #53773I773D33MABL3MemberThis is the best thread we've had in ages, it's so nice to read something with a bit of a pulse.
I love how so many of you are getting such a hate-on for this Mojo guy (welcome to the forum btw) and defending W4R despite the fact that Mojo's first post wasn't even directed at him. The only person he referenced was Wrath, apart from that he just gave an opinion on the film. It was fairly harsh but he didn't give sh*t to anybody. Even Wrath was only questioning W4R's opinion (which he's perfectly fcuking entitled to do) not bashing it. W4R was the first one to get sarcastic and start talking down to people. Then he jumps on his high horse when they bite back. If he’s going to start a thread with such a bold and dramatic statement then he should be ready to defend it.
And as for everyone calling the p*nis immature; you either enjoy stating the obvious or wasting words. Of course it's immature!! That's the fcuking point!! It's not exactly trying to be intelligent wit.

“via Mojo”: why did you go through him?
While Mojo might have been a bit heavy-handed, I do agree with the points he makes. Avatar doesn't feel like a movie with a message, but rather a message with a movie. Probably the most irritating thing about it is the fact that it's so obvious yet everyone keeps talking about it like it's subliminal.
While the CG does look pretty spectacular it just felt like I was watching an extended FMV from a game. It never approached feeling real. Call me old-fashioned but I miss the days when directors physically built a set and had to create special effects as opposed to generate them. And it probably doesn't help that the Na'vi are the worst looking aliens to hit screens in quite a while. I, for one, thoroughly support the destruction of their race.
I773D33MABL3MemberNice to see a good bit of support for the graphic novel. Far too many people write them off as comics for kids.
The Silent Hill series is quality although you might need to read them twice before you can get your head around what’s going on. It’s very easy to get distracted by the insane artwork at times.
Anything by Ben Templesmith (the artist behind the Dead Space GN) is usually gold. His Wormwood trilogy is one of the funniest things I’ve read and Fell: City deserves a sequel more than anything else on the market.
One of the better known GNs out there is Arkham Asylum and I only read this after playing the game. Definitely a recommendation to anyone. A damn sight darker and deeper than I was expecting.
